#stopskeletons #gamecollection - Hry
Let me know if you like this! I got more ideas for vlog style videos. Also, Punching Weight returns next week! 💪💀
Burger King Trilogy is something I always hover around getting. I wanna try them especially the Pocketbike Racer since I like trying new racing games. I remember the cardboard cutout showing the Burger King game offer.
More of these videos about things you own which are interesting would be really fun to watch :) Like what are your most shamefull game purchases or what are your most coincidental finds or something like that :)
I liked it, but I'd have loved if you'd used game footage for all of these games, even just a brief snippet to show what they're like.
I think this peak behind the curtain is interesting. You can see Grace holdin' down the fort while Derek's enthusiasm about the topic makes his brain run a mile a minute. It's a great dynamic you two have going on there; one person making sure they hit all the top level bullet points while the other is keeping track of the sublevels for each one.
I love these videos guys, Derek's enthusiasm is so catchy.
"It was only released on the Dreamcast" is one of the most bittersweet sentences in gaming.
At least the DreamCast still has decent exclusives, most of 3DO's good exclusives have been ported to other consoles or PC by now.
Truth brings back great memories though
I hope one day with the help of M2 we will see more and more games from the Dreamcast era brought forward to the current day.
The Dreamcast for the short little life it had (at least outside Japan) did more in two years than most consoles in their entire life. Some of the best fighting games some of the most unique games. It was one last great Renaissance for Sega.
Well, the bright side to that is that the Dreamcast console itself is dirt cheap and has basically no copy protection so if simply playing the games is what you want to do you're in luck! If someone wants to experience everything the Dreamcast has to offer it's pretty easy to do. It's not like some other platforms where hardware is expensive and you'll also have to buy a flashcart or other similar solution unless you wanna pay out the ass for legit copies of insanely overpriced games.
@@JohnnyProctor9 same thing happened to the xbox one, i guess some things don't change.
Fun fact: the Japanese dude that made the Death Crimson soundtrack is great memer, he went viral several times in Brazil because he memed some goofy Brazilian songs in Japanese, lol. He used to frequent a Brazilian meme group called 8balls.
quem
Foda-se
ORUGIA DE TORABECO
If i had to guess i would say that that group consist of 4 brazilian guys?
> Bought new and sealed Duke Nukem Forever for $3
> Can sell it on eBay for $10

Technically, all of the Burger King games do have 2 versions of the game on disc, as no Xbox Backwards Compatible games have achievements, and the BK Games do have them if played on a 360.
Yeah, and the graphics are different. It's most noticeable in Big Bumpin. The 360 version has reflections.
I still can't get all the achievements on Sneak King. Game is as difficult as it is insane.
Yeah, was confused why he said they were just backwards compatible.
The Burger King games actually had 200G of achievements apiece when played in a 360 so they actually do have both original and 360 versions.
They also have graphic improvements in the 360 versions.
Four discs?! In this day and age? I remember Riven: The Sequel to MYST on 5 CD-ROM's, but the fact that New Order is on four now is mind-boggling!
The PC game Phantasmagoria...7 CD-ROMs.
Not really that surprising considering that late era 360 games usually came into multiple discs with one usually being the install, multiplayer, and single player, also Rage on 360 was 3 discs.
And the PS3 version only had ONE!!
@@StopSkeletonsFromFighting I bought the ps3 version for that reason at the time, though it had a 8 gig install which seemed massive back then, also bought the ps3 version of portal 2 since it came with a download code for the steam version.
For some reason I enjoyed that Red Dead Redemption 2 came on two blu rays.
normal plebian: Man, that girl looks cute
Rad Dude: Dude, that babe looks righteous !!
I read that in Sean Penn's voice from Fast Times At Ridgemont High.
"Babe-a-licious!"
If she were a president she’d be baberham Lincoln
If she were an astronaut she'd be Babe Aldrin
Man isn't this a 60s reference ? That's like a billion years ago . It's from when Pangea was still a thing.
