1st time seeing a needle nose plier project. Impressive work.
Glad you like this one Ron. And thanks as usual for all your valued support.
Glen a sign of a good smith
Is the one who makes his own
Tools and good at it, you rock!
If judged on tong making, then yeah, I could be considered a good smith. But on most everything else it's very debatable! Thanks for all.
The pliers turned out great Glen, I'm beginning to think you are the master of pivot point tools. Well done !
I've got more projects like this in my mind. I appreciate all your support Mike.
This and the scissors are some of the nicest things youve ever made Glen. I love seeing you make useful tools, great job.
I appreciate you saying that. Maybe there's hope for me after all! I've got more like this planned so let's what's next. Thanks James.
We need to have a double-like or super-like function here on CZcams. One like is not enough for such video!
I really do appreciate your very kind, overly generous comment. Thanks for sure.
Glen, you never cease to amaze me with how good your ideas are. Those look great man! Much love brother
For sure this pair of pliers is nice. There's room for improvement and so I'll see where I can take this next. And I appreciate the love brother. Big thanks.
Those are great, I have in the back of my head to make some round nose pliers for my lady for jewellery making but my list of tools needed is long and incomprehensible...and usually forgotten as soon as I light the forge.......... I wish I could get flap wheels for my grinder here you have access to some really cool stuff in the city , I'm especially impressed by the amount of different steels you can get and having an accessible machinist.
For now, Taipei is still pretty convenient for me as far as getting steel, etc. Things are changing slowly and maybe in 5 years time that won't be the case. Thanks.
I wish pliers like these were still readily available. Everyone would want them.
this is really cool, man.
Lots of people made things that were required to make other things that are getting us to the moon this morning.
That's a very good point. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
@@gstongs I always watch. No need to thank me, sir.
Thank you for taking the time to swim around in the deep with us and find someone to talk with.
Ready to pull out some big splinters Glen 😁
I like these pliers very much, so practical. The big round joint was fascinating to watch as it was being made. All very interesting.
I still wish the pivot was less wide and more thick. Next go round... Thanks.
Another rare tool build. We shared this video on our homemade tools forum this week 😎
Thanks for sharing my video. I need to get active on your channel. 😬

A real education in tong making
Tongs are about the only thing I'm really confident in making. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Your creativity never ceases to amaze me, Glen! Those are freaking awesome! I am searching you out after the apocalypse, lol! Well done, Sir!
Hey Steven, Just saw your donation now. I'll give you the usual recognition, probably three videos later. I really can't thank you enough for all the generous support. 😬
Glen, it is well deserved, Sir! Knowledge is priceless! Well, sorta! Lol! I appreciate all you do for us!!!!!!!
Great job Glenn 🙂
Much appreciated Roy. Sorry I haven't been active on your channel / live streams. Not terribly busy and I've been focusing on getting some stuff done that I've neglected for a while. Thanks. 😬
Perfect pliers the one thing I would do I'd fix a place to put a spring to keep the jaws open
You're one step ahead of me. I thought about that but figured I should wait until I get my basic plier design sorted. Thanks.
Very cool Glen! I would never have thought of making needle nose pliers, well done mate!
I wish I started doing projects like this sooner. Anyway, I'll continue on this path and see what I can do. Thanks Paul.
Great job Glenn. Definitely learned some new techniques from this!
Glad you can learn anything from watching even if it's what not to do! But seriously thanks.
Another great video. I’m always so impressed with your technic and your narrative. So well done as if I was in your studio.
You're being very kind and generous with your comment. Thanks Larry.
Worst case, soften the inside faces of the jaws and they're awesome scrolling tongs.
Wow!! Nice job Glen. I've never made pliers before. I should give it a try. I like how you made the pivot. Very unique and original.
Not sure why I also never made a pair of pliers before. I had fun with this one but I'd like to make changes for my next try. Thanks for all Jeff.
very nice pliers and a very clever technique
Thanks Stephen. I'm satisfied with this pair of pliers but will make some adjustments next try.
Nice heavy duty set of pliers, well done Glen.
I pleased with this pair of pliers but will make some adjustments next go round. Thanks.
A very wonderful work as each job you do. Thanks from germany.
Hi Peter, I appreciate all the support you've shown me. Thanks.
Beautiful, personally I would like the jaws closer to parallel, but very nice work. Thanks Glen.
I had thought of doing that - it wouldn't have been difficult. But settled on a bit of angle when closed. Thanks.
You do absolute great work with what you have to work with
I appreciate your kind comment. Thanks.
Those pliers look great!
Yeah, they're not bad. I'll make a few more for sure. Thanks as always for your support Rob.
Great job, thank you brother. You are so talented
I appreciate you watching and for your very kind comment. I'll keep trying my best. Thanks for your support.
This is beautiful and inspiring.
Hi Nikolai and thanks for all your support. It's very much appreciated. 😬
Looks great! Love that patina you put on it too!
