  • 5 billion years later, our Sun will explode into a Red giant star, so huge that it will engulf some of the planets within the Solar System.
    What would be the effect of this transition on the Solar System? Watch the video to know more.

    Pluto won’t be inhabitable as its gravity is insufficient to support an atmosphere.
    Earth won’t be molten due to Sun’s heat in much the same way that Mercury is not molten due to the Sun’s heat. Red giant stars, while much larger than Main Sequence stars, are also much cooler.
    Additionally, planets will not be flung out of their orbits, as the mass of the Sun will remain relatively constant (meaning the gravity well of the Sun will remain relatively constant). Only the Sun’s volume will change by any significant amount-which will have no real impact on the gravitation of the Sun.

      @soumilverma6011 Před 6 lety +3

      the sun will last a lot longer than 5 billion years, the sun will be a red giant in approximately 5 billion years, but when the sun does die, there wouldnt be a hypernova, the sun would never be massive enough, it would just be a supernova.

    • @EnderGamer-jn7gt
      @EnderGamer-jn7gt Před 6 lety +8

      Not even a supernova, a big misconception is that the sun will explode in some way, its not true. To put it simply, it will get big (red giant) and then get very small slowly leaving a planetary nebula with all the gasses coming out of it as it becomes a white dwarf
