In the USA Tiamat is underappreciated, but in Europe they are pretty big and their fans come from, goth, black metal, doom, and all the diverse genres the band has touched on. When I was in Transylvania one girl im friends with had more Tiamat than any other band on her pc. Tons of dark love to Type O and Tiamat Im with you there great bands!

Just finished VTMB a couple of days ago and couldn't believe they featured Tiamat in it (as well as Laguna Coil and Ministry). Their album Wildhoney is a genuine masterpiece imo, and I don't throw the term around lightly

First Tiamat song I ever heard. Got me hooked immediately.
Eh, they’re good. Especially the drummer, is exceptionally talented and always has been, but I still think that there are a few that are just a lot better than them. My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, Type O, and maybe even Therion are on Tiamat’s level, if not slightly higher in popularity.

@@zaynes5094 17 years ago I went to see paradise lost and the band that opened the venue was Orphaned Land. I didn't knew them at the time, I LOVED their concert and the Paradise Lost part was just .. meh. Orphaned is better than Paradise to me personally but I still have certain Paradise songs that I appreciate, even though at that time I quit listening to them. There were always other bands better than xxxxx, so later I stopped with that compare thing and my playlists got bigger and funnier eheh
After all these years since the last time i've played VTMB, i still return to this song every year and fall in love with it over and over again > w <

Tiemat is a Swedish Gothic Rock, Gothic Metal, Black Metal and Death-Doom Metal Band in their early days, which began in 1987. The Members of Tiemat are: Johan Edlund: Vocals, guitars, keyboards & theremin; Lars Sköld: Drums; Anders Iwers: Bass & Live; Roger Öjersson: Guitars, keyboards, mandolin & backing vocals; Current Live Members: Rickard Zander-Keyboards, Nicke Andersson-Drums, Martin Powell-Keyboards, Joacim Svalberg-Keyboards, Fredrik Åkesson-Guitars, and Johan Niemann-Guitars. Even though both these bands have similar vocal styles and genres Tiamat was not inspired by Type O Negative but both these bands get their inspiration from the bands like Sisters Of Mercy. Tiamat also has a huge Pink Floyd influence.

My Malkavian loves this song.
Type O and Tiamat don't have much in common. Type O live's mostly from Pete's voice which is in fact unique among all voices in this genre.
Tiamat takes their influences from bands of other music styles, like Pink Floyd. It's a more experimentally based music trying to come up with disharmonic or unusual riffing. Tiamat is in this case absolutely brilliant. Sometimes it takes more than 1 time listening to like their songs, but then you really get caught.
Absolutely on point.
Since playing that game i discovered this and Lacuna Coil, you get to the serious side of metal while listening to different stuff
Awesome song and even more, the guitar in this video is the Zakk Wylde signature Les Paul. Zakk is one of my guitar idols.