Please do that hour long Death Crimson video, I will watch that.
If you can find a Death Saturn too, that would be neat
Also 16:47, no they're separate versions. OG Xbox is 480p, no achievements, 360 has 720p I think, and an actual set of achievements. It's because the games are so small they can fit two distinct versions of each game
I remember the time Circuit City went bankrupt, and our local Micro Center absorbed the inventory. For a time, in the middle of the store floor, was a giant bin filled with copies of a single game:
John Romero's Daikatana (PC).
They were letting them go for $2 each. I regret not snagging a copy just to own it.
if you bought that entire box and didn't open a single one, you probably probably have easy money for some time given how much the game is going for on Ebay, not crazy money but more than 2 bucks a pop XD
*Death Crimson title screen*
Game: "Dis-crud-y-ism."
Me: "... What???"
The pronunciation of crimson should tell you right at the get-go what you're getting into with this game.
Meanwhile the Resident Evil Zero announcer sounds like he belongs in a hip-hop music video. God I love when they have people read out the titles.
About 6 months ago I refound your channel. I was a HVGN fan from a long time ago and the SSFF videos kept showing up in my feed. I finally watched one realised who it was... oh shit I remember him this guy is great! I proceeded to watch your entire history of videos in under a week! Now I really look forward to your stuff!
That’s awesome, welcome back!!
The most interesting thing about Totally Rad was inspiring the webcomic “Kid Radd”, a weird webcomic about video game characters escaping rom dumps of their games onto the internet. It was made using HTML and tiny 1x size sprites so the comic loaded up super fast, even over dialup.
1. I wanna know more about Death Crimson. It's so beautiful, I wanna know more about the game itself and how it came to be.
2. I still got that copy of Sneak King. Opened it though.
The absolute passion you and Grace have for games as a medium gives me something to aspire to
I didn't knew the guy who made the OST for Death Crimson was Kunitaka. That man and his Channel is AMAZINGU. He makes karaoke versions of probably any Song you send to him. Such a Nice guy.
I can beat your DNF cost.
A few years ago, I bought a sealed copy of Wipeout Pure for PSP at EBGames for, no joke, 99 cents!
And my motivation for doing so wasn't even for the game. I needed to break a five dollar bill for bus fare!
I'm deadly serious!
FWIW, I did like the game. And it certainly wasn't dumb.
Used to be able to buy Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt for 29 cents. The game was insanely common because it was a pack in, so it was extremely common in the early 00s.
I don't know the specifics of how the BK Xbox games work, but they're definitely not just running in backwards compatibility on 360 because they have achievements. Also the control prompts change depending on what system you're playing on.
I know this is a late comment, but Sneak King is small enough in size that it has both a 360 and OG Xbox executable that are read by each system respectively
Fun fact: The woman on the cover of PocketBike Racer is model Brooke Burke who is also a playable character.
Pictionary's soundtrack is the stuff of legends. Tim Follin is incredible!
Funnily enough The New Order made it seem like buying that game was the only way to get access to the Doom beta when in reality it turned out to be an open beta that anyone could've tried, so that was an oopsie on their part
What i love about this dude videos is how genuenly happy he looks while taking about anything
I'm pretty sure a Tim Follin soundtrack could make literally any game slap. Dude was a stone-cold genius and Solstice has my favourite chiptune soundtrack in history.
If you thought Totally Rad had a bizarre manual, check out ALL the physical extras that came with Uniracers. Including the manual.
I have the game and manual, but lost the rest, sadly.
Also sadly, believe it or not, PIXAR is the reason that game will never be re-released. Yeah. That Pixar.
I understand, I buy a lot of stupid stuff as well
"I own a lot of dumb shit..."
Is that a freaking Robbie the Robot coin bank?!? My man!
