@@ryszakowy weird. I never had a problem with them nor those problems on ps3
@ryszakowy what do you expect when a game has an extremely tight schedule that is forced to cut a lot of content
Roger Craig Smith was also a great voice actor. I would like to hear him voice more as Batman. Even Kevin Conroy vouched for him.
It’s stunning just how Warner Brothers had the perfect Superhero game series & just botched it completely after Arkham Knight, cancelling multiple projects & leaving us with an awful Suicide Squad live service game.
@@ModelJames13i think arkham knight is good, it has flaws but overall it’s an awesome game
The arkham Knight isn't supposed to be a mystery. The arkham knight's identity is used to show batman's emotional state. He intentionally asks Alfred to Check out people that he has already arrested, so that there maybe is a possibility that the knight isn't jason.
"Batman has rarely let himself ruled by his emotions. Catwoman seems to be able to manipulate batman's feelings, as does the daughter of Rā's al Ghül, Talia. But when Batman encounters the mysterious arkham knight, he ignores, perhaps deliberately, clues to the knight's identity. For if the arkham Knight is who Batman secretly suspects him to be, then that means he has truly failed someone he considers family."
Taken from Batman arkham universe the ultimate visual guide
The Arkham knight tie-in novel (not canon due to contradictions with the lore) confirms that batman knew from the moment they met but was in denial.
I'm on the side of fans who feel that jason Todd should not have been in the game at all , really wish they let Paul dini cook and had hush be the villain teaming up with scarecrow .
@@baki484it is because it takes place in Bruce Wayne dream of his fear of becoming the joker
The End of an Era.
Kinda of a shame Paul Dini didn’t come back to write the story Arkham Knight
Agreed. He's arguably the real daddy of the series, not the Rocksteady writers.
Why? Arkham City's story was terrible. Talia letting joker kidnap her. Harley Quinn knocking out batman in the DLC. Lack of Two face. The useless catwoman sections. And Arkham Asylum is just another simple go catch Joker story dragged out for 8 hours.
Paul Dini is kinda an overrated hack. He didn't even write most of the Batman tas episodes. Overrated
@@MichaelSnakeson did you completely forget about the details of the games. Talia let Joker kidnap her to save Bruce. Batman took a bullet for a cop, don’t know how you expected him to get out of that. You’re oversimplifying Asylums story. You’re taking everything out of context.
To me the Arkham series never “fell” because I don’t even consider SSKTJL canon and I replay Asylum, City, and Knight all the time and have a blast every time. Love those games man
To me it's the five games before that matter because to me even if people don't like black gate even that is a better more respectful Arkham game than suicide squad. Oh and not to mention the animated movie that's pretty great too, Batman assault on Arkham.
That fake crash part had got me good , I was about to hit the console button to restart it when it came back lol
You're telling me they couldn't find ANY alternate versions of batman EXCEPT this one specific batman?
@@HinokasArabfan1 Yes. This batman has an established character and Fans, so seeing him get mind Controlled and then put out of his Misery will get an emotional response from people.
It's not gonna be canonical. Or at least. I won't acknowledge Rocksteady again if they try.
@@codygreene8783 It is canonical. The game makes constant references to the other games and is promoted to be a continuation of the arkham games
Good thing the canon, story, and universe ended with arkham knight. What a great and beautiful wrapped quadrilogy. Rest in peace Kevin Conroy.
gotta say I agree, suicide squad doesn't even resemble this universe, batman is completely different, deadshot is white, shark is dead, its like they didn't even try beyond a few cheap refferences and just said the worlds are connected for marketing purposes.
am i the only one that didn’t really mind the use of the batmobile in arkham knight?
Personally I had a blast with it. My big complaint about the game was how lackluster all the bosses were compared to origins.
