Love the contrast of white ears to the black wool. What a wonderful addition to your homestead.
I love their little flappity ears.
1 gallon a day is great! With size of your family, and things you can make from it, plus drinking you need milk. So happy for you. I love goat milk.
Thank you for sharing your video homestead ART and BRI🐔🐓🐥🐈🐖🐕🐐🌱🐄🎥👍👍👍
Beautiful colourings! Really enjoying watching your homestead grow.
I'm partial to the black and white Nubians, my first doe was named Josephine Bonaparte and she was black and white. She was the sweetest thing I've ever met and was always very Popular at the shows because she would love on everyone.
congrats on the goats. one thing I think you guys could improve on is any time you get new livestock it's always good to quarantine them for at least a couple days or up to a week. you never know what hidden problem they may be carrying
miakain j
miakain agreed
definitely a good idea to quarantine
Exactly. It is REALLY bad animal management to NOT quarantine.
2 weeks.
30 days for me, long time, but I lost animals by not doing it. Takes extra work and space, but worth it.
Oh, this is so awesome! Nubians are my favorite breed -- no contest! :-D
You guys need a live stock guardian dog:) A hounds nose will lead it places you do not want, and will be stuck building more fences for a dog hahaha.
Agreed. Hounds run.
My daughter and I were watching and I told her, "I bet they bought all three of those goats!". So funny that you did! Congrats! We think they are gorgeous :)
I was certain of the same! 😄
Im so happy for you guys! Meralda and her girls really do make a striking trio ❤
i love watching your family in your daily lives i am alone an I am 70 yrs old so thank you so much for letting me watch ....
The white ears look like pig tails. Love it. So pretty. We always called our boys Billies and girls Nannies.
All hail the queen! I'm glad she's still Miss Bossy. Those new goats are lovely, the way their ears frame their dark faces. I can't wait to have goats. You're gonna be swimming in milk!
That is so cool!! Congratulations on your fine new additions to your ever growing goat herd!! These new goats are so pretty, I love their long floppy ears! It will be interesting to see just how much more milk your new goat will produce. Good luck and May God bless your family and homestead!
Very beautiful new Goats, well done guys 😊
Every time you get a new goat, my heart giggles! I've been there. I've done that. Goats are just the best and I so enjoy their company on my farm. I can tell you are enjoying them, too! So far, I have not had any success going completely grass fed with my dairy herd and we have plenty of lush pasture for them. If you find a way to do this, please share your experience. I'm always learning something...hope that never stops!! Keep up the great work.
I don't think we will have success with this until we have a full perimeter fence. And even then I don't know.
Awe..they're so beautiful! Great video! Thanks for taking us along. Blessings...
The new goats are beautiful!! I love the whitish/gray ears over the jet black coat! All 3 are beautiful!! Congratulations!!!
There is no way I could have resisted those cuties. I would have bought the yearling buck too.
Congrats on the new family members! They are all beautiful!
I can only imagine the potential for next years milk possibilities! 🐐❤🥛
Lovely goats! Stunning how gorgeous their contrast with the ears and face, it complements the breed really well. Good luck and God bless with the new addition to the family. I hope you got a male "buck" in the new three. 🐐🐐🐐
I love Flopsy. She looks like our Rosalina.
Beautiful video to watch right before bed! They make the most adorable sounds and are so uniquely pattering. I am so looking forward to this journey with you! Blessed 🌻❤️🌻❤️
After all that work, I hope Flopsy gets to stay Queen Bee. The new goats are beautiful, best wishes!
Congratulations on the new additions! They are beautiful goats.
the new goats are beautiful you should get lots of milk great video good luck with the baby's.
What a great first milking
thank you for sharing.have a nice day
Aaaw! Loved this video. Happy for y'all. Nice.
I make my own yogurt, almond milk and peanut butter. When u make yogurt, remember to use whole milk. Almond milk doesn't work well but it if anyone is lactose intolerant, lactose free milk works.
Yeah Floppsy is still Queen! What did Winter do that had the kids so excited? Wonderful video congrats on the new additions I don't think your crazy at all!
