if you like reductions as much as me, you'll want to learn even more here: czcams.com/video/yGf3YBfx_sg/video.html
so when you say "didja" is it the middle or front-middle (somewhere between the tip and the middle part of the tongue that touches the ridge? or does it not matter? Thank you for another good video Jeff
Hi John! One of the goals of the video is to just show the range of possibilities there are when it comes to producing these sounds. I think that you can produce a very natural sound with any of those tongue positions you described; you may not even need any contact at all. Sorry this isn't too specific, but I really do believe there is flexibility here as long as your placement/breath are right
@@FluentAmerican This is gold actually knowing there is a range of possibilities is actually beneficial Thanks a lot
I cannot use the back of the tongue for these dons tho right? haha
I agree! knowing that there are many options can be very liberating!
Again, I think there are a lot of ways to achieve a natural sound despite "incorrect" mouth position
Are you a native speaker/teacher
@@JasimUddin-pl4nw gotcha! Nope; I speak Italian but have no Italian in me!
Extremely crucial when it come to create reduction phrases I've listened most of time from native speakers didju
yep, always listen for reductions!