I was re-playing the Arkham Trilogy for the umpteenth time and a thought occurred to me: the biggest villain in Rocksteady's trilogy of games is not Ra's al Ghul, Scarecrow or even the Joker. It's Dr. Penelope Young. Were it not for her ambition and for blindly accepting money from Jack White without properly vetting him when, even Batman states that "Jack White" is a known alias of the Joker, not to mention the fact that she'd been torturing and draining Bane of the venom (which most likely wasn't even pure after he injected himself with TN-1) in his body to secretly create Titan, the chain of events, which ultimately lead to Batman's downfall would never have been set into motion. If she didn't renege on the deal with the Joker, he'd have had no reason to set fire to Blackgate to have his crew moved to Arkham or to get captured himself to retrieve the formula. Batman wouldn't have stopped him, and he'd not have ODed on Titan, and poisoned his blood.
When Arkham City opened, which likely happened far sooner than Hugo Strange and Ra's al Ghul would have expected after the events at the Asylum, Joker wouldn't have ever been able to ship his poisoned blood to area hospitals and to poison Batman.
Then, in Arkham Knight, the 4 infected with the Joker's blood wouldn't have fed into Batman's fears of becoming the Joker himself (after he effectively cured himself from the Titan/Joker blood), which only grew stronger after being hit with the Scarecrow's worst fear toxin he'd ever concocted. Batman's growing irrationality and inability to think properly thereafter ultimately lead to him making the stupidest mistakes in his entire (Arkham) career, and bring about his own downfall.
What makes Dr. Young such an unwitting, albeit insidious villain in the franchise is that she was the one villain Batman never stopped. Batman went up against 8 assassins. He apprehended Mr. Freeze. He stopped Titan Joker, shut down Arkham City, reformed the Arkham Knight (inasmuch as he no longer had the desire to employ a militia and to destroy Gotham City to get to Batman) and he stopped the Scarecrow. Meanwhile, Dr. Young produced Titan under his and everyone else's noses, while he was looking away, pursuing all the "good" villains. By the time the Joker kills her, it's far too late for anything to be done. Without her, Batman would never have "died." I bring this up because it was an observation of mine and I've never really seen anyone do a video about her. Granted, she's not a villain in the conventional sense, or even a particularly bad person. But, it wasn't the police who brought down Al Capone, but the IRS. In the Arkhamverse, it's not the "good" villains who brought down the Bat, but an Arkham doctor.
For the sake of that universe, agreed. But weren't for her, we wouldn't have the games.
It's like saying if Bruce's parents weren't killed this wouldn't have happened.
@@HenriAGS very, very true. How many billionaires does it take to make a superhero? 3. 2 to die and 1 to never get over it.

Apparently Paul dini original plan for Arkham night was to have scarecrow and hush be the main villains, but rocksteady fired dini and went with Jeff Johns instead
Wish they didn't. IMO, the story in Arkham Knight was disappointing (I especially felt the way they did away with Hush in a small side mission was dirty after so much buildup in City).
Did they not have conflicting schedule which led to them going ahead without him?
No, that was all on Sefton Hill and Rocksteady. Jeff Johns had nothing to do with the Arkham Knight.
According to Kwing, Dini wasn't on for last bits of the Arkham City campaign.
Well at least we got hush for a pretty solid side quest so that wasn't scrapped.
Same can't be said for other characters like Zazz for example, who while having two scenes in the game still had his missions scrapped entirely
@@21Handguns”pretty solid sidequest” it’s an over glorified QTE with a mid story
To me, there can never be a better Batman, Joker, or Harley than what we got out of the animated series and Arkham
If only Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League never existed. 😤
I have a complicated relationship with Arkham Knight. There are things that I liked, such as the improvement to combat, better gliding, a badass Batsuit that actually looks terrifying, and actually exploring Gotham City instead of a re-skinned Arkham City map like Origins was. (Don't get it twisted, I still love Origins.)
But, there's also things that I absolutely hate, like the overabundance of tank battles, the misuse of the Bat Family, the entire story should've been about the League of Assassins' shadow war instead of Scarecrow talking about fear for the 1000th time, and the damn Joker sub-plot is massive plothole.
And I still maintain the opinion that the Arkham Knight should've been Damian Wayne instead of Jason Todd.
what joker sub plot
he's literally a hallucination
seems every single person missed the part of the game when batman gets exposed to scarecrow's new toxin
Thanks for providing me with something to watch during dinner later...
