Unfortunately our Lebanon series is not off to a great start. Getting sick while on the road can be a real challenge and a little scary. Going out to the pharmacy in the middle of the night alone with no cell phone service to get medicine for Nate is not something I thought we'd be doing this week :(

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this CZcams channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
The way Nate said "be safe" (8:27) omg
@DhruvilParikh - Too sweet right!?!
Omg... I knew I wasn’t going to be only one. That hit my heart like a brick. 🥰🥺🥰
That was so sweet. Hits u hard
just watching this for my first time but its hitting me a little differently that your others after watching the video of the explosion here this week
I've tried to watch other CZcams couples and families, but Kara and Nate will forever be my go-to! Like doesn't anyone agree? Like. Their relationship is just what I strive for in comparison to other couple dynamics. ❤️
It's great to see all these places and asking my mum about it. Turns out I was baptised in the cathedral at 5:01 .
That is so crazy!
lmao it be like that
I was born in 1971 and was in middle school and high school throughout the 1980s, so Beirut and Lebanon have been ingrained in me as a dangerous place. Good to see it isn’t! I read some articles how it is now one of the safest and most religiously diverse countries in the Middle East.
You have to visit again. I am french and Lebanon is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to !
It is safe, people are so nice & obliging! 👍🇦🇺
@@JonathanParis1 we thank u French people for helping us build our country and westernize our society and giving us independence! 🇱🇧❤🇨🇵
not for isrealis
Also, you never have to top your last video with something more... anything. You guys started as wanderers in new countries, and that was the original core of this channel. I think it's always nice to bring it back to your roots every now and then, so I absolutely ADORE when you go out exploring without a plan. You never have to worry about impressing us (at least in my opinion) because everything you guys do, and the content you bring us, is always top notch. ❤️
FireCracker3240 EXACTLY!
oh no!! being sick on the road is the WORST 😓glad you guys were able to deal with it and enjoy the rest of Lebanon!!
Yeah when i went to lebanon last summer i got really sick and was sick for a while bc of the wheather change its extremely hot there and in ny its just cold
bronwyn nicole i got sick so much on the road then i just buckeld up
Was just watching this amazing video when I saw the tragic explosion in Beruit, praying for their city and the wonderful people of Lebanon right now.
I hv lost all family, living in v worse sickness alone,no one is around to lookafter😭😭😭,can anyone take me away?
Thx my mom lost her childhood house in the war and when we went to Lebanon she saw how they fixed it and she was so happy that she started crying
I can’t get over how perfect Kara and Nate are for each other
I LOVE Beirut. Lebanon has some of the best food ever!!
Food, but nothing else
the others actually no you just need to know where to go
Perioddddd
@@sameersalaman everything else lmao
I eat such food every day!
#lebanese
I love when you guys include some of the not so cheery and fun parts of traveling. It shows the reality of what it takes to not only be a full time traveler vlogger. It shoes that you’re real people. You have bad days and you feel low but despite all odds you guys make impeccable content. I felt for Nate and how awful that must have been. The sad music was a nice touch lol. 👍🏻 glad to know you’ve recovered.
That story about the mosque and the church is so beautiful. I want to visit Beirut so much now, it's so amazing that Lebanon came through such a horrible period in history.
This particular mosque is very new. The church right next to it is centuries old. I just wanted to point out they got this wrong in the video. What they probably meant was the rebuilding of the church's tower. In my opinion this mosque is overrated there are much more beautiful mosques that have more history in Lebanon.
@@MB-cu5lr I personally really appreciate this mosque, firstly bc of its location and placement next to the church as well that it is a lanmark and iconic figure for the thawra, same thing for ryad salemeh statue and martyr square. I mean the entire location there is so unifying, and this mosque and church have such beautiful representation that just compensates and puts them on a standard that impossible for any mosque or church in lebanon to reach
I’m watching this after the explosion in Beirut
looking for this video also after explosion in beirut lebanon
yes ya haram
Inshallah they are able to build Beirut back up even better than before and address the issues which led to that catastrophic event ...
