  • 300 acres is a lot of ground for 5 hunters and 1 dog to cover. This property is well managed, with some of the best native grass habitat we’ve seen, and it shows by the number of birds that can be found. With so much habitat available, the birds always have an escape route. Later in the season, after multiple hunting parties have swept through the property, it can be a real challenge to pin down some roosters. We’ve had plenty of experience chasing wild birds as a family, so we have some tricks up the sleeve. Even still, sometimes the tricks don’t work as planned and we have to put boots to grass and cover some ground. Every feather was well earned on this one.

Did you make those drawers for your truck box? I would like to see how they work and how you made them if so. Thanks!

Yes, we have made 2 of them. If we build another, it will be recorded and put into a video. The drawers have smooth vinyl strips that slide on an epoxy surface. It’s cheaper than drawer kits on the market, but not as convenient, since the epoxy does wear and the drawers are heavy to pull especially when full.
