Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

So happy for you both, look how far the barn has come! It's amazing đ I've just raised all my kitchen units up higher off the ground to save my back and I've got so much more storage now underneath.
And you won't have to build legs. Having that space underneath the wine rack would just give a mouse or snake a place to hide and be hard to clean.
If you like my suggestion delete it so you aren't giving your secret away.
The kitchen is turning out to be a beauty! Still impressed with Bee's instruction-decoding skills:)))
Bee must speak Ikea.

Canât wait to see The electric done and your beautiful kitchen complete đ„°
I've seen my Dad do it, and he's in his 80s lol.
Bee and Theo, much love and blessing. You have no idea on how much u both are helping others with ur charm. love u both..
Bee, Iâm so happy that youâre back and looking very fit and beautiful! The kitchen is coming along and will soon be done. Please give Fernando and big hug and kiss for me!
I love how Gingy blends in with the wood of the cabin. Both beautiful!
I love that you planned the colour of all of the wood so that it matches Gingeys fur. đđŸđŸđŸ
A suggestion; on your end cabinet piece, a butcherblock with slots to hold knives in the 'lost' space. Gotta use every space! I just love the entire build you two have done. Beautiful.
A terrific idea. A butcher block for cutting or chopping. No wasted space.
Good idea.
Really great idea!
Great idea!
i love this!
Iâm so proud of both of you for having a vision for a little abandoned stone barn and for pulling it off! Your little home is lovely! You both have more talent in your little finger than I have in all of me! Gingey and Furrnando are looking very fluffy and happy đââŹđââŹ! Your chickens đ are all feathery and beautiful! I would love to have a goat to eat my weeds but I live in a city and Iâm quite sure my neighbors would complain if I had âlivestockâ in my garden. So I can live vicariously through you đđŒ and make do with what I have which is two little dogs đ đ and two California desert tortoise đąđą babies. Life is good đ!! God bless you and all your critters.
A county in the States has a 400 beast flock just to keep the medians clear, so maybe in the future.
I live in the Phoenix area and I also wish I could have some animals. I also have 2 desert tortoises. They come running when they see my me. I have 3 dogs that do keep me busy.
We're getting two baby goats this weekend and I'm super excited. We live out in the country and have lots of areas in our woods that we want cleared. I will be bottle feeding them for a while so they aren't quite ready to eat brush but won't be too long.
@@suedorfman7138 how old are your torts? Iâm new at the tort thing. I only got them in October and they brumated all winter. Do you have a burrow for them?
@@jennifertoliver8433 Iâm in CA and I know they have companies who rent goats to clear land. I love that people are getting back to basics to take care of weed management. We have LOTS of fires đ„ out here.
I love how the cats have to inspect everything you are doing. Great job Theo and Bea! đ„°
It couldn't be done without feline expertise đ„°
The two of you are the epithomy of what this beloved country of mine will always have need of. Thank You for bringing us your youth, talents and grit.
You two are gonna have a beautiful kitchen. Love the way you work together. Reminds me of my late husband and me. Wonderful to see a couple who are friends as well as partners. Keep up your amazing journey
My husband and I have been building raised garden beds and a goat house and there have been moments I thought we were gonna kill each other haha. We have completely different ideas/standards and it can make things challenging but it's all good in the end. We're both still alive and loving each other haha.
So nice to see a couple working together! Great job guys!
I can just imagine how cozy that home is going to be with a fire burning in the stove on a cold winter night.I love how it is all coming together.
I would put the "wine rack" back towards the wall and leave some space to the front. Thus, being it the first of the racks, it will sort of "initiate" the kitchen in a nice curve.
I like the suggestion of another viewer to rise the whole kitchen as you both are tall. I did it with my kitchen and it is much easier to cook when the working area is higher.
I agree! -đ I was thinking it was going to be a chunk of wasted space behind the "wine rack"( or somehow used for not often used things) but setting it back is much better!!! Could even at some point extend the shelves with rounded bottoms.
I agree!
With it at the front they could perhaps install one of those pop up socket towers and thatâd slot in to that void perfectly? Assuming thereâs a worktop going over the whole lot?
I agree about raising the units a bit. My units are higher. The space underneath is covered at the front with the same type of wood as the cupboards. So no need for trying to clean underneath the cupboards. I don't have to lean over to the bench tops, so no stress on my back.
I think it would look really nice if they raised everything up a bit. It looks good the way it is but I would find it uncomfortable to cook on a stove that's too low for my height.
The wood ash should be good for your soil to grow rutabaga, turnips and such.
not to mention, tomatoes!
I'm quite envious of your little stone house, it's just gorgeous & so much character. A credit to you both. Well done! Love seeing the the ambience of the property too, the trees, chickens, animals etc, so peaceful.