Awesome video :)
I would looove to see a Death Crimson review by you guys!! The teaser you did looked awesome :D
Lots of greetings from Germany :)
"Hey! That's mine!" and "I got mad at you, I remember now" are great. Thank you Producer Grace
The dumbest game I own is God Hand for the PS2. I love that game
There's nothing dumb about owning God Hand. The game is an all-time gem unironically.
You mean the smartest game you own is God Hand. Because that's the smartest game ever made by humans.
The only thing dumb about God Hand is IGN's review of it.
God Hand is one of the few games that I think earns a 10/10. Brilliant game play and story so stupidly self-aware that it's genius.
Once I was DJing a convention in Collinsville, IL, and John St John signed my friends patron bottle and he got really emotional and it was a beautiful moment.
Derek, you're not dying on that hill alone, DOOM multiplayer was and still is amazing
Lol, love grace chiming in the background. Reminds me the rush hour bloopers where Chris Tucker couldn't remember gefilte fish.
I really liked that line about how there’s no bad and good media, there’s only interesting and uninteresting. That’s a good observation.
I love your simple clean production values, high energy and playful sense of fun--a perfect mix and a great channel!
I LOVE these videos. Its great to see such enthusiasm for collecting. I’ve been needing a spark to excite my interest in playing/collecting games and this video has helped a lot.
Oh hell, that's why Pop Team Epic's final episode opens with a using Death Crimson gag, THAT IS ALSO KUSOGE
"Stay dumb"
A good reminder. We all should have a little fun in life
Funny story, I was cleaning out my parents old house when we moved and I found an old copy of Illbleed that actually ended up working, I’m still holding onto it because unfortunately, due to the scratches on the disk, it glitches out so I’m getting it resurfaced
The Burger King games do play on original xbox but they also achievements on 360!
The true signification that you've been collecting games for way longer than you should've is when you take pride and joy in owning 15 copies of Sneak King on the XBox
Your reasoning for Wolfenstein is the same reason I have a copy of Riven on PS1, that sucker is FIVE discs. There's not even enough space in the case for all five so the fifth one is just loose in the middle of the case lol
My most expensive game ever was Panic Restaurant on the NES. I bought it for $2.95 in like 2009 at a used game store in a bin of "misc NES games". I sold it a couple years ago for almost $600 and bought a decent sim racing setup.
Which has the most metal title? Death Crimson vs Metal Wolf Chaos vs Holy Diver. Go!
Trick question: they all have the most metal titles to ever rock
Depends on the style of metal, I think. Some people go with the simple choice, "Metalstorm." Others are more into the dark, gothy vibes of "Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night." Maybe you're into neo-classical symphonic metal, and "Dragon Quest" is more your thing.
I think you just won.
Metal Wolf Chaos
It has three rocking words :^)
That pictionary track is bumpin'. You should do a vid on the most totally rad tunes in old games, dude!
Been loving your videos. I kinda wish this video had more demonstrations of the games like in video 2. But never the less! I love your channel. Keep up the amazing content :D
Talking about Death Crimson: "It's a light gun game"
Shit, that's all you had to say!
5:54 Ok, you got me with that one, SSFF. I now love this man.
Tim Follin! I used to do almost the same with Solstice that you did with Pictionary, just putting it on to listen to the title theme before school some days. My brother got it in 1994 (though he probably doesn't remember it), and I immediately became attached to it, and used to re-read the story in the manual. The poster has disappeared, the manual is falling apart, but the game works. I love exploration games, and it's a good one.
Was it you guys that revealed the factoid that apparently the coder for Doom from the Saturn at one point claimed they had the game running at 60fps with fully polygonal levels, but John Carmack demanded they stick to the raycasting engine and that's what obliterated performance?
Great video! Love these strange games you shared, fun to see some fairly obscure stuff.
