The irony was that Paul killed her with that blender she stole later, that's what I'd call poetic justice. I loved these quirky and dark fine details the writers put into the show in the early years.
I should have never read the comments 💀
YES YES YES YES YES. The writers ate, snacked, whatever, they did it.
I miss this show! The first season was absolutely brilliant. But it's crazy to think that it will be a decade old this fall.....
Now turning 15 in the fall
The fact that this comment is 7 years old now-

DH was one of the BEST TV SHOWS ever... The producers and directors did an amazing job
you can see how martha was so sure to go to mary alice's house, i mean, if you hear a bullet noice, specially on a suburb like that you dont know from where it comes bc all the houses are so close to each other, so if you look the whole show and than go back to this scene, it all makes sense .
I remember randomly wanting to see what all the fuss was about and I watched this clip and I was completely hooked!
Martha Huber is the real villain of DH
I've always wondered why Mary Alice literally jumped the gun after she received the threatening note from Martha Huber? It seemed pretty irrational for her to commit suicide in that situation. Couldn't she have shown the note to Paul and the two of them could have found out the identity of the sender. And considering how Martha Huber's motive was to blackmail the Youngs to give her financial support, they could have bought her off. Suicide seemed completely unnecessary.
barbiquearea Totally agree.
Watch the show. It's explained.
She’s living on edge the whole time after she killed the baby’s mother. Then someone found out she literally snapped and took the bullet
You want the show to be boring?? The suicide of Mary Alice is basically the whole build-up of the show-
It wasn't about the note. It was about the guilt that consumed her during all those years, killing the real mother of Zack. Mary Alice was a good person and that weighted heavely on her consciousness. The note was only the trigger.
This video showed up in my recommended a couple of years ago, and because of it I decided to binge the whole show. Best decision I ever made.
For real
im a male and i actually love this show trust me anyone can enjoy this great guilty pleasure of entertainment great dialogue great colorful brilliant casted characters all the females and males are attractive and amazing every episode has thrill romance drama mystery comedy goofy moments silly too dramatic outrageous scenes some action its just a brilliant show overall sometimes i dont just call this a good sexy guilty pleasure but just a good show overall 10 out of 10 its a excellent show in my opinion
man very secure of their sexuality or at least handsome men enjoy this series.
Historically men won’t admit to watching these shows because they look down on anything where women are the stars.
@BLTKellys really? Well I'm a man and I enjoy shows like this, Golden Girls, Living Single, The Closer, Ghost Whisperer, Medium, Charmed, Girlfriends, etc. So what does that say? Also many men loved the Aliens films with Sigourney Weaver or Terminator with Linda Hamilton. All of these ended up being huge hits with everyone not just women you know.
@@kendallrivers1119 I'm a 45 year-old-man and I totally agree with you. And "Desperate Housewives" isn't a guilty pleasure for me. Everyone around me knows I love the show.
It was always weird to me that all the girls have different personalities, but Bree and Mary Alice looked so similar
yes, and coincidently Bree almost went to the same path as Mary Alice in the final season, Bree was about to commit suicide and left a note but then Renee stormed in and saved her from doing what Mary Alice did 12 years ago.
Bree would never commit suicide
@@littlesister262she nearly did after everyone exiled her
The 17 years anniversary since this show premiered October 3rd 2004 instantly becoming a worldwide phenomenon attracting 21.6 million viewers on the pilot episode alone. 😂
To this day it still bothers me that Martha Huber never shut her front door when she went to snoop on Mary Alice...... Annoying......
@Doffy Rob 1) bugs getting in, 2) central air prolly on and letting all the cool air out, and most importantly 3) SHE JUST HEARD GUN SHOTS so if there truly was a murderer she was giving him/her a free pass to just walk right in.
Imagine not worrying about your house being break into because you lived in nice white neigborhood
The scenarist is a really crazy guy to imagine an introduction witch push so much curiosity like that.
Just started watching it now
Always wanted to watch this
But now the lockdown has given me the time I long needed
I’m on the first episode as we speak and within the first five minutes I’ve rewinded it about 6 times 😂😂😊
It’s definitely on to a good start 👍
Thats how I fall in love with this series
Is that Gaby in the beginning of the scene?
Wow here in 2021 love this show miss it!! Can't it's been so long
Please bring this show back on ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤
I know I’ve commented before, but those are some big waffles!
Oooooh the feels
I was watching a Hallmark movie where Brenda Strong was playing a meddling mother who kept trying to set her daughter up on blind dates.
Mom: Is that Mary Alice from Desperate Housewives ?
Me: Yes. Let's just hope she doesn't put a gun to her head.
Notice all the various shades of tan in her closet. Ah, the symbolism!
What a brilliant story 👏
Beautiful.
And that's where I felt love for American series
Vou por na lista pra baixar e maratonar assim q terminar de ver Oz.
"After some initial hesitation..." lol
THE TEA - OH THE TEA
Why was that lady walking her buggy on the road? O.o there's a path right there lol
These opening narrations always take the form of..."A statement about one of the ladies...1) Example one from her past. 2) Example 2 from her past 3) Example 3 from her past... And then "yes. repeating original statement about the ladies...and then some ironic twist type follow up line". It's that way on every show...
Did the "Desperate Housewives" turn into the "Stepford Wives?"
I always wondered what Mrs Hubbard did for a living….
she didn't work I would say, she said her husband died and left her penniless so that's why she blackmailed people and was always looking for a fast buck. Mrs Hubbard looked about early 50s when the show started in 04 so for her age it was believable she was a housewife who relayed on her husband as this was more common for women of her era. She likely was living off benefits.

#KDEstrada brought me here.
Ooo I love Desperate housewives xox
Mary Alice is in Dallas & Thirteen reasons why xox good actress ❣️❣️✌🏻💗😍💞 but why did she shot herself x
Because she killed her childs real mother and Martha Huber found her out and blackmailed Mary Alice saying she was gonna tell people, so Mary Alice killed herself, which is the whole build-up of the show :)) SMARTY
I loved Felicia Tillman
Im laughing my face 🤣 off
❤
So why did she kill herself?
She was being blackmailed by the person who ran to check on her.
@@idk_who2320 don’t spoil. Lol
@@keepbreathing4554 lol sorry I’ll delete my comment if you want
