Wicked E bikes has a 60 Volt 20 AH for 1,999$ 40 amp controller and over 2,000 watts output. I just bought the cruiser and it does 38 to 39 mph just throttle and 45 mph down hill. You cant beat it.

I like the options for peddle assist and no throttle. Some trails won't allow a throttle (Class 1 only). Maybe with this setting you can ride legally there. 90 pounds pretty heavy though. I do not really want a folding bike. Just 1 point of potential failure, especially if you are really riding it like a mountain bike.

Thanks for another great review and for being a warrior and doing this review during the winter! Looks like there was even some snow dustings on the ground in some of the shots, what state are you in? Man do I really love those 52v Magicycle ebikes. They really know how to put a great package together. This full suspension Deer is a beauty and no doubt will be popular among the off road crowd. For my purposes it would be too heavy / big. 90lbs is really heavy if you are lugging it up a flight of stairs after every ride but if you can keep it in a shed or garage, that wouldn't be an issue. And the upcoming step through model looks fantastic with the rear rack. I agree with you that if the Ocelot Pro had a rear suspension version (with optional lock out and preload adjustment along with decent travel) that would be a nice upgrade over the already amazing Ocelot Pro which on paper is already my favorite of the Magicycle bikes. That was great to see you do the hill climb twice during the test (full charge, and after some battery depletion) to show the real world effects of voltage sag.

  • @kevinnashskitchen3517

Very nice.. Great job doing this review. I would say the Wallke H6 seemed to outperform this bike. But 6 amp more controller.. Even 20 lbs heavier

Nice color! I think it’s just the bigger battery that makes this one stand out!

  • @kevinnashskitchen3517

I think I would take all my electronics off the AR Kepler and just put it on that bike.. Switching out the motor also. 😁. I could use the Kepler battery on the rear rack also.. Have 40 ah 52V 1,000 watt rear hub with a 33amp controller, Magicycle Deer. 😂 no rear rack on that one I see. I wonder if they have the same drop out size?🤔 Ah.. Just the suspension seat on my Kepler is fine. I'll keep it.

Really disappointed in the use of that single piano wire "bracket" on the rear fender, and screws falling off other parts. Those fenders should be metal, too, to be a bit stiffer. I associate these kind of thing with the "new" Schwinn company that went to cheaper and lower quality designs than the original company had. I was attracted to watching this video by the 52v rating of the battery, expecting that to really up the torque and hill-climbing ability of this bike. They have not done a very good job on the driveline engineering, when the speed loss on the hill test is dropping further than bikes with 750W motor and 48V batteries achieve, and also not hitting top speeds that bikes with CADENCE sensors reach.

  • @garysanchezphotography
    @garysanchezphotography Před rokem +1

I don't see the big advantage of a folding bike because of the low ground clearance due to the little stand under the center bracket to hold up the bike while folded. Non-folding bikes are easy to haul in a pickup or on a tow hitch rack. I would love an Ocelot Pro with full suspension. The Ocelot Pro went up the hill faster because the 20" wheel puts more torque to the ground.

I went with a Sun Tour suspension seat post $73 for our Gazelle e-bikes. Delivers a nice ride and it is adjustable so my wife at 135 and me at 235 lbs both have a nice ride with front suspension and seat post adjusted to our weight.
Russ said the rear suspension is not adjustable. If that is true it will be too soft for us big guys and too stiff for lightweights.

seems very nice but at near $700 more than the Cruiser Pro, im not sure your getting much in way of an upgrade. is the rear suspension worth $700 to you? if so you can get a very nice seat post suspension for about $300 or even just a basic one for $100. This is obviously a top of the line bike, and if its your main commuting vehicle id say that yes, the upgrades are worth it as you will use it a ton. If not though, the Cruiser Pro, while on sale, is already at the very top of the price range id go for.

    • @JeremiahMcintosh

I contacted them on this very issue. Most e-bike companies are realizing this and are now coming with 11 tooth free wheel. Magicycle crank is also to small coming in at 48tooth. They should all be minimum 52tooth. So to fully utilize pedal assist on any of there e-bikes you need to change out the freewheel and crank. Rather annoying .
Other then that seem like rather nice e-bikes . No idea how there customer service is. So hope it is great. I hear to many stories of various companies that either do not do anything with valid warranty claims or make you jump through many hoops before they will help you. Hopefully magicycle treats there customers right and handle warranty claims quickly and professionally .

I ordered the step thru last week. I would like to see someone actually do a proper distance test. The display shows current wattage, so if you maintain 300 watts and average 15 miles an hour, then you should see 45 miles on a 1000 watt hour battery. I'd like to see that. Also, can you go through water without causing damage. Let's say a foot deep, like really get this bike wet? Thanks for the review.

This looks like one of the better full suspension, 750w, 20 amp battery bikes out there for a not so bad price with the discount. Does this bike or any of this style ebikes accommodate a 6'3" person as far as leg extension is concerned for peddling only? Most people know that if u can't reach the proper leg extension u will have to waste a lot of leg power on a lightweight bicycle, let alone one of these 90 pound ebikes. I like the 2 year warranty, but most of these ebikes don't have a good CS rep. Hope this one does.

The different classes of ebikes are a stupid idea. What is the point? If there is a need for regulation, it should be by speed only. Even a non ebike can go as fast or faster than ebikes, it depends on the rider, the riders fittness, and also the gearing.