The Burger King games are actually 360 games because they have achievements, and original Xbox games on one disc
Wow, DNF got the "old games left over from last-gen" closeout price treatment only a year after it came out? Yikes. I've only had that happen twice, and weirdly enough both of them were King of Fighters games, one on Xbox and the other on 360.
Also if you're gonna mention Tom Follin, #RaiseYourPuzznic
I remembered I bought a new copy of Knack for 3 dollars when you showed your Duke Nukem XD
Dude i love this kind of video, I hope you do more of this! Love your work keep it up!!
9:25 An Original XBOX, Duke Nukem Forever, and two DVD box set seasons, and somehow the most expensive item on your receipt from 2012 is a 6-pack of MINI DV tapes. Don't remember them being quite that expensve back then, but they were probably on the way out for sure by then. Not to mention, seems like all the MINIDV camera's me and my friends owned in the day all seemed to die within a year or so, sadly.
That is the most amazing thing ever that you'd have an NES primed up to play the Pictionary music at a moment's notice, hahaha!
I'm so glad you mentioned Illbleed. It's legit my favourite Dreamcast guilty pleasure games. You're like the friend I wish I had so I could have fun with dumb stuff.
Rocking out to the pictionary ost while making dinner is relationship goals
"Dethu Kirimuson " gets me every time
I love these videos. Nice filler between the bigger, high production content. Plus it was a chance for you to talk about Illbleed. More Illbleed please. Also... Death Crimson. Wow, just wow. Never heard of it before this video but now I am obsessed.
you're so happy talking about it! I had a complete copy of Totally Rad I had sadly sell. Maybe one day I'll rebuy it!
Media only being considered interesting or not interesting instead of good versus bad is some of the most big brain stuff I've heard in forever. Well said sir *tips the fedora*
I see that Robie the Robot behind you! I remember getting one at a Radio Shack when I was little, and I would take him everywhere with me. ❤️
I really liked this video. Your style works very well with this format.
I remember that moment in time when Best Buy was selling Duke Nukem Forever for $3. I immediately bought 3 copies and traded them back into the store to flip them for a slight profit.
Love this new stuff! I also like that you censored yourself when you swore in the beginning but then you didnt censor yourself at the end
I love how excited Derek gets about this type of stuff. Grace's commentary was top notch.
Whenever Derek is talking in front of his game shelves, all I do is look at his GBA boxed games, especially that Metroid Zero Mission box. I love GFB/GBC/GBA games complete in box cuz you dont see them as often, and I just find them interesting.
Love this! Feel like we get to learn more about you and the weird shit you own!
The pictionary soundtrack on NES really is fire. Tim Folin did some fantastic work back in the day.
Just like Everton C said, the composer from Death Crimson got really popular here in the Brazilian meme circles hehehe but man, its kinda heartwarming to see him because you can tell that he loves what he does! Even if its kinda bad it got so much passion!
I didn't want to believe the Death Saturn could be a real thing but it was the first friggin' result for デスサターン. The madman literally glues the disk to the drive, glues the lid shut, and even glues the reset button. Absolutely mental.
Awesome! I had that yellow robot bank when I was a kid. I really want to get another one! Ah, memories...
Personally I really like collecting old sports games, for 3 reasons:
-I'm a huge sports fan, so naturally I like games based on sports;
-Each individual game is a nice snapshot to a moment in time, what that individual sport looked & played like in a specific year, who was good/bad, what players the devs _thought_ were gonna be good, etc.;
-Most of them are dirt cheap. Like, you can get ESPN NFL 2K5, the best football game ever made, for $2 at most game stores! How can you beat that deal?
16:48 Nope, that is incorrect. The DVD Disc contains both Xbox 360 AND Xbox OG versions, it changes depending on what you use it on. It takes advantage of the fact that Xbox 360/OG discs are made in such a way where the data starts at a specific point on the disc instead of the very center, both console have different starting point and depending which is started first, either the 360 or OG version is booted, that means there's both XBE and XEX binaries on the same disc, which is amazing
Dude, y'all are awesome! I've been watching since the hvgn days. Hopefully I'll be able to be a patreon supporter soon.