So sad & scary
Indigo Traveller went there recently and documented it really well on how it’s been like after the explosion.
Nate’s illness was so scary to hear about on IG. I can’t imagine being in a foreign country and thinking about what might need to be done if things got worse. Thankfully they didn’t though and it was great that y’all could get back out there and explore.
I love y’alls channel for that exact reason as you stated Kara. You guys open my eyes to other countries that I might not understand or know enough about. And I know I’ve said this before so I don’t know why I’m constantly surprised but every country ends up being beautiful in its own way with its own history and story to tell. So THANK YOU guys for sharing this amazing world with me😊
Stay you 😘
I love that when Kara was leaving, Nate was still concerned about her safety as he was so sick.
I think used to be known as “paradise” in the Middle East before the civil war. It’s great that you are exploring it, and giving it some love and good vibes. Thanks again for sharing your adventures
I'm from lebanon and thank you guys to visiting us!!!❤❤❤
Get well soon!! 😓
Try Lebanese cuisine there. Yummy 😍
when I was 19 I moved to Oregon from Cali with my boyfriend (now husband of 21 years). He went out of town for a long weekend pretty soon after we moved and I got sick . I don't think I had ever gone to the Dr on my own or even called to make an appointment. I cried "I want my mommy" so forlornly, all by myself. I still remember to this day. The fear was intense and I was just in Oregon, not across the world. So I totally get it.
Wow re-watching this after the explosion is so sad:( pray for Lebanon!
Noooo! That’s my biggest fear 😮 getting sick 🤒 out of my country.
I’m happy to stay home in the USA and watch Kara and Nate😀🥰
Cathy Greenia bring medicine if you scarred then
@@bigpapabouche They pretty much have medicine anywhere you go. Usually cheaper than in the US. It's very cost-saving to get sick abroad.
A similar thing happened to my dad a few weeks ago when we went to Aruba! He had a cold before we left that was almost 100% better before the flight there. He started getting a bit of a rash on the flight but we didn’t think anything of it. Then he got super sick our first night. Took almost three days to go away and he ended up with hives all over and was also nauseous like Nate. The worst part was standing outside a pharmacy for three hours (after it was supposed to be open) . Then the pharmacists were mad that we were waiting even though they were supposed to open 3 hours prior. Getting sick internationally is definitely a memorable thing and quite an adventure....
Poor Nate! It is scary being sick in a foreign place. Glad you were able to continue the city tour.
Love you Guys hopefully Lebanon will become better for you
I have always been interested in Lebanon because my city is full of Lebanese people that have emigrated to Colombia since the 1800 (my grandma came in the 60s) but I have never thought of traveling there. Now I'm planning my nex vacation to Beirut.
11:50 the man in the background 👌🏻😂
😂😂👌
Get well soon! I'm so sorry you had to go through that :( Love you guys
Amazing and wonderful video! I love your videos and the camera quality and editing is absolutely amazing! I just want to thank y’all for making my day exciting and wanting me to travel! ❤️❤️ Condolences to Nate!
I love u guys so much!!! And I hope u feel better Nate!! Get well soon💕
Please never apologize for falling sick. Such is life of travelling to unknown places, comes with the territory. However, it seemed really scary though, and I'm glad that Nate is all better now. Please rest well and take care of yourselves!! It was still a really great vlog:) Beirut is so pretty with so much history!!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Thank you for sharing this guys! You got so much love for each other it's so lovely to see x
Woah! The end with the sunset time lapse is amazing.
Always love the post credit scenes of your videos. Love from India 😍
Bless your heart sweetie. I totally feel for you. There is nothing worse than nausea. Kara you are such a good caretaker!!! I loved when you (Nate) said “be safe”. You guys are such a special couple. Just love you guys!!!
I first heard about Lebanon when I was in Jordan. It's DEFINITELY on our family bucket list now. My husband, myself, and my son are starting our full time travel journey in a few weeks (and documenting it all). :) Very excited to visit Beirut.