Better off just playing the games instead if watching someone nitpick them and shill out to youtube sponsors
I think the whole consensus from the fans is KTJL is that’s not canon and best to make it stay that way. Honestly hoping to see Arkham Shadow when it comes out, the interviews from the fans with the creators you can actually feel the passion for the series and their game. Do I have high expectations for said game, no. Don’t have the console and not going to hype itself for me.
What no do expect that it will definitely be better than KTJL which isn’t that hard, but I’m happy to explore more of a post Origin’s Batman in this game.
Thanks for making these compilations. For some reason, longer videos are more compelling to me so seeing all these combined makes me want to watch them more.
I also had the thought where I was like, oh, why didn't they just fill the tanks with people. But on a recent playthrough I realized the whole plan was for the scarecrow toxin to cover the whole city and the goons had designated safe areas to wait it out in. The tanks were unmanned because they planned to basically go underground so they would need the tanks unmanned in the meantime, was part of the plan the whole time
Arkham Knight is the only game I went to a midnight launch at Gamestop for. Over 1000 hours in this game and nowhere done with it yet
There's a few batman lines from various media that have always stuck with me. Arkham 1 and 2 are great games, but the line that will always stick with me is from city when protocol 10 is active and batman wants to leave to save Talia, but Alfred stops him. "Batman must save Gotham."
its good to see more compilations , any excuse to rewatch your videos is welcome 👍
i would love to see that some sort of "ranking all batman games" if you are still interested in it
Yay! Good to see you back here!
Was craving a new retrospective. Thank you. And I always miss Kevin forever 😢
Excited to watch this video :)
Thank goodness he didn't include Kill the Justice League
I heard that game’s lore actively contradicts whatever the Arkham continuity set up. I feel like Rocksteady just attempted to tie it to the Arkham series for the sake of marketing.
@@twindrill2852 it is for the sake of marketing. the advertisement on the arkham games in steam says "from the creators of the arkham series"

I dont understand why rocksteady didnt let paul dini cook , i admit that hush isnt my favorite batman villain but I trust paul , he gave us good stuff with batman the animated series along with the first two games . WOAH NEW SONIC VIDEO?! I just binged ur whole playlist im pretty excited now. (Ur videos are better than johnnys btw)
I played AA in 2011. Like Borderlands, there was so much I didn't play for ages on 360 even though it was my main console from 08 til 16.
What a game trilogy. I never played Origins but Blackgate was a lot of fun
Unironically great concept here: Batman Beyond Arkham.
WOW !!!! This took a lot of work to make this video.
1:41:00 the random Ace attorney Investigations 2: Miles Edgeworth music caught me off guard
The only thing I didn't like about Arkham Knight was the Arkham Knight boss fight. I felt everything was fine. The bosses fights were all varied and different, better combat, movement, you weren't in the Batmobile as long as people said. However, I do prefer the atmosphere of Arkham Asylum more.
Rest in piece Kevin Conroy gone but never forgotten
The way I found this game was browsing in Best Buy and liking the demo games which is crazy back then and I knew I had to get that game 7/12/24
Gave me something to Edit to, Thank You
You convinced me, I will try the game.
What I like about Arkham Knight compared to Arkham Asylum in Arkham city is the free flow combat is so visceral compared to the previous Arkham games it really looks like Batman is beating the ever loving crap out of the goons. He goes up against and it’s just so fun to watch and execute, a combo.
Really need to replay Origins!
In Arkham asylum you can also change the trajectory of the zip line when already using it
It's not over people, new game coming this year. Arkham Batman should be amazing in VR.
A full length game with stealth, combat, detective areas and traversal.
How many people care enough to buy the headset hell does the fanbase have enough who care about VR?

Well that is what Meta is banking on, this game getting people into VR that is why they funded it, this along with so many good games coming out and a cheaper Quest 3 coming out this year.
A quick glance at the VR community will show many long time Arkham fans like me very excited for this game.
@@21Handguns This game has nothing to do with Arkham VR that was a different studio and it's a less than 1 hour game with no combat from nearly 10 years ago when VR first released.
This is a full length game (around the same length as Arkham Asylum) from the studio that made Iron Man VR.
You might not be aware but VR has changed dramatically since the early days.
To add to the point about Blackgate. There's legitimately good Metroidavanias on the 3DS.
