I was at this game yesterday! Indonesia played very well; they were committed and competitive and gave a really good account of themselves. Fast forward a few years and they might get a result against Iraq. That said, Iraq were simply the better side and 3-1 was a fair result in the end. The Indonesian fans seemed to be almost all young families, at least near me anyway.
Indonesia will get a demographic bonus in 2030, that's why you see many young people whether as football fans or football players.
As an Iraqi I have great respect for that Indonesian team they really played well. It's their first AFC in a long time yet they delivered

As an Indonesian, even though we're still unlucky, our team has improved a lot compared to what happened in Basra last November. Regardless of our performance, I'm still be proud of them, and hopefully the youngest team in this tournament will continue to develop in the future and unleash a shockwave in Saudi Arabia 2027.
I also respect Iraq because of the fact they were just the brothers. The last time Indonesia played in Asian Cup, we were the co-hosts along with Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia (it's also more ironic, considering this was the last time all 4 ASEAN countries participated in the Asian Cup without a qualification). Iraq won that tournament in Jakarta after beating Saudi Arabia thanks to Younis Mahmoud's header. That victory was considered one of the greatest underdog stories in sporting events, apart from Leicester City and Greece, amid the country's political situation at that time.
Last, but not least, we are still much better than Malaysia. Our country's rival, although having a great results against tougher oppositions in a friendlies, not to mention being 1st in the World Cup qualifiers, got slapped entirely 0-4 by Jordan. Thailand saved the whole ASEAN in Asian Cup, beating Kyrgyzstan 2-0.

Indonesian team is new and fresh, they need more time to improve. The young generation is great, most of them playing abroad and they still had player who can’t play in this tournament. Maybe in 1 pr 2 year they going to be more powerfull and mature.
Asian cup is so underrated compare to other tournaments. There is a deep rivalry in it that even goes back to history before football. When "some countries" lose to another country they have internal conflicts with it's very personal that it can cause a turmoil.