Ok I so want goats now. love the new ones they are so beautiful.
Congrats on the new additions. Wishing you lots of milk! 😁
Loved the little mans speech about the chocolate, watched it 3 times🎈
Have you considered the advantages of lining your boot with a waterproof tarpaulin for these adventures? I believe you can even buy them made to fit for most common makes and models.
I love Nubians - beautiful, elegant, intelligent, social and playful.Sadly I've recently lost a Nubian nanny to a dog, leaving behind a pair of twin kids.... I was absolutely devastated!
Oh man!!! I had to go back and watch this one after your "How much milk do we get?" Vlog. I am behind on your videos...trying to get back on track! Haha.
But yikes!! Worms!!!!! Ok so how can you tell that a goat has worms from their eye lids??
Thank you Art and Bri for everything you do!!!! You are inspiring Kelly and I until we can finally get on our homestead later this year!😀😀😀
Those are three lucky goats!
OMGGGG those are my favortie dogs!!!! love your new additions! and wow, you all are getting to be pros at this whole farm stuff! so great!!!!
I am just loving your adventures as a family. Your new additions are beautiful. Those are the kind of goats I want when I finally start my herd but I just got out of the hospital for back surgery. Y'all are doing so great on your farm. Keep it up.
Time to get a small livestock trailer. That van can haul it with a hitch. Awesome good luck
Me three....Oh boy are they pretty...Good trip....
Love the upside-down stool, looks like great entertainment.
Congratulations!
I don't think your crazy, but I wish I was you. Those goats are so cute. Congrats.
Very informative. Thank you for sharing.
Flopsy was saying, “This is MY farm and MY people! You better be sweet or you’re outta here!” 🤣🤣❤️
I hate when people lie about their livestock. It really gets my goat.
Tom Olofsson i see what you did there
Lockwood Studios At least you didn't say, "Don't have a cow, man."
I like the new goats...they seem a good fit for you.
Love your new goats. They are addictive. We just built a little barn last May and in December we bought our 6th goat. I even got one for our anniversary in September. Love them!
I think that you getting a goat for your anniversary is just wonderful!
They are beautiful!
So exciting! The herd is a growing.
Watching the doe's figure out the pecking order, made me think how easy it looked. I'm used to watching mares ( female horses) fight for the same reason but more aggressive. Then whom ever last the lowest ranking mare would take it out on the geldings ( castrated male horse).
Really enjoy your videos!!
I was grateful for the small child translation!! hahah so cute and fun!
yeah more goats 😍 i love to follow your family and life lots ofta love from sweden 😊
That’s funny I was looking at the scenery and thought wow that looks like NC then read the Asheville NC that confirmed it. Man I miss home, you have a nice little farm there.
Really excited for you. Beautiful addition to the herd. Before you know it, you will have milk to share.
...share and sell. We have a person up the road who rehabs animals and is always in need of goats milk.
Nice job goats🌹
Seems like I waited a century for your next vlog! I wish they were longer. Also, I only just found your channel a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure I watched all of your videos in two weekends and one week of mornings. Love Love Love your channel! We're in Southern NC and ache to move to the NC mountains. Shalom and blessings!
There so beautiful!!
your goats are beautiful! and a gallon a day is awesome :)
Love it! Those are some beautiful goats, once I get my larger property I can see myself doing the same thing. lol.
Looks like this year is gonna be very interesting...
Flopsy: "Who's this nubian newbie?!"
love it !!!
good decission!
Good road trip too
I LOVE Nubians! Great video!
Is it normal for the new Mama to look so thin? They sure are pretty! And no I don't think your crazy, I do see a lot of milking in your future! Blessings!
Yay, more goaties! ^_^
Gorgeous goats, I'm happy that you guys got all 3. Lol
Hey... your goat herd is growing... :)
Love Nubians they are my fav
Really enjoy your channel. Congrats on the new goats! Was a little surprised that you night separated them already. It's exciting to see how much milk you'll get, but first night in a new place, that Mama and baby didn't need the added stress.