Warner Bros must be allergic to money I mean it’s been so many years and still haven’t gotten a Batman beyond Arkham game
Bro cooked a massive one
Played all of these at launch (minus Origins which I've had on my backlog forever) and all of them were excellent even if a bit flawed. Asylum was one of the most incredible games of it's year, 2009, where I felt that generation of consoles finally started to realize their full potential. I remember City coming out right before Uncharted 3 so that I managed to finish both of them despite real life getting more and more hectic, speaks a lot to their quality. I legit only got Knight because a friend of mine got a free code with their new graphics card and didn't have an interest in it, the launch was rough but my system played it fine thankfully. I never 100%ed any of the games but have always had the urge to give it a try, even if my age it's a very tall order.
The arkham series were the best of my childhood, I never had played the first game though. Should I try it?
I miss the Old Days.
I can't believe we haven't had armored edition ported to the switch, that seems like a no-brainer.
Back in April I got the Arkham collection for a $5.99 PSN sale. Played asylum and city and loved them so much to the point where I bought the original versions for PS3. Despite return to Arkham being my first time playing the games I actually like the og graphics more and deleted return to Arkham off my PS5 mainly because it took up way too much space 70GB total combined. In May I got a PS3 copy of origins off Amazon for like $24 and liked it but the lack of polish overall made it not as good as the first two. And Arkham Knight which I started and finished in June. I completely understand the disappointment but I loved it and so far is my favorite Arkham game mainly because the gameplay felt like it was at its peak just playing the game felt amazing and very polished. I actually like what they did with the Batmobile and kinda liked the tank battles but I feel like how much you like the game will depend on how much one likes or tolerates the Batmobile and the story but despite its flaws I even liked the story. After playing all of the main Arkham games I can proudly say that I’m an Arkham fan though I’m not very interested in Arkham Shadow given that I’m not into V.R. games so I haven’t been following it much. Sorry for typing a whole paragraph😂 doubt anyone will read this.
considering the series ended with Arkham knight and that was excellent and there were absolutely no other games that had the same batman again there was never a fall.
There's a PC mod to play the special Asylum content! No need to compromise!
That’s that new 52 type timeline 1:15:06
2:14:52 My thoughts on the live service superhero games are this. The concept of them works well ON PAPER because they (and this is an odd comparison) feel like a less-cartoony version of the Lego superhero games with a lesser emphasis on puzzles. HOWEVER, in practice they just become an excuse for publishers (and movie studios in the case of The Avengers game) to charge exorbitant prices for cosmetic items. Looking back at The Avengers game, for example, *I* FEEL that most people wouldn’t necessarily mind paying maybe $5.00 for the Captain America: The Winter Soldier costume for Captain America; but it was outrageous that you had to pay an upwards of maybe $10.00 for it (although that has been nullified because in the game’s last update, Crystal Dynamics made all the cosmetics available to everyone for free).
The remaster of this game also runs in 60fps in consoles
To this day, I think the inverted takedown icon in Asylum looks like a spoon.
@1:00:00 true, but at least Joker didn't get shot by Joker Jr.
I would love these games if they weren't stuck on 30 fps on consoles
I like this video. Side note: You say “the game is made for” a lot but then complain how it plays on PC… I find this interesting.
Really good compilation, huge fan of the editing to make the whole thing flow as well as one big video
Its so sad seeing these kind of videos with titles relating to rocksteady's downfall , i cant belive this franchise turned into this . I remember back in batman arkham city days where after the reveal that you can play as catwoman , robin and nightwing , the fandom saw the possibility of rocksteady being in charge of a dc universe game franchise. I personally thought that we would get a teen tians game after arkham knight , just a way to test the waters on playing as a metahuman before we get to the superman game that everybody was begging for .
honestly i know they made entire VR promo about bruce having nightmares about killing bat family and turning into joker so that's why he keeps them away in arkham knight
but i feel like they actually should have been utilised much more
the game itself feels 8 hours too short, so much unused content and actual crime scene is used only once in entire game
maybe instead of focusing on arkham militia thugs saying that they have boyfriends they should have focused more on actually making the full game
can you do a the batman (2004) retrospective.?
