I'm currently with Three and honestly I cannot wait until my contract ends with them so I can switch to EE, I had nothing but issues on 3, and speeds suck but not only that but barely anything works regardless 4G or 5G, even being close to a tower.

If there is anything that I regret, it must be coming to the UK to study abroad, because I am used to China's national coverage signal, in contrast, the signal of the UK is ten times worse than that of China, and with the weather, the signal disappears in stages. It can be seen from this that the UK is the poorest developed country in the world, so if I could do it over again, I would not go to the UK to study.

Lots of missing information here, that seperates 4g from 5g such as increase MiMo capibilities. Also Carrier Aggeration with 5g will be key to produce those higher speeds. Must of know MMwave will be a bust for rual areas and even some subs but. 5g will pave the way for reducing or even eliminating network congestion. Making everyones connections more stable and usable in the long run.

Great video as usual. Lucky to be in an situation where everywhere I travel on three I get a great 5G service and if not a great 4G service, currently sat in a massive steel frame LED lined roof and still pull 1200mbps from three 5G, even some spots of the new forest I’ve pulled 800mbps speeds using 5G, it really depends on your surround areas. Just remember if it’s looks like a 5G mass, it may not always been a 5G mass that’s emitting ur network’s frequencies, maybe this was the reason to why you were close to that one and pulling slow speeds yet going to the industrial park next to another you pulled even better. Then you may have been connected to the same mass but being further away it was slower and closer being faster etc etc. I work in a phone shop and we usually say if you spend 50/50 time in city to rural areas there’s no harm in getting a 5G device providing there’s no price increase over 4G, because when u do go to those built up areas it will help you more in terms of fighting the huge number of devices connected to the same mass and slow speeds even with high strong signal! I’ve always said 85% of the population will be perfectly suited with 4G speeds on a mobile phone but benefit from the high client allocation of 5G, I find that being the best improvement in terms of service! Having 5G is brilliant specially in city zones because it taking more traffic away from 4G which can also help that service, this is a common trend when new technology comes into the community. But don’t forget your phone will always switch between the two modes based on what you are doing and if the increase power consumption is worth it

I feel like this is somewhat misguided it will take a while for the networks to build out their 5G network. Same thing happened when 4g was new. They've already started this with vodafone committing to switch off 3g by the end of their year and the other providers doing it next year. The 3G spectrum will be refarmed and used to boost existing 4g and 5g connections. Also aside from Three the other providers don't currently have 100mhz worth of 5g spectrum but with the other providers getting rid of 3g it should help fill that gap.
Getting a 5g capable phone and contract will help future proof you.

Simple answer is Huawei 5G products are being removed from the UK in 2020 and still not fully removed the UK did not create fully functional 5G network across the country. so only core business area currently have 5G, if you work or live on those business area its worth getting 5G, if you dont best stick to 4G

This happens in most Europe, but in UK is even worse given it was sold as "more" and not "better" topped with the usual stupid-cost-cut as well (NSA and 4g co-existence). I would seriously start advertising and selling it as stable 5g (rock solid, get connection when you can't in crowded areas) and guarantee stable yet slower links. Not to mention the batteries suffer a lot (expecting the X75 if brings something AI new to the table).

I had a look and EE are limited the speeds on my contract to 100mbps so it really makes no difference whether im on 5G on 4G the speeds are consistently the same.

Cell tower are connected via wireless links most of the time to save huge amount of money. This way the operators dont need to run fiber to the tower. This way the spare money, but the interconnect is done via directional antennas wich is most of the time does not capable to deliver the speed that 4G or 5G can offer. If wee feed the cell tower with multiple 10gbps fiber links, theres basically no limiting factor. I experience the same in germany where cell towers are mostly connected via wireless and only bigger cities have fiber connection.
I get around 50-250Mbps where i live (depends on the time of the day) with the wirelessly connected cell towers and i measure 1.5-2Gbps in a bigger city nearby over 5G of course all the time.