Tell Bee to gather up some of that lovely ashes to mix in her raised beds and compost pile
Bee you look good and happy. So nice to see you. I wish you well. Take care and stay positiv. Greetings from Germany đ©đȘ
Thank goodness Supervisor Furnando was on the job! He has such a personality! The kitchen is looking fantastic, Bee and Theo. What a stunning reality your vision of a barn conversion has turned out to be! Congratulations! Have you gone back to swimming in the lake yet? đâ€ïžđ¶đšđŠđșđ»đžđđ„đ
The handles really make the kitchen come to life. Looking forward to seeing the finished project. Lovely to see the goats out & about x
Watch you two work the farm just gives me joy. Tons of hard work but im sure itâs worth it.
Having water on hand while burning is very important and Iâm glad you had that available too!!!
Theo, thanks for explaining about the burn registration. We lived through a wild fire in California so I was worried when you said you were going to burn the broom. Your kitchen is lovely. I can't wait to see you cook something...you're nearly there. You two have come a long way and you made time to produce wonderful videos for us to follow you on your journey. Thank you for that. xo Suzi
I am sorry you have .. I am Californian too and was looking at that rain they were having with real appreciation...
The kitchen is looking great!!!! I have a question, since you both are tall, are you going to raise the cabinets and appliances a bit? Using the beautiful chestnut for both the base and spice rack? Just a thought. I canât wait for the next installment. Love that Fernando is always on hand to helpđž Love and hugs from sunny Arizona đđđ
I 100% agree that you should raise the cabinets by at least a few inches. We did this in our house and it was a game changer. Saves your back, especially when washing the dishes.

That frist cabinet with handles looks amazing đđ€©
What productive day. .It makes your space larger when cleaned up. good team work.
Put your drawers on the end beside the refrigerator and place the coffee rack between the stove and refrigerator. This will leave the nicely finished and full depth side exposed.
That's such a great idea!
Good idea. You want the spices near where you'll be using them, anyway.
@@avivaadler4253 I totally agree. Spices are better higher up near the cooker
What a bummer about having to travel 6+hrs in rain for correct colourâŠ.but this kitchen will get done! Love your determination & that u stay positive! Burning off safely & all the Spring flowers blooming u both look after your beautiful land well with happy animals! đ€đ€©đđŠđșđ
Hey! Once the kitchen units are all attached to each other you'll realise that not all those legs under each of those units weren't entirely necessary. Pop those extras off and use it for your wine rackâ€ïž works every time.
But wouldn't that make it even shorter than everything already is? I'm not entirely sure I know what legs you're talking about haha.
Actually the legs are use in the kitchen in case of a flood you don't destroy the all kitchen, also it helps your feet to go under cupboard
Haha So basically every carcass or kitchen unit has 4 legs underneath that can be adjusted in height to match the height of your kick plate which is the panel that clips to the front to finish off the edges in the kitchen and hide all the space under your kitchen cupboards. But because each unit has 4 feet, one in each corner, when you attach the cupboards together you end up having 2 feet connect at the bottom of the unit in the back and the front. So instead of having 2 feet only 3cm away from each other, you can take the extras off and use them else where. In this way every unit has more than enough support on the feet and you would have enough for the wine rack too đ
It is so nice to having Bea back!! You two work so well together! This is real team work!! And your garden!! Great job on that Bea!! For how you have never had one before, what a great job that was!
The shot with Gingie at the top of the sladder with her fur shining the same color as your beautiful wood - WOW!
Gorgeous!đ
And of course Furnando đâ⏠had to help with the open đ„ fire!
Your home is so beautiful and you've taken all of the things that have come up in stride.
Congratulations and can't wait for your next video!
You all got a lot done in this episode.
It was all very interesting.
So glad to see that Fernando was there, helping out with everything.
Looking forward to seeing that kitchen completed.
Wishing You Well
The two of you make a excellent team. Well done guys. Lots of love from South Africa
Lovely to see Bee back in Portugal with Theo , you two are awesome đ â€đŻâ
You two should be very proud of what you have achieved both professionally and personally!
Just a tip, I've heard that adding wood ash to your planting soil makes it more nutrient-dense for your plants.
Actually it crushed charcoal. Wood ash can be very detrimental to young annuals. It will burn the roots when the water mixes with it and leaches lye.
If mixed in small quantities with compost and side dressed it will help maturing plants.
@@tjeanvlogs9894 Thank you for the information.
Yep!! You heard right
@@tjeanvlogs9894 you put it in the soul in the fall, till it in the spring
What a beautiful, upbeat video! Sooo love your enthusiasm! And what a wonderful job you are doing on your home and landscape!
Enjoying all of your critters! (Maggie)
Always good to have spices next to the cooker and not have the fridge close to the cooker.
Iâm so impressed with the way you always work so well together on projects. The kitchen will be amazing when finished. Mmmm, I wonder what your first meal will be đ€. â€ïž
The purple ans yellow wild flowers are GORGEOUS!
