To the Browns I loved your story. We have like three feet to work with around the house and our soil is Sooo poor. We live in a condo home in mid state Ohio. We do draw in several birds with the birdfeeders; but, landscaping is so out of the question. Our bushes did flower this year and we saw two ruby throated hummingbirds come in. That might have been the highlight for our yard birding this year.
I need to see the green jay.

Jumpin' Jiminy. I used to bird a lot, and am going out again today with a relatively new birder. I'm watching birding vids to prep. All of the people in the vids have kind of a crazy glazed look in their eyes. I'm checking myself in the mirror now.

There was a bird in the trees and I couldn't tell what kind of bird it was it had a growling sound to it when it flew off it was a gray color was kind of long legs almost like a crane looking bird but it wasn't a crane

How can you hear the bird with that loud flute playing?
@Victor Wadsworth Haha! The flute was not out in the field, so we had no problem hearing birds. It was edited in later, thank goodness!
i thought movie The Big Year was a joke...