Someone burglarised my house when I was like 5 years old. At Christmas the next year my dad gave my brother and myself another NES, 2 controllers, TMNT, Mission Impossible and this game we call Totally Rad. Totally was one of my favorite game on NES back in the days !
Ohh and yeah Tim Follin's ost of Pictionary Kicks major arses !
4:14 Sincerity is the difference between a bad piece of media and a 'so bad its good' piece of media. It's easy to tell when someone isn't trying. It's when they do try; but still fail that it becomes enjoyable.
Also yes please I would love to see a video on Death Crimson. Doing videos on obscure games I'd never heard of is how I got into your channel in the first place.
I really like the music in Super pinball: behind the mask for SNES like seriously jolly jokers theme is so chill
I got both Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey they are my favorite late generation multidisc games.
My favorite part about game collecting is finding games in blockbuster cases
I played a lot of games by way of rental and it just really puts me in a certain place
When ever I think of ill bleed I think of those wood puppets and the music in that level that just goes baleep bop 😂
Derek, your joy at the simple pleasures in life, such as the Totally Rad instruction book, is really inspiring. I hope I can find pleasure in the little things like that too someday.
I mean, I bought bound by flame just cuz I liked its cover as a display...
PLEASE I'd love to see a Death Crimson review/live stream!
My favorite dumb game in my collection is definitely either Sneak King, American Chopper on PS2, or Spec Ops: Stealth Patrol on PS1. The animation when you plant explosives in that game gets me every time.
Man i love this dang channel. I too have a strange obsession with abstract games and weird ports and basically all the trash media tied to gaming. You said it best anything that's The Room of video games
I use to have that yellow robot in the background. You flick coins in its mouth with the left hand and the eyes would wiggle. Man, those were the days.
OMG I recognize the little yellow coin eater. I think we got one of those from Radio Shak a long time ago. they are so derpy.
One of my favorite pieces of my video game collection is an original Xbox game called "L.A. Rush". It's a pretty decent game overall and I remember liking it but the reason it's special to me is that it has the best cheat code I have ever seen in a video game: "Fast Traffic". The code will cause any NPC vehicles on the road to accelerate with no limit.
You will find cars stuck in midair as they crashed into power lines and disassociated from gravity. You will find cars hitting curved walls at hundreds of miles per hour and flying off into the sunset. You will find that getting hit by one will send you rocketing across the map. I'd say 60% of the times I booted up that game it was exclusively to play with that cheat code and no other reason. It's a forgettable game with an absolutely unforgettable cheat.
It's a bad game with one incredible redeeming quality.
I love the kind of weirdness on special topics :D Thanks Derek,Greetings from Germany :D
Holy shit I remember watching you play Illbleed. Wow that nostalgia just slapped me super hard.
I stopped listening to Billy Idol to watch this vid and yes.
It was worth it. 😄
When the rebel yells: "I want more goofy games!"
@@Moonbeam143 To this day, we still want more, more, more.
I stopped watching to listen to a ad that was slipknot and realized it was an ad xd
I've never previously heard of it before, but please do a longer in depth video about Death Crimson.
5:58 DID MY NEW HERO JUST CALL THE GAME HE WORKED ON "FUCKY"
(In response to your bit on pictionary) I just have to say Tim Folin is legendary.
My favourite Tim tune is Chronos for the ZX Spectrum.
I, too, own a boxed copy of Pictionary for exactly the same reason as Grace. Tim Follin is an absolute legend.
I own three copies of Shaq Fu. I can relate. I;d love to see you dive into any of these games more. It's just fun to watch people be passionate.
I own death crimson OX for dreamcast,, neverplayed it yet tho.. looks like I should maybe play it?? Great vid love the channel!
You should, it's actually pretty good.