How wonderful seeing things getting done in the kitchen, so nice looking and an easier and a very nice kitchen đ„°
It is good to see you both so pleasantly optimistic in spite of a long stressful car-ride and TWO Ekeas. One exhausts me.
Your little home is lovely! The grounds are coming on very nicely too. You both have worked so hard and have achieved alot.
The kitchens coming together wonderfullyđ€. I'm impressed at the patience you both posses, I would be pulling my hair out đ your land is looking so good as well. You have a great property so quiet and serene.
SWEET! I was glad to see the water cans come out so now you have some wonderful biochar to add to your garden beds! SMART!
Everything looks so pretty...
I think the kitchen units are grand and it's definitely looking like a proper kitchen now. Can't wait to see the Belfast sink go in and worktops put on. Well done to you both on the renovations so far it's looking like a proper home xxxx
Bea your lovely smile lights up the world for me after the terrible week I am having đ the kitchen is looking lovely as winter white đ„°
its looking fabulous. what an excellent result to All your hard work and beautiful vision. bless you lovely community.xxx
Cardboard is excellent for the garden to stop weeds from coming up and itâs great for raised beds
The kitchen is really coming along! Someone suggested putting the wine/spice rack between the cooker and fridge, and moving the cabinet to the end; I think that's a great idea to give the kitchen a balanced look and the matching ends would be a clean look. What do you think? Love seeing how you two are actualizing your dreams! I think you should have a photo of the barn as it was when you were first working on clearing out the inside, to frame and hang on the wall as a reminder of the incredible transformation you have achieved, turning this old stone barn into a warm, light-filled, beautiful, comfortable home! đ
Greetings from the United States. Your home is just lovely! Bea you have beautiful hands!
Truly enjoyed this video. The kitchen is coming along superbly. The goats in the beautiful Meadows are spectacular.
I truly respect that you capture the building process of IKEA furniture without murdering each other.
Your home and land are looking really good! I can hardly wait to see the kitchen finishedâŁđ„° God bless you bothâŁ
Iam so excited to see Bea...back at the barn glad she is feeliñg better the both of u.....
You guys are awesome.
I mean, the portuguese left those places because they could not make a living living there, and here comes people like you making these places come alive again.
Thank You.
Love you brits making these places come alive again
This is so exciting! I cannot wait until the kitchen is complete! It will be Beautiful and sweetly built.
The kitchen is coming along beautifully! The goats are so cute!đ
Your home is coming along so nicely! I am amazed at the skills yâall have acquired through years of building vans and now the barn. What a team! Love yâall!
Keep on inspiring guys. We know your home is nearly finished but we look forward to all the other projects on the land!
I think it's so smart that Portugal makes everyone apply for fire permits, so they're aware of the fires. They need to do that here in California.
Hello dear, how are you doing?
Ginjey is the same color as the wood. He blends in beautifully. The kitchen is going to be amazing.
Everything looks fabulous! Take the other viewers suggestion about raising the kitchens height. It will definitely make life easier. God Bless Y'all đđđđđ.
Love the end when we could hear the fire and the crickets chirping awayâŠđđ
Wow look awesome nice to see you bea you look so ADORABLE THEO you are doing a WONDERFUL job taken care of your beautiful lady awesome VIDEO stay safe and GOD KEEP BLESSING you BOTH
As a silent viewer all I can say that I really love both of you the greatest couple ever seen or heard..
A pleasure to watch your videos and to admire your work, your beautiful creations of our God : the cats, goats, chicken and of course Gingibear and Fernando...đđCongrats đđŠ
â€ïž
Wow! Many, many couples could take a lesson from you two in how to work together. I bet you've saved dozens of marriages just since this aired. :-)
Lol when you said wine rack I was expecting to see an actual wine rack. Everything is on such a tiny scale itâs cute. Love your tiny fridge. đ
In England our IKEA travel time is around 50 minutes. Do love an occasional trip, love looking around their room displays and of course lunch in the cafeteria! Loving your kitchen and bedroom, youâve worked so hard guys đ
Beautiful video. Great job. I so love watching you , was going to say both but love the cats and chickens and goats too. Love watching the whole family.
Your kitchen is looking great. IKEA is an awesome shop. I enjoy seeing the goats, cats and chickens. Well done, it has been amazing seeing the progress from the old barn to how it looks now. :)
So happy to see Bee back home , wish you well , stay strong , you and Theo are such a lovely couple who work well together .. all the way from Trinidad and Tobago West Indies .
Hello dear, how are you doing?
