Watching After Life has made me appreciate his acting ability so much more. He’s obviously hilarious but his range is incredible in those three seasons.

Hey Ellen great interview. I Have been rescuing animals all my life - from cats to birds to dogs - and they became family members! It's natural for me. I heard years ago that smart people are deciding to refrain from having children. Ricky Gervais is incredibly smart, I think this is an example of this statement being true.
There are also many smart people who do have kids. Ricky is definitely witty and knows himself so I would say he is aware and unafraid to speak his mind. But in smart there are loads of people alot smarter than him. I enjoy his jokes too but don't generalize him being smart to not having kids. He basically admits its out of fear of responsibility.
