Mr. Newburger is to be commended for his difficult work in helping the families. He puts a new light on the crash itself and is a shining star in the at times tarnished world of trial attorneys. Thank you Mr. Newburger and the people responsible for posting this.

UTA 772 is one of the scariest plane incidents, to me. When an airliner is targeted by a bomber... and that airliner is destroyed mid-flight, it hardly matters where it is. But the idea of this thing happening over one of the true "wastelands" of the planet, hundreds of miles from civilization and 7 miles in the air... it captures my imagination and fears in a powerful way. You'd be hard-pressed to find a place on Earth that has LESS people near it. It's just terrifying to me. Ordered this book on Amazon just now. I wish there was an audiobook - but ansi soit il!

13 ESSO employees were on the plane. Our cook, named Colin from the Guernsy Isles, was on the plane as well as several others I knew. I was in the U.S. on rotation at the time & saw the report on Peter Jennings news at the time. My fellow pilot had flown them from Sarh to Jamena that day & watched them takeoff. Later, ESSO chartered a 737 out of Amsterdam to fly us back & forth. Very sad tragedy. Colin was a great guy & my friend.

This flight had 13 ESSO Oil Exploration employees & contractors onboard. Shortly thereafter, ESSO began chartering a 737 out of Amsterdam to Jamena for safety reasons for crew changes.

@@wkdravenna She did help get him killed but it certainly wasn't for justice for the victims. It was because he was manipulating his currency to compete with the US dollar and the Euro.
