- Peaky senior made the trip to Oriel Park, Dundalk for a top of the table match between Derry and Dundalk.
Things turned ugly at the end which for me ruined an enjoyable evening, i ended the vlog quite abruptly as I simply didn’t want to speak anymore.
I’d like to thank Ady for the match ticket and to Dundalk FC for allowing me access around their boardroom and bar for footage. - Sport

You were right to show the trouble at the end. Never understand why people feel the need to jump on the pitch.

Peaky hi, a real “warts and all” video, thanks for uploading! As always you’ve captured the buildup, the action and the aftermath to showcase our favourite sport. I was going to congratulate the fans on creating an atmosphere, but as you say, shame on the troublemakers, that’s one sure way of putting off women and children from attending. Nice watching a game on a balmy evening, I watched Glentoran v Loughgall in a friendly yesterday, great to not have to worry about coats and gloves! Gabe 💚❤️🖤
Wee fella was beside me and my partner and he was standing on the wall celebrating (he wasn’t the only one) one of the Stewart’s grabbed him & continued to drag him off the pitch. Garda then grabbed the young fella by the throat off the Stewart. It was all handled awful by both sides but the Stewart and the Garda were far too heavy handed last night and knew Derry fans were going to react. Awful scenes.

Glad to see you back, you promote the game well unfortunately there’s always a few who spoil it. LOI grounds need improvement some of which you’ve shown wouldn’t pass a safety test in the English league two. Keep up the good work & c’mon Derry
Disappointing scenes at the end but equally disproportionate rubbish from the guards and stewards. Anything to get stuck into the northerners. Great video - thought that was a corner at the end - ref couldn’t wait to blow it up. Pity Derry couldn’t hang on in the end .
Peaky, the waine who ran on the pitch was 14, grabbed by the throat & ended up having 6 gards at him. 4 year old was pepper sprayed & the response from the cop to his da was “you shouldn’t have brought him to the match”. The cops made the situation a lot worse than it should’ve been, but as usual its always the one bus of Derry fans that cause hassle wherever they go. One cop said to me “usual derry fans causing hassle wherever yous go. You’d be better off in your own league. Nothing has changed with you lot from 1972”. This was after he denied that his cops had done anything wrong but asked before what had happened, he said he was the man in charge. Dundalk CEO down in the middle of the cops firing punches & grabbing Derry fans, only to be protected by the cops & their batons. As i said, usual bus load of Derry fans to blame for part of it, but the Gardaí made the whole situation a lot more than it should’ve been.

@@PhilipKelly one child entered the pitch which shouldn’t have happened. Not playing the victim, the cops were far too heavy handed. 4 year old got pepper sprayed, says it all

Great vlog again. There is no doubt that Oriel Park is a shocking ground and it's not like Dundalk haven't got or had the money for proper ground improvements over the last number of years. But, it's no worse than a few Irish League grounds. You were right to include the scuffle at the end but the clown who ran on the pitch is asking for the trouble and no doubt fuelled by some kind of intoxicant. The steward towards the end didn't exactly cover himself in glory, although those guys are volunteering so also shouldn't have to take a load of verbal abuse either. It's not ideal but I suppose it could have been much worse though.
why the hell anyone feels the need or desire to enter the playing area, unless its an emergency likes of a crush, fire etc its beyond me. anyone that get son like that at an away game is a disgrace to their club and shouldnt be allowed to go to away games anymore. you done the right thing to show it and document it as maybe something will be done about the parties involved. but what a header to equalize

Peaky.. for a professional trained organisation such as the garda..the way they dealt with the a situation of trying to arrest a youngster ( his crime running on the pitch )was shocking..the gates should have been opened up sooner so people young and old could leave safely.and would have completely diffused the situation.Derry fans can go anywhere in the world with ther heads held high.

Why would Derry get chucked out? They are an integral member of the LoI. A minor incident badly handled but even then it was no big deal.

@@ThePeakys seems like the Gardaí were a bit heavy handed for no good reason. No point in arresting a 16 year old away from home. Fair play to Derry fans for releasing him. Wouldn’t get it in the GAA 😄

Regretfully, football will forever attract an idiot element from time to time. Look at the disgraceful behaviour of some Dundalk "fans" who went to the Linfield game a couple of seasons back purely to antagonise the opposition players and fans. Talk about killing off the United Cup. I fully expect the poor behaviour at the game here has plenty got to do with alcohol.
Not quite Dundalk 79 but anything like this would naturally put off people going,especially people like yourself who usually takes the kid.

Really? Crowds are bigger than ever. Can't get tickets for certain games . Rovers Bohs is the most likely game for aggro yet its the hardest game to get tickets for
Title is very misleading but suppose it does what its aimed for & gets the sought after likes & views. Only violence I seen in that whole video came from over zealous Gardai who will class their pushing, shoving, use of batons, pepper spray as crowd control tactics. I seen a lot of annoyed genuine Derry City fans remonstrating & some hangers on think they are big men being ushered away. Poor title choice based on what the video shows & I witnessed firsthand.

Title is not misleading in the slightest. I said in the video why happened which I witnessed.
Derry fan was on the pitch and when he was removed the Derry fans ran at the Garda. Garda then retaliated with batons and pepper spray.