I stopped separating them after the first night. I went back to separating them a few nights ago but I keep them in the same stall. They can see each other but Moonbeam can't nurse.
sooo cute congrats
Yay! So exciting! They are as beautiful as you said they were! That little doeling is a moonspotted! I am coming to steal her right now, lol!
We named her moonbeam.
ART and BRI I love it!!! She is perfect! I would love to claim first spotted doe she has if you are willing, lol!
I don't think you are crazy. It's wonderful!
Livestock math is the best kind!!! I love my goats! I can't look or I want more. 😄
That's a beautiful big herd you have there! It appears that Flopsy remains Matriarch.
we have 4 kids as well and we honestly go through a gallon a day just in milk then including butter, yogurt cheese... we need a minimum of 2 gallons of milk a day from our goats.
Amanda Brewood so much to learn. I didn't know you could make butter from goat milk. Hope Bri tries all of these things and shares her experience.
Sandy Rees only certain breeds to my understanding. They have to have a high enough butter fat content and I 'think' you have to use a cream separator with goats milk because the molecules are much more fine and it doesn't separate like cows milk.
Amanda, we are hoping that we can breed Flopsy soonish and then breed Raven ( the yearling) this fall. That will give us plenty with hopefully some to sell to the neighbors who rehab animals.
I was going to breed my girl to have a fall baby but decided it was best to do fall breeding. If something happens you can use milk from another goat if needed for babies. Also it means I would have to continue to breed her off season or have a long wait to get her back in fall seasons.
Can't wait to see how much milk you get in the morning! Woo hoo!!!
how exciting!!
nice looking goats,,i have a nubian too,,milk tastes good
great video
Guinea hens make better guard dogs than a dog does. They'll let you know for sure. Great job with the goats. I cannot wait til I move and can raise some too.
🌾Be Blessed ღ 🌿
Now we know your surprise! Should have guessed because once you get one goat you have to have more. Just like Lay's potato chips, one is never enough. lol
IMPULSE BUY!! :D
I like aquariums and recently bought a Marble Crayfish haha, they are so neat
Goat milk is great for skin problems..I notice the baby still has his rash. You can pour it in his bath...or now you should have enough to make soap! (In your spare time of course..lol!)
You got some beauties! I can't wait to see them after being under your care for a month or so...they will be stunning! My Nubians gave me 3 to 4 quarts a day....and the milk is delicious! Have fun with your new girls! No Art you dont need one of those dogs lol! Just kidding. Love Hound dogs!
Great job for what u doing my wife and i tried all u r doing with the goats its a lot of work with the goat milk to make yogurt and all the rest we just got rid of all the goats and got a jersey cow its alot easier to look after one cow than 8 goats and with the cow u even will have enough milk for the chickens good luck with the goats
A cow is in the plan.
It could be a good idea to put the new goats in quarantine at first just in case they are caring something that gets to the rest of the herd. That farm you got the goats from was so cozy:)
I would love to see you do a video on your perspective to buying a goat...what questions do you ask, what did you look for! That would be so great to see!!!
The goats are cute, but their eyes freak me waaaaaay out!!! It's the whole horizontal pupil thing that has always freaked me out!!!
It's getting real now! LOL!
I love goats I would really love to go to your farm. I ❤️ GOATS!!
Your new babies are so cute! If you ever have a black and white baby I want one!
Will keep that in mind.
How fun! Wonderful that you will be getting more milk! You sure are growing your herd fast!! There are 6 of us kids and my 2 parents and we drink a gallon a day (or more). Not including the 4 cups of keifir which we almost always drink.... :) I'm not sure my one Alpine producing milk this summer will be enough.... :-)
What is kifer?
crumb9cheese it's fermented milk product like yogurt but not as thick. I believe it contains grain as well it's popular in middle eastern countries and the countries around the caucus mountains.
keifir is fermented milk with a certain bacteria (good) in it. Kinda like yogurt but runnier. It is full of probiotics and all that good stuff!! Plus it's really easy to make and super delicious in a smoothie with strawberries. Cultures for Health is the online store where we get our starter from if you are interested.
Love keifir.
