So dumb, manual says press info + reset.
So a logical person would think pressing info + res would be the right thing to do. Apparently not.

Hello! First let me say that I am not a mechanic. I just stumble on some tips occasionally to pass on to others. When my inside lights come on, it's because I bump that little wheel on the left of the steering wheel under the heat and air vent. If it's set to maximum dash gauge illumination, just a little nudge will turn the interior lights on. Hope this helps!

Don’t press.. some Malibu’s want you to hold the bottom enter button for a few seconds then you should be set.

How do you reset your average mpg?

Scroll to the avg mpg. Then hold down the bottom button (with the arrow) until it resets. Usually about 2 or 3 seconds.

For some reason I’m doing exactly that and instead of saying oil life reset and acknowledged it says units English and no matter what button I press it doesn’t reset and then it just goes back to showing the oil life percentage

While trying to find out where you are on this I found an easier way. You don't have to scroll through the menu. It's unnecessary. Just do this:
1) Press both bottom buttons together and hold then release. Next,
2) Press the bottom button to reset to 100%

If you are seeing "oil life reset" after pressing two buttons; then "acknowledged" after pressing one button... it should then automatically reset to 100%. If you are not seeing those two phrases after each step, you need to see a mechanic or you may be doing something incorrectly. This is for 2011 Chevy Malibu. I hope this helps you.