I like the idea of a spice rackđ Iâm Happy Bee is getting her Kitchen.. She has deserved it.đ€đđ Oh yesâ I Loved seeing the cats
Your kitchen is looking great and thank goodness you have your hair cut love your videos thanks for sharing your life đđŹđ§
Hello Bee and Theo! It's good to see you both â€ïž
Hey Bea, I hope you're feeling as good as you look. Theo looks pretty happy, riding the Ikea cart. Ikea, yay, go get lunch. Oh ok, bring the meatballs home. It's always fun to shop, but it would be better if you could get what you guys want. Thanks for taking us on a shopping trip. The kitchen is looking great. Springtime is a lot of work outside but it's worth it. Love the video Love you guys. Stay safe.
If you switch the drawer unit, frig, and wine rack units around you would have a nice finished edge at the proper depth! It looks great as is, just trying to save you some work. A decorative spice rack in the wall might look just as amazing!
Hello dear, how are you doing?
It's looking beautiful i know you two will be glad to see that big project finished....
Hello dear, how are you doing?
Take 2 feet off the sink unit and move 2 feet of the corner unit to under the join with the sink unit so those 2 units share 2 feet. What I do with Ikea kitchens is throw the feet away and make a plinth from moisture resistant melamine coated particleboard. Once you level the plinth, the cabinets just sit level.
Love your work đ
I love your kitchen. Maybe you should build a platform for all of the kitchen to go on. It would be taller and easier to use. My friend built one for my washer n dryer. Much more comfortable to use.
All seems to be going well once you have the correct goods. Kitchen will look great when you finish it. Draw/cupboard handles look nice and match well with your cooker. Take care and stay safe. Best wishes to you all.
Hi Bea and Theo.
Thanks so much for your inspiration. You two are the best.
A few videos back when Bea was in UK, you showed taking care of the animals and filling the chicken waterers, and there was fungi in the bottom, which congregates due to weather conditions. Chickens have normal respiratory problems. I scrub my waterers at least twice a week, but once a week would be good. I know some people never do it, but your chickens and mine are our children and mine donât drink dirty water.
Guys, that pot ash from your burn pile would do wonders in the gardens too. And it's free and organic. đđ»đșđž
Love and hugs from Germany / Hamburg ! You both are amazing ! â€â€â€
I love all the wildflowers! It is so beautiful there.
Happy to see you bea. Keep fighting it. Your winning. So proud of your strength. You are so much stronger than you know. WINNING. : )

hi bea and theo. i enjoyed it so much i am going to watch it again ! thanks for sharing your love story and dyi work/skills who could ask for more not me thats for sure i feel the love !
HORRAY! Kitchen is looking fantastic! Thanks for sharing đ
Itâs all turning out lovely! Donât know how long youâll be waiting for your counter, but if you have boards around they could be put to use temporarily and you can get to work cooking!!!
Another great vlog and I am so happy that you have a nice comfy place to sleep now! Lol! The cats are so cute and happy, you can see how much they love you guys and even better Fernando looks keen on doing the camera work in the future...maybe he should get on Squarespace and have some lessons!! Lol!! (Kisses)
Your kitchenette is going to be stunning and very adequate for a small space. Loved the plans for the wine rack. Not sure if you have finished it yet, as I am a bit behind in watching, but there must be a use for that hollow space behind. Lol. The clean up of the broom gets another task done and so satisfying. God Bless.
A GREAT VIDEO GUYS .THE WILD FLOWERS ARE STUNNING ITS SO NICE TO SEE THE BARN COMING TOGETHER .I MUST SAY YE DID A FANTASTIC JOB ALL AROUND C YOU NEXT WEEK
Theo! What's happened?! You have a haircut, a new cap and tweaked "facial growth"... and you're looking so much younger!! Can I pop over and ask you both to do mine, please?! On this ageing pensioner I'm sure I MIGHT look lovely!! What do you think? Great stuff. Love it all and admire you both to bits. Love and cuddles to Gingey-bear and Ferdinand!
Great pivots from unexpected wrong-colored doors AND postponing screwing the corner cabinets together to hanging the correct-color doors đđ»ââïž. Trip to Lisbon was not for naught ~ how else to spend a rainy morning but to get what you need while it was in stock to be gotten? đđđŒ Luckily you had other parts of the kitchen to carry on with until the electrician comes to bring in your electrics. đđŒ
Theo, your freshy fresh haircut and beard trim look as smart as your new cabinet builds. You were waitin' on bae Bee to be back to git hansumđ·đ»ââïž again, yah.
Bee you are so right everyone is still a child at heart . It is so good to see Theo have a little fun . Bee and Theo the kitchen is going to be gorgeous . You and Theo are doing a wonderful job putting it together . I love seeing you too work together .
Goodness, canât wait to see the kitchen finished, so exciting. đâ€ïž
Since the wine rack is on the end you could make a bookshelf or other small cubby stack (running behind it) facing out toward the chair. In case you donât need a full 24â of spice storage. Just saying...
