What kind of snakes do you have there? My mom always says that the snakes are more afraid of you than you are of them... I'm not sure I believe her, but I guess they do try to avoid attacking and biting until they feel threatened enough. It's their home after all.
We have water moccasins and copper heads that are poisonous
