Started by an arsonist who pushed a burning car into a gully and walked away. He's been caught.
Is that the one that drove for miles on a rim?
So then why is every MSM outlet blaming 'climate change' ?
Life in prison would be appropriate for him
a pedo arsonist
Oh no...
Worried about unhinged homeless people turning into arsonists.
I live in Chico, yup some guy pushed a burning car into a ravine in the park, 27 mile long park, into the mountains. He got apprehended.
Both awesome and sad at the same time. Its going to leave our state with a big black eye. God protect our heroes trying to put it out.
in what way is the deliberate destruction of trees & murder of animals "AWESOME" ???
@@radagastaddams3703happens all the time with lightning strikes in California
As sad as it is, a lot of california native plants are adapted to fires, and come back stronger then before the fire. It also improves the soil, and kills non native plant species not adapted to fire. By next spring, the area will be green
@radagastaddams3703
Definition of Awesome
Extremely impressive or daunting; inspiring great admiration, apprehension, or fear.
"the awesome power of the atomic bomb"
Yeah it'll be green pretty quickly. I thought the same after the 2020 fires (which I suspect were also done by arsonists) but you cant even tell those happened anymore just a couple years removed.
0:57 Stunning Pyrocumulunimbus formation😍
I noticed that too.
Can't blame climate change now
At the time of this post (7-29-24 8:32AM PDT) the fire is 368,256 acres).
And I am supposed to conserve electricity to save CO2?!
The new GOES birds are amazing! Way better than the ones I worked with in the 80's.
Birds? 😳
RIP animals 😰
And California is doing nothing to prepare for what will be an epic fire season. Arson or not, the State needs to mitigate the fire risk to homes. Their refusal to do so has lead to insurance companies threatening to leave.
It's astonishing to see the fire grow so quickly through the timelapse video from space. I hope everyone in the area stays safe
Dont worry the UK ULEZ money will capture all this Carbon ???

While the cause of this fire was an idiot with a burning car, the root problem is much more corporate.
The Logging industrial complex has replaced countless of our 'Forests' with monocrop pine plantations, which get killed by pine beetle, and then the standing dead trees go up in flames the next summer. Logging megacorporations drain the wetlands, destroy the soil humus that stores humidity well into the dry season, and erodes our topsoil that takes millennia to properly replace.
This abuse of our forests increases both flooding AND forest fire events, we have allowed billionaires to steal our 'forests' and turn them into cash crops. Pine Plantations that don't have the soil humus, wetlands that a old growth forest would. water absorbing (and ergo cooling) properties that a tall, healthy, biodiverse, well shaded old growth forest has. the destruction of biodiverse natural spaces is accelerated by widespread use of pesticides to kill all the broad leaf trees since they grow slower (and ergo make less money for these billionaires). The monocrop pine plantations we incorrectly still call 'forests' catch pine beetle en-mass, and then go up in flames in the heat of the summer since most of them are now dead and dry.
Write your politicians about the unsustainable actions of logging megacorporations who are pillaging rare ecosystems as fast as possible and shipping the unprocessed logs overseas. This is NOT a sustainable supply chain of industries, this is billionaires pillaging public resources as fast as possible. Sustainable logging is great, but these are not a family wood lot thats burning. the eco-crimes that NATO encourages is destroying a long term asset for a quick buck. Ecotourism alone would be worth more than the 1 time logging of a 500 year old tree.
BC Timber Sales and its ilk are what you get when you cross Rhino Poachers with billion dollar, taxpayer-subsidized, for-profit, Corporate Industrial Complexes with titanic negative externalities.

the problem is much more complex, it's gavin newsome stealing all the money supposed to go to maintain fire breaks and then blaming Trump for global warming causing forest fires.
Simply stated, the rich fuck up our world.
All good information, thank you for sharing. And the sad thing is we’ve known about the dangers of mono crops for a while but they somehow keep getting planted. 🤔
👏
Yeah, real forests don't burn this easily. Those companies destroyed the real forests long ago and replaced them with an inane attempt to improve on nature that failed.
This happened legit 3 blocks from where i live, it was pretty crazy to witness

I'm curious. How does a surveilence satellite that's orbiting the earth stay in place for almost 3 days straight?
Geostationary satellites. Meaning the satellites in simple terms are put in a very high orbit that matches the earth’s rotation.