I love the fact that your channel is growing! Makes me so happy we can support you in this way
I’m so sorry you went through that!! How frightening! Glad you are on the mend!
I love your videos so much! Hope you feel better!
Glad, your better Nate. Kara you did a good job
Love this format of exploring videos, thank you! Even though you are well now and in Mexico, sharing the realities of travel is one of the reasons you are my favourite travel creators. Stay safe and well!
Wow...yeah its always frustrating getting sick while traveling. Especially in a different country. Glad you got it under control and continue enjoying the city.
I love that you guys didnt put any annoying ads in the video. Thumbs way UP!
Glad that Nate recovered and kudos to Kate for being such a strong girl and taking care of him 🙏🙏🙏
Tenzin thinley u mean Kara? 😅
Luca 😬! Yes, Kara. I always thought it was Nate and Kate and has a nice rhyme to it 😂 my bad. Thanks for pointing it though 🙏🏻
I love this channel so much❤️ it’s so inspirational how you travel and it would be so fun to go to some of these places! I love how respectful and educated of their culture! Keep up the good work❤️
Glad you're feeling better Nate and that you got to enjoy the city :)!
❤💕💕💕Hey! I was just watching your video from jordan and then came across this one . Your each video seems to be really attractive and I really feel your videos different from other bloggers . LOVE YOU GUYS !!!💕💕💕
Get well soon Nate❤️ Beautiful country.
Goodness, how terrible for Nate! And for you having to watch it Kara. Hugs to you both! I love seeing your love and care for each other. We understand bad sick days and can wait for videos. Please take care of yourselves and enjoy when you can.💖
Thnx you brought back some fond memories of Beirut. It was nice seeing the places once again. I spent a year in Lebanon. Amazing country
I love these unplanned vlogs....I also love you guys, serious couples goals
Happy you enjoyed it! It's a good thing we didn't have too many plans haha😂😷
Getting sick when you are traveling is no fun at all, hope you guys are doing well. The food in Lebanon looks so good. Thanks for another amazing vlog.
Hope you're feeling better Nate. I love watching the locals behind you. Watching everyone just live their life is so cool.
Glad to hear you are feeling better! Awesome video. Looks beautiful there.
After today Beirut can never be the same
Hello from Australia!! Love you two and your travel journey, with each video you upload my travel envy grows! 💗💗
Hey Josie! Much love all the way to Australia! :)
I prefer no planning, My appreciation for your vlogs stems from your early explorations. Don't think you have to one up yourselves. I love you guys without all the frills... You guys get an A+ for this vlog.....Glad to see you guys are well.
I can’t believe I have caught up to your uploads and watched all 608 vlogs!!! I love your way of seeing and documenting the world and your Italy, Santorini and Galapagos series are my absolute favourite!!! I hope you have the best time this year and I can’t wait to see more from you!!!
I hope you feel better Nate and I love you guys so much 😚😚
Thanks for opening our eyes to a beautiful city once thought of as a war-torn hell.
I want to go to Beirut!!!!
john crawford I actually live here
In chiyah
It’s really bad nowadays
I love this kind of videos! More organic and natural ! They're so relatable. Love watching you guys. Hope you get well soon Nate :)
This is why I love you and follow you. I want more of these! Makes me nostalgic.
Gorgeous sunset at the end of the vlog!
Hope you feel better nate!
you are the only travel videos I watch and I love it, also adore that you guys show everything, some travel youtubers try to always show a perfect picture and never show some of the real problems you might face, like getting sick, dealing with weird taxi people and so and on, and I love you guys for that.
It's gorgeous there and a lot more modern than I would have expected. Glad Nate is feeling better. Safe travels, you two!
Get well soon Nate!!! Best Wishes from India
Wow, when Nate gets sick, he goes down hard. I'm glad he got better - being sick in a foreign country is scary.
Sarah Butler
It’s just change in climate !
