Crazy to think 10 years later Brentford are about to finish above Chelsea in the Premier League table whom themselves won the Europa League that year. whereas Yeovil will start next season in the National League South. 5 divisions apart.

As a Brentford fan I remember being devastated after this game and now 9 years on I look back at it and the contrast between the success of both teams since and it’s absolutely crazy 😂

Ten years before and stretching back to the early 80s we’d be with the other 3 to 4 thousand who would watch Boscombe at Dean Ct . It’s just as well that soccer teams are blessed with those faithful souls whom can find the time most of the time . 🙄from Hordle in SW new forest

@@grahamd4764 I don't think that's true - Yeovil are a club with the resources simply to be in the conference, so for them to reach the Championship is nothing short of spectacular. In terms of over-achievement it's not far short of Nottingham Forest winning the European Cup.
Now Brentford are close to the Premier League and the club that got promoted instead at the time, my club Doncaster Rovers, are on the League One title race. So maybe we'll face each other if Brentford fails and we don't but if both get promoted, then we are all happy this season 😊

You've managed to sort yourselves out and get back to where you belong, I hope we can do the same thing and get back to the Football League one day

we didn't really expect much from the championship, we were really just there for the experience, but all the players wanted pay rises that we were far from being able to afford so we let them go.
Bees invented the play offs yet have failed to win them 6 times !! On three occasions they finished in what would have been a promotion place !! Doubt they will ever make it back up