The introduction of asylum beats the entire game
To be fair, in my eyes, the tru Arkham series never went down. But when a company tries to continue a franchise by connecting a new game with the older one, and fail, that’s where misconceptions begin. Honestly they should’ve just let Arkham Batman alone and branched off into a different timeline. Why did they have to do that anyways? Batman’s journey in the Arkham universe had a good ending. Leave him be!
Arleen was the best Harley imo.
Controversies with Tara aside, I already never liked her Harley.
Tbh I'm glad we're getting more VAs doing Harley, even if I don't like every new take I hear I'd prefer it than hear the same voice in EVERYTHING.

I played the origins multiplayer. It was an asynchronous multiplayer game. Think dead by day light with guns only batman and robin have to sneak attack. It was kinda bleh especially since asynchronous multiplayer is very hard to balance. It also felt laggy and sluggish as the crooks.
Does anyone miss Kevin Conroy?
Ever since I watched the animated series, I know hear his voice every time I read the comics 😢

Arkham could have gone with the Damian Batman instead of the suicide squad game.i would’ve like a Nightwing or Catwoman Arkham spinoff Game. or another Batman Arkham game with focus on Batman fighting the suicide squad members in boss fights. or a justice league Arkham game would be good.
I think those are good ideas but ultimately I don't think current Rock steady could have done any of those stories Justice going by how bad the writing was in suicide squad. Well that's my opinion at least.
I miss his voice.
I genuinely miss fighting lots of ninja's and martial artist in Arkham Knight.
2:14:55 Yeah that’s not really a conspiracy theory. There’s a video from GDC 2019 that shows Kim Belair, the co-founder of SBI, flat out admitting that SBI intimidates devs into including DEI content, even if including said content would make the story of the game worse. Also considering the report came from Jason Schreier, the guy who admitted that he knew about all the toxic stuff going on at Blizzard and chose not to say anything until he could capitalize on it, I wouldn’t trust anything that dude says at face value.
It'll only fall when the mainline games unfortunately get delisted due to copyright and licensing expirations... and believe me, we shall do our best in preventing such bull. No more Spec Ops: The Lines, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escapes from Butcher Bays/Assaults on Dark Athena, Need for Speed: Undergrounds and Most Wanted 2005s, The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earths, and other unfortunate gems lost by an outdated concept.
saddens me to see the fall of the franchise
this should have never happened
arkham should have ended with knight
no gotham knights
no suicide squad
nothing
it was a huge disrespect
to fans
to batman
to kevin conroy
to people who made comics
and they had the balls to use arkham games on steam to make their wretched announcement
Suicide Squad is so out of place. Literally the Arkham Series was about the warfare between Batman and Joker and that ended with Knight. They even did a call back to previous Arkham games in the credits of Knight. There is no fall of the Arkham Series because the story was already complete. Also the amount of plot holes and the completely changed character designs disconnects suicide squad completely despite them saying it’s connected.
Not gonna lie I think Paul Dini leaving hurt the franchise it just wasn't the same. I wish he stayed on I wanted to see what his version of Arkham Knight would've been. It's a shame what happened to the Arkhamverse it could've been great but Rocksteady wasted their potential. World's Finest or Justice League would've made more sense than Suicide Squad if they wanted to continue the Arkhamverse. I don't know what Rocksteady was thinking but never let them cook again.
Kevin Conroy will always be Batman
Joker doesn't appear in Arkham Knight. Batmans idea of the Joker appears as a representation of his subconscious mind. Big difference
Suicide Squad was a mistake, a big mistake
What fall?
That SS Harley Quinn in the thumbnail is basically a downgraded version of her Arkham version..
Arkham city is my favorite of the Arkham games I enjoyed origins. But best graphics is Arkham knight but dislike boss battles.
Eyy
it sounds like the story elements of the Mr Freeze fight could have been fixed if say Harley infected Freeze with fear gas making him aggressive and causes him to fight Batman, causing a distraction for her to steal the cure
The rise and fall 😂😂 there was no fall it's ended with Knight
Free flow combat was actually done in AC first.
Loved Asylum, City was pretty good, but wasn't a fan of Knight. The story just wasn't there for me.
