  • Enjoy this beautiful #shorts tutorial on how to dry flower bouquets like a pro!
    Here are the simple instructions:
    1. Tie the bouquet into a bundle using cotton or other natural fiber string or twine. Rubber bands do not work as well because the stems will slip once the flowers start drying and shrinking. The twine has a natural texture that adheres to stems a lot better.
    2. Hang the flower bouquets upside down from a strong rope or rod and space the bouquets so that there is good air circulation. The better the air circulation, the faster the flowers will dry.
    3. Hand flower bouquets out of direct sunlight as the sunlight will bleach the flower colors
    4. When the flowers and stalks are fully dry (crispy) spray a bit of hair spray or floral preserving spray to help lock out moisture.
    5. Make decorative wreaths, hand bouquets, and resin flower art with your dried flowers! Be creative!

      This method of drying flowers does a good job of retaining the flowers' original color. However, the best method which keeps the most color is using silica sand to dry the flowers with.

    Question about bugs if you cut the flowers from outside, do they naturally go away as you dry or can you spray with a natural repellent like essential oil, etc. Thank you!

    • @EdenMakers
      @EdenMakers  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Hi and thanks for watching!
      To get rid of any bugs on your fresh-cut flowers, here are a few options:
      1. Shake or gently tap the flowers.
      2. Use a soft brush to gently remove pests.
      3. Rinse with water: A gentle spray of water can help dislodge insects and their eggs.
      4. Soak in water: Fill a basin or container with lukewarm water and submerge the flowers for a few minutes.
      5. Neem oil or Insecticidal soap.

    Hi... Is that flower dont get fungus to many long time?

    • @EdenMakers
      @EdenMakers  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Hi and thanks for watching!
      Yes, dried flowers can still be susceptible to fungal growth under certain conditions. While the drying process removes much of the moisture from the flowers, it may not eliminate all of it. If dried flowers are exposed to high humidity or damp conditions, there is a risk that fungi, such as mold, can develop.
      To prevent fungal growth on dried flowers, it's essential to store them in a dry and well-ventilated environment. Keep them away from areas with high humidity, and store them in a cool, dark place.

    Can all flowers be dried this way?

    • @EdenMakers
      @EdenMakers  Před rokem +1

      Yes, all flowers can be dried hanging upside down, but keep in mind that there are some better methods for retaining color for some flowers than for others.
      For instance, white flowers tend to oxidize and turn brown or an ocher color.
      to keep this from happening, the best way to dry white flowers is to use silica sand.

      Hi Tanya, Sorry to hear you can't see the instructions. Here they are:
      1. Tie the bundle of flowers tightly with cotton or natural string (rubber bands slip when flowers dry & shrink).
      2. Space flower bundles for good air circulation and faster drying.
      3. Don't put into direct sunlight. It will bleach the flower color.
      4. When flowers are dry, spray with hairspray to preserve them.