I think I'm maybe too in love with this patina. Been using it on everything. I really appreciate all of your consistent support of the channel.
Great little pliers. Keep up the good work champ.
Much appreciated. I think I can improve upon this. More to follow...
Splaing out the handles would be a good improvement for those. There is a reason you almost never see straight handles on pliers, they are less comfortable and with the closing position so close to each other it decreases the amount of pressure you can use to close them.
My original design (on paper) did have a decent amount of curve / splay in the handles. But things don't always go according to plan for me. I see where I can make improvements and do my best next go round. Thanks for watching.
Great pair of pliers👍🏻
Not bad but I think I can do better. More to follow... Thanks Ty
Nicely done Glen!
Thanks jay. I'll keep on trying my best.
Nice pliers Glen
Thanks John.
Mate, that's beautiful. Nice job.
I appreciate your kind comment. Thanks.
They look fantastic
A new style tong pivot
Hi Alan and thanks for continuing to support / watch.
Very nice Glen!
Thanks robert.
nicely done
Thanks for watching.
Nice job!
Thanks for sure.
Beautiful
Thanks for sure.
Hey Glenn! Great job. So many things to see here. Watch count exceed the like capabilities! 😂
So you mentioned drawing out the handles/reins. Just a thought. Fullering dies on the little guillotine tool??? Yup makes ridges but those get smooth by Ye Old Clobereinhitzen! Similar to drawing out over the edge of the anvil with a crosspein Clobereinhitzen!
😂 I see that smile over here in Texas!
Blessings brother
Crawford out 🙏🏻🔥⚒️🧙🏼♂️
Yes, my fullering dies would certainly work for drawing a little faster. I also have a couple of simple hardy hole bottom fullers and I recently completed a cross peen hammer for myself and I'll show / use those soon. Anyway, your suggestions are sound advice. Just need them to sink into my brain when I'm actually working. Thanks Crawford.
the best!!
Nice job Glen I like the way you styled the boss are you right or left handed, I noticed an earlier video of you writing on a white board I think it was left handed but you use a hammer right handed.
Tony

Very observant - I write left-handed but do virtually everything else with my right hand. Go figure... Thanks for all your support Tony.
Great video Glen. Awesome work. What did you say was /the point of the green solution? Something up with my audio so I couldn’t make it out. Thanks in advance.
That oxalic acid solution put s patina on pieces that helps prevent rust. And I just really like the look. Thanks.
What no makers mark? next thing you know you try to make slip jaw pliers or a cresent wrinch (Lol) good job ⚒⚒⚒⚒⚒..Be well and be safe....
Hey brother, any way you can email me? I still want to give you the tong you've earned via donating. I've emailed you several times but they must be going to junk... No matter, there's no expiration on this reward so whenever is fine. And yes, I forgot my mark on this one. There's always next time. Thanks for all Bill.
Well done, sir. I really like the patina. What is the oxalic acid mixed with and in what proportions? Thanks.
I mix it in tap water but I really can't say the proportions. Maybe a teaspoon full for each cup of water? I'm also in love with this patina and maybe too much so. Been using on everything and the kitchen sink... Thanks Richard.
🌌
They look really good. Question do you make scrolling tongs? I am after a pair? Also I am in the UK if that is a problem. Many thanks
Hi and yes, I do make scroll tongs and do send to the UK. If interested, email me:
gstongs@gmail.com
www.gstongs.com
Thanks for watching.
Master
Won't the oxalic acid eventually corrode through your metal storage can?
Someone else asked the same. It's not very powerful (acidic) and so it would likely take a very long time. However using glass or plastic is probably better. Thanks.
Hey do you sell any tools you make on line?
Glen sells it all, check his web page, good quality tools!
Hi and yes. You can find my website at:
www.gstongs.com
Thanks for watching.
Thanks Paul.
Hey, Glen! Chris V. here!
Great video, and a sexy little plier! Any chance these will go up on the store?
Someone else asked about me selling pliers and/or scissors but I'm not at that point yet. However, it's something I'm considering once I get my designs sorted. Otherwise, I might start giving away such items in lucky drawings or maybe for a small donation. Thanks Chris for all your support.
Sir would like to know
What your solution is
That you use on the
Plyers, think you
The solution is oxalic acid in water. After some time it gives scale free steel a green blue patina. Thanks for watching.
@@gstongs thank you very much
What do you call your jig at around 0.37 sec ?
What would charge me for a pair of pliers ? Or a pair of scissors ✂️
It's hard to say since I normally don't make pliers or scissors for sale. But I plan to continue to do these items in videos and so maybe for a small donation and the price of shipping I might send you one. Email me if interested:
gstongs@gmail.com
Thanks.
My gee tool is not half as stable as yours
Gee tools?
I didn't even know I had a "gee" tool! But seriously, thanks for watching my friend.
