    RIP Wayne. Almost sad that many things I see on CZcams are laments.

    I am leery of blowing smoke as it just seems so gratuitous but this is just stunning. TeleMaster...!!! Thank You, B-)

    Wow Tim. What a lovely lovely appreciation of Wayne. I saw him live with both Miles and Weather Report in the 70's. He was one of the great ones, up there with Miles and Coltrane.

    You gave that kind of a Lenny Breau vibe with the harmonic flourishes. IMHO Wayne was greatest Jazz composer since Duke.

    Thanks for letting me discover this tune, such great harmony, and you render it so beautifully. I know very little about his harmomnic concepts. It's asuch a nice legacy .

    Simply beautiful as always Tim. With the passing of David Lindley too, I was wondering if you might record an interpretation of Late for the Sky? David's guitar work on there is absolutely sublime and I'd love to hear your approach to that song.

    Tim, thanks for the tribute. I also have a question for you...
    Which Glendale saddles do you use on the tele you usually play here on CZcams? Glendale makes many different sets. Do you use the 'plain' brass ones or the ones they describe as "Jazz Brass" for "heavy gauge strings"? I will be stringing with the same 12-54 D'Addario set you use... Thanks for your inspiring playing.

    • @TimLerchGuitar
      @TimLerchGuitar  Před rokem

      I use the regular Brass intone set. I don’t recommend the “Jazz” brass set unless you use an wound G.

    who is this playing targeted at? it's complex, well executed, but doesn't stir emotions other than complex chord structures and notes. where's the melody and soul?

    • @TimLerchGuitar
      @TimLerchGuitar  Před rokem +5

      This is a tune that I love, written by Wayne Shorter who passed away yesterday. it’s not targeted at anyone, it’s just a tune that I love in tribute to a master. It’s much more than complex chords.
