- In today’s video, I play a metroid game and whine about the map being confusing.
Did you like what you saw? Sub and leave a comment letting me know! I’m trying to work harder and make longer videos but as it stands the videos are built around the script so it is what it is. For now. Join me next time for a review of Grim Fandago Remastered or something, idk.
RIP Yuzu and Citra. Long live emulation

Bro has a TTF2 as a favourite game. Man of culture
Really great video! Can’t wait to see what you make next! This also reminded me how great Dread is, I really need to go back and finish it!
Rare youtube algorithm W (for me, i mean. God damn only 18 views? I got lucky)
Haha thanks! Glad you enjoyed :)
Awesome video dude! Cant wait to see ur channel grow, cause this is quality
GIMME THAT SHIT RIGHT NOW

I honestly had the best time playing through Dread. I ran into a bug with the final boss, but it only happened on my first playthrough. Great video.
You wouldn't happen to have a link to that program you mentioned; would you? Oh, have you heard about the #stopkillinggames thing going on? Emulation is true game preservation.
Ryujinx can be found online! Have fun!
Nice video about dread but did you seriously end it with a recommendation to emulate it on pc? After recommending the latest game from a struggling series?
I played dread a while ago and after catching up on the rest of the 2D Metroid games this year I think it was the best the series has to offer. If you really enjoyed it I would also recommend the new Prince of Persia game and the Ori titles. I think all three of those games outdo Metroid Dread for me but everyone is different.
Tell me you don’t play Metroid vanias without telling me you don’t play Metroid vanias
I've been into Yoku's Island Express lately and have been loving it! But in seriousness, you're right. I have a backlog of games to get through, and a fair amount of them are metroidvanias.
@@Qikx I loved metroid dread and thought it was peak metroidvania. Until I played Hollow knight. And man I can't put the game down its so amazing.
bloodborne is the dark souls of britain
I remember a tweet where someone said Bloodhorne is just a story of someone dealing with the existential dread of having to spend a night in Britannia
Hear me out: Earthbound Beginnings.
Literally the worst in its series but ok
@@calebeedude5331 Heathen. Mother 1 has a killer soundtrack, grounded characters, multiple beautiful love stories of both romantic and familial nature, no 'chosen one' garbage like Mother 2, a world that ks fully open from the moment you recruit Lloyd, a bunch of modern sensibilities in its save, fast travel, and loss penalty features, and skips on the truly outlandish stuff of the sequels for a more intimate and real experience.
This guy covers it well: czcams.com/video/6tD_XDvZ_gg/video.html
I really can't agree with play time being used as a metric for a game's worth, especially with Dread's quality, and its roots in optimization of routes. There's other games out there with far more to do which extends the time it takes to 100% them, but are full of bland, repetitive filler content that exists purely to _justify_ the argument that time spent in a game is where your money's worth. Destiny 2 has _thousands_ of hours of content within it, but even the excellent details within it are pulled down by the fact that it feels like such a drag to play on the larger scale that the good details don't feel worth it, let alone the amount of time you pour into it. Mario Maker 2's story mode is a lame way of teaching the player how to create levels, and takes no time at all to 100%, which would absolutely prove the game not to be worth buying under the time/cost ratio, but it simply doesn't function with that metric because the focus is on UGC. Dollars per hour just isn't a reasonable way to value _any_ game, and propping it up disincentivizes judging a game by the merit of what it attempts to achieve, how it attempts that, and whether or not it succeeds.
Excellent point! I realized these flaws, which is why this isn't a dollar per hour review, though I would mention that playtime is still an incredibly important thing to value in any game (case in point: MW3 (2023) is an incredibly short game for an unreasonable price) but I agree!
seraching.
*promo sm*
Its not even the top 10 of that genre on switch. Ori 1 and 2, Hollow knight etc to name a few are far superior to Metdroid Dread. It's an okay game but is very short and the parry makes the game ridiculously easy. I played through without parrying unless it was essential to advance.
I have heard great things about Ori, though I'd say it reminds me a lot more of Rain World, and I'm still nowhere near finishing that can of worms, haha!
Metroid dread and both oris are my top 3 Metroidvanias. Phenomenal games. Hollow knight was meh, felt too big imo. Def an amazing game but not my thing
I have a love/hate with Dread. Dread is AMAZING. But because it's on Switch, it's freaking 60 dollars, and it's 8 hour game. That is NOT cool imo for ANY game. Games that short need to be $39.99 tops. I gave it a pass because of what they did. Going back to the original roots and doing it WELL. I couldn't NOT buy Dread, and I'm betting that's what Nintendo was counting on.
Got my 10 year old to play it, then we started taking turns by logging out and in of our profiles, 30 mins at a time. A week later I got the NES and SNES hooked up and he's playing NES Metroid and Super Metroid, on the original consoles, on a 27" Sony Trinitron I have. THAT made me happy.
Not gonna lie though, you're Top 10 is making me hurt. That's Top 10 video games EVER? Personally, I'd let 3 of those slide LOL. To each their own of course, and mine has RPG's on it, but where's Super Mario World, or Super Mario Brothers 3, or Mario 64? Super Metroid? Castlevania's, Halo's Skrim's and DOOOOOOOOOMS?
Cheers lol
You're talking to someone who grew up with a very limited games catalog; my Xbox 360 had Portal 2 and Brütal Legend and such. Never was much of a Nintendo kid!
@@Qikx Ya I always auto assume anyone referencing old school Nintendo was born in the early 80s like me LOL
