Dear Candice, as far as I know it, Miss Angelina is in top shape. She goes daily to the Gym for weights and does some running. At Las Vegas she wore a gown that weighted around 15 or more kg.
Distance running she does since she was young.
I personally prefer the version in the church.

@@candicefontaine276 As you saw, the gown was made of shiny palettes. These are made of metal. There are some infos that the gown weights "only" 10 kg, and I used this first. Then I got mail from an angel who was there, he said 44 lbs.
The "church-version" is clearer. You can concentrate on the lyrics and there are less instruments as AJ normally prefers. The other versio is for me too "mainstream"!!!
I am an elderly man of almost 65 years, I prefer the more jazzy music of her.
The only thing I criticise AJ for, is her tendency of wearing VERY sexy clothing.
She is in danger of getting herself stamped as a new Marilyn Monroe, if you get my meaning. Even in her Documentary you see her mom pointing at her deep neckline.

Candice, thank you for the wonderful reaction. You are the only reactor to mention "walking it off" when presented with troubles of one sort or another. I think that is precisely the message of the first video with pop music. The second video you showed is my favorite with just piano, played by Tony Gad one of the writers of the song, and strings and Angie's voice. Her rendition of this song is spectacular with her unique voice and delivery. In my 79 years no singer has ever delivered more feeling and empathy than Angelina Jordan.

And I just realised that although the street version is for Angelina as an artist and the church version for the Toby Gad piano diaries (featuring Angelina Jordan), Toby almost totally stands (or sits) back to revel in the implied glory of Angelina. So basically it becomes two versions and two videos for Angelina. I think that tells us something about how he sees their relationship…and Angelina as an artist.
I think each version actually uses the same vocal, just different instrumentation. The stripped down version allows you to hear the details in her performance better.
The other version gives it a more contemporary sound probably to appeal to a younger audience.
You make some good points. I did question if the vocals were the same recording whilst editing the video.. Also, l think you may be on to something with your older/younger audience comment.
I like the video with AJ dressed casually!! Her voice is smoother especially in the higher register. I loved the cello and piano in the other one

This video is a lip-sync to the track, but her walking the streets of London make a great back drop to a walk. I wasn't familiar with Beyonce's versions, but watched her performing it with a slew of soldiers, choreographed at some awards show, then a music video. Angelina doesn't need all the bells and whistles, her voice is all needed. The other video, features only a piano, a cello, and her gown, performed in a huge empty church. In the Church version, her voice is more in the forefront, giving the song more emotional impact. And yes, she indeed sings it in a lower key than Beyoncé. I had also noticed the multiracial and multicultural aspect of the more upbeat video, perhaps to remind us of her desire to sing for the whole world. Great reaction.

She has released songs in pairs like this in the past, two different arrangements. One referred to as an "official video" and one referred to as a "live studio version". The live studio versions are, in my opinion, always significantly better for showcasing her amazing voice. Less bells in whistle, more acoustics, more pleasing mix. But this official video is absolutely lovely and gives us a chance to marvel at her beauty while listening to her incredible voice.

Both these covers are glorious but personally I prefer the Piano Diaries version with stripped down instrumentals - it lets her voice absolutely shine. Thanks to Toby for asking her to sing this reinvented cover of his song for his Piano Diaries album. Toby is quoted saying, “Working with Angelina has been nothing short of inspiring. Her ability to channel profound emotion through her voice adds a whole new depth to the song.” They are also working on other songs for AJ. This will be huge for her. This year will absolutely launch Angelina to the general public. She has now arrived after 16 years of practice.

Nice reaction! There are 2 versions of the song....The Piano Diaries Version and the one you are watching called the Artist Version. It's also the official music video for Angelina. This version is a much more commercial sounding song than the Piano Diaries Version. The instrumentation is very different but the song stills sounds great! This song is made to be played on the radio! Yes, she was in London with Toby Gad for The Other Songs Event and The Ivors Awards. This video was produced and directed by Toby Gad. He was the one on the piano in the second video. Gad actually co-wrote this song. The other co-writer of the song, BC Jean, was the first to sing the song as well as the person the song came from. She had just broken up with the man that she loved. Per Toby, they played it for Beyonce one day and she really wanted to sing and use this song, and the rest you say is history. Angelina and Toby have been working together for a while creating new music for her. The song called Bad Valentine will be released in a few months and that song is FIRE!

Hard to be sure but i think the two vocal tracks are slightly different. Seems to me the high runs are little shorter and just wee bit lower in pitch in the official video. along with the different instrumentation makes it more streaming, radio and tour friendly. The piano diaries version feels more vocally intense to be reserved for special events. Could be totally wrong and both are spectacular

Personally I do prefer the video from the church, as it emphasizes even more on her beautiful voice and her absolute class, but I also love the "let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London, I will show you something to make you change your mind" video, as it definitely speaks more to an audience that hasn't yet been introduced to her. It's much more in the vain of a more traditional and contemporary song/video, and the arrangement has more OMPH (or how you say it) to it. That being said, Angelina is one of those rare artists that don't need musical OMPH arrangements, as their voices deliver enough OMPH on their own. She's a very rare breed, and she's well and truly ahead of the game and the flock I think. Unbiased thinking I might add😆 Take care and have a wonderful weekend when it arrives. I do prefer the second one you listened to, because of the chosen music instruments, but they are both very, very good. In the first video you reacted on Toby Gad, one of the co-writers of this song (back in 2008) plays the piano. The second video you reacted on he has filmed and produced. And that tells everything about his thoughts about Angelina as a performer/singer, I guess. Maybe the first video will attract more people because it sounds more, how to say it,.... "poppy". But it fits Angelina: it is not a far cry from what she normally does, although it is less jazzy as usual. It sounds a bit more as popular music does but (again) I like the second version more. At first I thought they have used the same vocal soundtrack and used different instrumental sounds for each video (which would be absolutely o.k. to me). But maybe the "poppy" version is a bit faster. I am not sure.
That is a good comment. You have got me thinking. l will have to listen again. I know sometimes the musical arrangement can make a track seem to be uptempo than another when infact they have the same beats per minute. I hope I'm making sense.
@@candicefontaine276 Yes, that's what I am thinking. Because you can hear the echo in the church when she walks in but not when she sings. But maybe they can filter the echo out, I honestly have no clue about those technical things and how that works. And in the first video you can see very good that playback singing is something Angelina is not very used to which is funny to me.

I don’t see any difference in the performances; it’s the same performance from the church projected into the video of walking through town. It’s just that the church performance with only the piano and the cello comes off cleaner.
