- I can’t stop playing with these things! These CollectA prehistoric invertebrates are beautifully sculpted with nice detail, and brings me back to when I first opened the very first pages to my very first dinosaur book.
Having looked at the trilobite, we now look at two more models: the extant Nautilius Pompilius and the very extinct Pleuroceras, or ammonite. These two are look quite similar in many respects, and I always confuse the two, and in this video we look at how these creatures are brought to life by the wonderful sculptors at CollectA, and I’ll throw in a couple of tips on how to differentiate between them!
Good news! I miscounted the arms on the Pleuroceras ammonite, and there are in fact TEN arms. So no misses there by CollectA at all!
Cool!
Were did you buy it?
@@alansalazarortiz-braden4677 I bought these from Everything Dinosaur. If you live in the States, then check out Dan's Dinosaurs!
@@DinosDragons oh ok cool
@@DinosDragons thanks
The Pleuroceras also works great as a 1:30-1:40 scale Parapuzosia!
Haha wow! You definitely know a lot more about these creatures than I do! I completely forgot about Parapuzosia!
Very well done review, DinosDragons.
On another note, almost to 1k subscribers, good job, chap!
Thank you for your kind comment Mark! I didn't realise it until recently that I'm actually reaching that first magic number. I'm grateful for all the support I've received, and to be able to share something that is quite niche. Look forward to sharing more and as always, comments and sharing of thoughts is very welcome!
Have a great rest of 2020 ahead! 🙃
I love your toys ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Haha thank you I love them too! By the way to our wives and girlfriends they are "collectibles" or "model", or even "investments".... never toys! 🤣🤣
Soooooooo cooooool
You can try flight pose stand to display them
Thanks good point! I tried with those I have but there doesn't seem to be a place to get a good grip on them. Mainly because of the shape but also the roundness. Kept slipping off. In the end I resorted to a piece of white colour blu-tack 😉
So coooool
Nautilus is a 🦑 squid ?
@@jovelynaguilar300 Nope, they are related however.
This is a cool figure and a nice video good job.
Thank you it really is a cool duo! I generally don't know much about non-dinosaurs and next to zero about the Cambrian but these have always fascinated me, along with Athropleura. We can thank Nigel Marven for that!
🤩 wow
For sure! I love these!
Good
Were can find a ammonite fossil s
I believe you have to go to an online shop, but google for reviews first. Some sell replicas, some sell outright fakes.
If you're lucky enough, you can find it in fossil sites.
