I am curious about Guitars Garden website, does their inventory go pretty fast? Saw a FFMN on another CZcams channel that was only a few months ago and noticed that Guitars Garden doesn’t have any FFMN listed. The good news is my very first Firefly FFSP is today on the way to my house, hopefully I like it (probably will).
From what I have heard and experienced. They run certain models and sell them until they sell out (which appears to be somewhat quickly) then it is a waiting game until they list the next batch of models. That's about all I know.
Got 2 CV50 Teles...one is heavy...the other, a Purple Pete from Andertons is rather light...pine vs alder (or something). Both great after pup replacements. HB's are even better guitars and better value...got 2 of them also.
@@TedTalksGuitars My HB TE52 is 9.8 lbs (selling it, too heavy!!)...my TE-63DB is about 8 pounds and as perfectly made a guitar as I've seen out of the last 50 (lefty) I've owned. Amazing feat.
No doubt. I get that. As I said in other videos, it was the only traditional tele choice they had at the time and my wife liked it so there you go. I do like that I don't feel nervous working on it. It really has grown on me. But in no way am I trying to look old or worn. that comes natural for me (smile).
I just shot a video on the explorer style firefly is pretty great. I’ve seen most that come out of the box ready to rock, mine needs some slight tweaking. But great deals.
@@SearchingForTone - That's cool. In my "research" so to speak I have concluded that most of my issues were related to this model and the way FF sandblasted the guitar. My thoughts are expounded in several vids. That said, I would at some point love to try a non-relic FFTL sometime but I can't seem to catch a traditional model in a traditional color. Not that the relic is traditional (smile). Guess they don't sell as well as the two tones, etc. However, I do continue to check in with there inventory from time to time.
Ted, I never expected you to go that way. I hate guitars that come beat up from the factory. To spend money on a new guitar I expect to get a new guitar. There were plenty of other options I presume but Different Strokes for different folks. Regardless of how it looks and feels it should play like any of the new ones that look new.
Yes, I would have preferred a non-relic model solid color (blonde, white, or natural) but I couldn't find one. I figured it would at least give me the sense of what the Fireflys are all about. I will have to wait to get much farther down the road with setting it up to my liking after my next trip. But for now, the jury is out on the looks and feel of that neck for sure. However, I do think it's good bones to mod to my preferences. It feels solid and I really love that the headstock looks more traditional. Thanks for watching and for sharing your thoughts. I meant to give you a shout out, but I am wiped out from me last trip (fresh off the plane) but had to get this thing out of the box (smile).

That said, I had no idea how the neck would feel. I made real time videos of me sanding it down (not for the faint at heart, although comical). The best part about it for me is that I don't feel nervous working on it. It really has grown on me. But in no way am I trying to look old or worn. That comes naturally for me these days (smile).
As a lefty...I have to buy everything online, unplayed. So, if I buy new...I need to make sure I don't damage it in any way as folk will try to mince with price, etc. in the event I want to sell it. So, an already LIGHTLY relic'd guitar, like my Fender CS Closet Classic was a godsend as I don't have to freak out worrying about dings, etc....dings go unnoticed and I play it all the time without subconscious trepidation. But, a heavy relic'd guitar is an eyesore to me...ain't gonna lie.
@@lazvt8469 - The best part of the relic, for me, is that I don't feel nervous working on it just like you mentioned. What's the worst thing that can happen (smile). I really only got the relic model because it was the only "traditional" style tele in a used to be solid color. Of course, my wide liked it so... there you go. My Squire CV (50s) is 8.2 pounds the Firefly is 6.2 - so I like the weight of it. I had a HB it too is documented on the channel. It is a long story.

Well…its a matter of taste, but I would never buy a relic guitar….that makes no sense for me. Someone who wants it rough, gets it rough!!!🤣🤣🤣