Aint no way that is half speed.
How did they make such a timelapse? From one satellite in geostationary orbit, or with the help of many satellites flying over this place?
Good question,
each frame's taken from the same spot after each orbit if I were to guess
those things travel very fast
Considering it probably completes an orbit multiple times a day (they orbit VERY FAST hence why don’t fall towards the earth) and they can stitch the pictures or recordings together to make this timelapse?
Likely from one in geostationary orbit, since you can easily see pixels (which means its likely too high up to see in full detail) If they used satellites in lower orbit the map would likely have been more detailed (I think Google Maps uses these for their detailed satellite map) but this is just a guess

That's what happens when you don't log or graze and you let tree diseases run rampant. You end up with massive fuel sources with nothing to do but wait for a spark. It has nothing to do with "climate change". Geological records indicated we had much larger fires in N. America prior to the industrial revolution and settlement.
In all my years living in Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas, and Kentucky, I've never even heard of a large fire like this here. Most all the land is private and is logged and grazed. We have trees that are older than my parents on our property because we clean up the understory and we don't let pests and diseases kill the whole forest. Goats, pigs, and cows mow down all the fuel, making mini fire breaks between the trees. The understory is grassy pasture with huge poplars, oaks, and hickories providing shade.
Is it not true that earth is the only known planet in the universe to have fire on its surface? Fire is a direct result of an oxygen rich atmosphere. As far as the universe is concerned, fire is just as alive as humans or any other living creature. I tend to agree.
No
Can it double up again 😂 wicked
Unfortunately the guy who started it will only get a slap on the wrist because the cali judicial system is a joke🙃
Non moving satellite?
Geostationary. It moves at speed relative to the rotation of the earth so it stays above the same place on the surface

that's not going out without a heavy and prolonged rain, then winter will come and in the spring it will be somebody else's turn to face the next 'biggest fire in history', what a mess we've made of things . . .
what do you mean by "mess we've made of things" ? this was started by pedo arsonist commie, what a mess YOU'VE made of things.
and this will be newly built on land by then
The winter will come and it will be a huge mudslide mess. You forgot that part.
To grow again those trees need at least 30 years without any fire in the middle.
Forest drop the temperature of nearby land and create microclimate with rains and clear water.
Now for the area in perimeter of 100 kmh the temperature will increase at least 4 degrees Celsius.
That’s it
Well, there goes all that carbon reduction all those electric cars did for the last 5 years. Good job California.

So true, he's a tremendous expert on forest management.
It’s undeniable that California is mismanaging its properties. Only question is why. Perhaps read more than sensational headlines meant to shape your perception.
Maybe it's time to go back to controlled burns and selective forestry?

We keep on sending money to California. Why?
Hmmm. Should’ve culled the forests. But no.
laptop or pc potato Rigs when launch GTA6
Can you imagine how big fires used to be when we didn’t have resources to put them out? Wow.
They were smaller because they happened more frequently. Attacking any forest fire as hard as possible leads to massive fires when you can't out them out right away.
If wildfires are an issue for you all why are you guys more focuesd on the california fires and not the Oregon super-wildfires?

Fires don't start because of climate change, they spread because of climate change
Could climate change affect the conditions that allow a fire to blow up this big? Or increase the frequency of the bad conditions?
"From space" yeeeee sure lol
primary cause of fires is the trees
Trees didn't CAUSE the fire, but they've certainly provided plenty of dry fuel for the fire.
Dense understory fuel loads and lack of preventative fire maintenance is what “causes” these fires. That is primary variable number one. There are many others, but this reason alone is at the top of the list.