Get well soon ♥️♥️♥️ happy travels you guys
Happy to hear Nate is feeling better Thanks for showing all sides of travel Stay safe
Of all the travel vloggers on CZcams to follow, I follow you because of YOU and your unique perspective. Be you! It's what you do best! :-)
Take care of your health. And waiting for more beautiful videos.
Feel better Nate!!! Love y’all!
I’m so glad you are feeling better Nate!
*Beirut looks fascinating!*
It is the most beautiful and charming city I have ever been to !
Thank you for this video. I've really been curious about how you guys handle illness while travelling. Glad things improved. Safe journeys!
So so glad you're feeling better!!!
What a gorgeous sunset at the end! Thanks for another great vid!
"Take only memories and leave only footprints" thats what i follow after watching your videos
The sweetest thing on this vlog, is when Nate said be safe!
An amazing vlog as usual! Hope you guys are having an awesome time at the beach surfing! Saw the insta stories, Nate seems to have mastered the talent!
Happy traveling!!
Love watching your vlogs! I’m also a business administration major. I graduated back in December and then my husband got orders to Hawaii! This is the farthest I have ever lived away from family. We spent about a month living in a hotel when we got here while waiting for our house and I got sucked into watching your videos all the time! I love reading your blog posts/emails. I was fascinated by the recent Q4 income and expense report. It’s so much more interesting to read and understand when it’s not being taught in a class, haha! I love seeing it applied in the real world.
Happy travels!!
I'm so glad you are both OK! What a blessing to have Nate's Mom to call. A nurse who raised him. The two people who know Nate best, conferring. He was in good hands.
Loving the sesame seeds on top of the falafel!
the best 😍😍😍😍
Looks like Lebanon should be visited by much more tourists. The history must be so interesting.
Definitely looooove the food and hopefully Nate got better! 😊 safe travels and enjoy!
Lebanon has a great history and a lot of historical places, do your research if you're interested
Glad you are both well and safe! Even though Nate was sick I do love this old style of vlog!
Love the new video, sorry Nate got so sick.
I absolutely believe Lebanese food is the best. I grew up with a Lebanese best friend. Her family came straight from Lebanon.
Ughhh I loveee Lebanese food
I saw your Instagram story I'm so happy that you finally got to see your sister😄😄 have fun in Lebanon enjoy your travels, also I was wondering if you remember me because I have commented on some of your other vidoes 😄 have fun I hope Nate gets better
Back luck guys (especially Nate!) Thanks for your Jordan Videos going there in the next few days so really helpful!
So glad nate is feeling so much better x
Many other nations could learn from the wonderful people of Lebanon, respect, tolerance and understanding makes for a much happier world.
Nate was lucky, his angle was by his side :)
Lebanon is literally an example of a country not to follow.
I'm lebanese and I was really excited for you guys to post this vlog but it's sad that it's off with a bad start. I hope you will enjoy the rest of your journey in Lebanon. I would have recommended to stay at a hotel in Downtown next to Beirut Souks and then go to Sour (in the south), Faraya (in the mountains) and the beqaa.
Yeah same
I know, we were SO excited about this series and hate that it's off to a bummer start! But don't worry the next one is ALL positive :)
@@KaraandNate that's great to hear
Very beautiful and great hope you feel better Nate!!
Please don’t ever feel like you have to top any precious video! We love getting to discover the new places as you do and love the unplanned days as much as the planned activities. We just love you guys!!! Thank you for making these! They’re really the highlights of my day!
Hope nate get better soon
Love from india 🇮🇳

So sorry Nate’s sick! That happen to me last year on vacation luckily it was my last day! Thanks for taking us along everywhere you guys go.
Wow, massive explosion in Beirut toda☹️
Early❗️Love you guys so much❤️ and I’m even earlier than my notification😂😊
❤😊
Love you both. Sending love and healing light.
I've been watching for several years and have just recently gone back to catch up on your older episodes! You've grown so much as creators! I love the older episodes so much, and I believe they have a very charming and endearing quality! Simply wonderful!
