As a child, this is the man I wanted to be when I grew up.

It makes me so indescribably sad that Baker has to get rid of that beautiful, beautiful space. I can't even tell you how much I would love to tour that place and be in the same space as so many of those molds and props from amazing flicks. Rick Baker rules.

Ah, he doen't 'have to', he's just thinking about the future and where they will all end. Hopefully all in the same museum, even a replica of his studio.

So freaking cool. They preserve Picasso, Michaelangelo, Warhol, etc, why can they preserve these? These artworks are truly a part of art history and cinema history.

*ATTEN* RICK BAKER! Rick, if you read this, from one long-time Universal Monster fan, to another, I found the 2010 "The Wolfman" to be utterly amazing. Your make-up was simply dead-on. Not only partly in homage to the legendary Jack Pierce, but also horrifyingly modern. I don't care what people say or think. I, personally, have found your version of "The Wolfman" to be my favorite werewolf film of all-time. Thank you for that, and so many other memorable movie creature creations. You truly are a master in your field.

A movie legend,Love his work, King Kong 1976 was my favorite film growing up, and to find out years later he was the man in the ape suit was cool to hear. One if not the greatest makeup artist in film history.

Such a shame that he has to sell off his work and not to be in business no more. Films still needs to do this work still because its real it feels real on film because it is real. He he. Please Jeep doing these effects movies because you were getting it so right.

I heard that the work that REALLY launched Rick Baker's career in the spotlight was the makeup for Michael Jackson's "Thriller". Rick Baker did "An American Werewolf in London" before "Thriller", but the work that Rick did for "Thriller" was what REALLY made him a house-hold name what was what REALLY got Rick Baker discovered. After people found out that Rick did the work for "Thriller", he was getting offers from movie companies left and right. At least, that is what I heard. I don't know if that is actually true or not, that is just what I personally heard.

why should CGI replace practical? Jurassic Park is a perfect balanced movie of practical and computer effects, why can't others do that? full CGI movies are usually terrible.. I got kinda excited for that Pacific Rim film, but it just didn't do anything for me, no scene stuck in my mind like it would if it was practical monsters, those fights would be memorable those monsters would be memorable, I don't even remember the monsters in that film.. even the 50's B-movie monsters stick with me more than these new films do..

Hollywood pats the backs and tries to throw a saddle on artists and ride them till the batteries are ran out.
