Shohei will go down as the greatest baseball player in history.

Which is what I think DeRosa was saying, without trying to say it out of respect for all the other players that came before Shohei.

What the people in the states don't understand about Shohei is that his life is all baseball
If you've seen footages of his diary and room during high school you'll know how much he cared about nutrition and mechanics
Ichiro was another genius who's diary had precise goals on how to become a pro but my god is Shohei a baseball savant.

If Ichiro was as athletic as Shohei, he probably could have been a two way player as well.

Just because your athletic doesn't mean you can pitch and definitely not at 102 mph!

He is literally a well raised boy who loves playing baseball become an adult and pro without getting distracted by all noise, fame, money and all other temptations.

Shohei wrote ten years ago that he would become the MVP at the 2022 WBC at age 27.. Well, now it’s 2023 and he is 23. But what he wrote is pretty close to what happened. Nobody but he made it happen for himself. No words…

I mean... can you believe the Angels have two of the greatest in history and still haven't played in the postseason? Unbelievable! The WBC showed what they can do if they have the right pieces around.

    マルチバース世界、ピッチャー大谷が活躍する世界とバッター大谷が活躍する世界が混在している。
The multiverse world, the world where pitcher Otani is active and the world where batter Otani is active, are mixed.

Only thing left for Shohei is to win a championship.

What we are witnessing is comparable to Michael Jordan entering his prime. Enjoy and appreciate Ohtani's greatness while you can. If Ohtani can manage to remain relatively healthy, he will be called the best baseball player ever lived by the end of his career. He is already the best player on the planet right now according to Trout.

Shohei said he wants to be the best baseball player in the whole world. I think he’s already become one though.

Interestingly, his parents were so humble that his father did not even dream of Shohei becoming a professional baseball player. He wanted him to continue playing baseball, but he thought he would be a working baseball player like his father himself and Shohei's older brother. Maybe it is actually his parents who are surprised at this situation. His father has not changed his life and still teaches Little League. Wonderful.

It came on news in Japan recently that his mum is refusing to receive money from Shohei and she still has a part time job. Good kid and great parents.

Before Ohtani, baseball was boring and a dying sport. After Ohtani, some people are still critical of Ohtani and his great talent, refusing to acknowledge him period. American MLB players are too arrogant and complacent with their skills. With Japan winning the WBC, it should be a wake up call to America that pretty soon, our reign at the top of the baseball world is ending. Japanese players are emerging as victors and kings and will definitely further eject this sport into the international stratosphere! If they work that hard to make baseball a better sport then they deserve to be at the top!!!! Look at what Ohtani did for the Czech Republic! It was as effortless as Ohtani donning their cap and the caps sold out overnight!!!!! Sure I understand that some mlb players didn’t want to play or couldn’t play because of their clubs but stop making excuses why the American team lost. If we keep saying that Judge didn’t play, etc etc then we’re belittling the very “best” team we sent out there to represent us , USA!!!! We lost because Japan was just better than us this time! America was arrogant and thought our little team of MVPs could beat any country out there. Unfortunately, mexico and Japan beat us up!!! Wake up MLB players and work just as hard as the Japanese or even harder!! If we want to stay at the top, it’s the only way!!!
