Hey. 124 Spider here. Honestly, if all children in their first school years had heard this song and read the lyrics, I'm sure that today... all of humanity would be much more cohesive and kind to each other. I had never thought about how I got here, today, alive. If anyone still had doubts that Nightwish ARE THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD, right now?. So I just have to say that humanity is no longer thinking for itself. It's the "NEW" AI that everyone talks about, but they don't even pay attention to what it means. NIGHTWIH FOREVER SINCE EVER.

The most part of society is braindead. Tuomas is unique. A poet and philosopher. Every civilization has it's downfall. Nightwish gives me that little bit of hope. Though it might be grasping on to straws, I know I lived my life to the fullest and aware. Nightwish for life 🤟

There is so much going on its hard to take in all at once. There is Tuomas genius composition, Floor's Vocals, Emppu's perfect riffs, Jukka's crunchy bass, the Pneumatic Hammer Kai, and Troy the Jack of all Trades. It's blended in with elements of Endless Forms Most Beautiful, Human:||:Nature, Auri, and even elements of Floor's solo career!! This song is 🌋🌋🌋!!!

That was certainly a journey. I love all the surprises in this song, especially the ending, how everything comes to a halt.
Yes, the lyrics could've gone up a notch or two, but I'm sure Tuomas wanted the listener to focus more on the music.

I found it took more than one listen to get a grip on it and I love complex music like that. I hear elements of songs from Human :||: Nature, not a complaint, it gives a feeling of continuity to where Nightwish are now in their evolution.

Wonderful reaction Nikki, you give the music the respect it deserves, you absorb it and your face shows that it affects you deeply. I knew this would resonate with you because you have an old soul - which is a compliment by the way. I think the great majority of Nightwish fans are similar sorts of people, and we've gone through life often feeling 'other'. Maybe this is partly why we feel so passionately about the band (and to a point Metal generally), we found them, we found each other 🤘

There’s been a bit of a mixed reaction to this, no idea why? To me it represents an evolution of their music in a great way; very creative writing by Tuomas, a masterpiece in fact, heavier but not overbearing.

Yeah, and that's the one thing I really like about Nightwish is that they always have the heaviness but also the smoothness and beauty of Floor's voice that ties it all together so nicely. ☺️

Now that I have had time to think about it, if you imagine a timeline running along your arm and each human is a scent molecule, you can note in general the effect that humans have had in the world not by looking at them and their effect on each other or on the planet, but in this case, assigning a smell to them. What that perfume would smell like would depend how you assign each scent to an action humans take or their effect for better or worse
This is pretty subjective as it would be you assigning the smell based upon what you think to be good or bad, but it is a different way of looking at human history and deciding if it is a pleasing scent or not? This is just my take on this 😊
"Her perfume deafens me" from "Song of Myself", I think Tuomas may have a bit of Synesthesia, along with being a "Highly Sensitive Person"!

Tuomas leaves his music up to some interpretation. It may change with your mood or circumstances. He is a master at that. He can also cause many emotions so your teary eyes are perfectly normal and ok. The music is supposed to move you!🤘🎸
A week with 2-Nightwish nights?? that seems like an idea with possibilities.. here we will be no doubt, almost perfect song my opinion, i think Queen`s voice is a little low on the chorus, supposedly by the band choice, the more you repeat the song it gets you more so, it`s passable that voice detail.. keep rocking and stay safe!

I think sperm whales are prominently featured because they produce ambergris. Basically whale poop. It is used, among other things , to make perfume. Fossilized ambergris are millions of years old, hence the title- "Perfume of the Timeless".
Sad thing is Tuomas writes so poetically about ancestors and those to come etc, but he has no children of his own to continue his “chain”

It's what I expected and I ❤ it. Wish Floor's Voice was more mixed out front And I like Troy but.... Floor needs a singing partner Who can match her 🔥🔥🔥. I wonder if there will be Guest Vocalists on the new album..🤔
I love your Nightwish commitment, they are my favorite band, but I am realistic enough to know that probably nothing on this album will be able to match compositions like "Endlessness" and so many others in the past. Every artist peaks, you can't be as creative as Tuomas has been forever. Compared to their former catalog, this is a bit tiresome, compared to all other forms of music out there, this is almost great. I still look forward to a tour in 2026 and even Marko rejoining in some capacity -"If they can do something about how they manage the business side of things", he says.
I can see if Marko was to come back to the band there would be considerations about the "business side of things" or talks about it but one time guest appearance i don't think so.
Pleasant song, but not a bone chiller….lost a lot of steam last few years. But still pleasant music. Try some Therion, or Dimmu Borgir, or Fleshgod Apocalypse symphonic metal or Epica also…. but indeed those may be too heavy for you
I was a great Nightwish fan....up until the sudden total change of style that seemed to begin with the last album. Now I don't know anymore. Has Tuomas lost his muse? I know some love the new style, but me? Its like a totally different band - and I think it isn't for me.
Every reaction video I see it's clear that the good video is masking the weak song. A lot has been said about it, but the vocal mix is really terrible. "That's the way it should be," say a number of people, well if that's the way it should be you are no good as a producer. This way you seriously disappoint a strong vocalist like Floor Jansen.
Then the song itself, Nightwish ripples on on the old, existing same thing as if there is no more inspiration. This song is a kind of compilation with all kinds of things that have already been done.
I agree with you about the mix! And that the video kinds of masks people noticing that cause it certainly did for me. I thought it was a little muffled or something while I was listening but thought it was maybe just a "me thing" and didn't want to say it lol. But I've seen a lot of people talk about it since posting. I saw Nightwish Arena (@NightwishArena) posted a video where they lifted Floor's vocals a bit. I'll link it here in case you haven't seen it. It sounds much better than the original!

All in all, this song is again a song that will come out much better live, I think, but unfortunately, like the latest reports that Nightwish will not be performing for a long time, we will have to wait a few years for that.
