These lyrics are so beautiful. I love how selfless and supportive they are of the other person. Most songs are about the singer but this one... it's encouraging someone she cares about in their budding relationship. This is a song you send to your friend who is timid about love and you just want the best for them, or your friend who just came out of the closet and is experiencing the right romance for the first time, or even your loved ones who are getting married and you want them to feel your support. This is the ultimate platonic, "I'm happy for you, I want the best for you, and you are a wonderful human being" song.

Ok bad joke hahaha. So, for me this song is about somebody that has been hurt before (in a past relationship) and now has found a better person but can't admit it as is still healing. I would say that 'somebody' is talking with a friend, which is the one singing the song. So, the friend is trying to know which are the insecurities of 'that somebody' that is able to figure it out to be with this new person, or not, and it's trying to make 'that somebody' see that, as a friend, he has never seen 'that somebody' happier than with this new person, which is true love. That's why the friend says to let it go ('every time that you've been hurt before'), to don't overthink it and trust the feeling, and not to waste, or fake, this true love that is here.
I hope I've explained my point of view. This is only what I understand from my own perspective, the real meaning of this song can be completely different but I don't know which is it.
