From the beginning to even the end of the game, I always used Ikebukuro as a "hub area" of sorts between big plot events since Nocturne didn't have any safe areas to relax, I'd always trade my gems, do fusions, save my game, maybe quickly test out some moves on the random encounters, and the music was very relaxing to listen to. I talked with friends but they told me they used Asakusa as their hub area, which makes much more sense since the shops are all there close together, but Asakusa made me sad to visit because of plot events. I just really enjoyed the underground mall atmosphere of Ikeburkuro too.

I used it till I got to Asakusa. Asakusa was really nice before the incident because there was no random encounters.
I actually used Ginza as my hub. early game area where the shops are also close together, so I just never stopped going there. even with the encounters lmao. but whenever I play this game again, I will defo stop by Ikebukuro more, this theme is soooooo fucking good
Honestly, I think Ikebukuro is wayyy more interesting with the juxtaposition of a safe haven for you, but for the dolls it is literally their demise. Their blood covering the floors and cages scattering the room over. Very cool zone and still one of my fav hub themes from SMT 3

Real Universe is an absolute banger and it's a shame whatever extensions I've been able to find out there have some looping issues. I'll absolutely get to this soon!
