In 1957, my father, Al Temple, became the first flight instructor for Ethiopian Airline's National Airlines Training Project (NATP). He initially spent about a year flying for EAL to learn what the airline was all about so he could better prepare his future students, then three years training dozens of pilots for EAL. NATP also trained management personnel, airframe/powerplant specialists, cabin attendants and more. These trainees were the foundation for what Ethiopian Airlines has become, and Dad was so proud to have been a part of that.

I would like to add that I was privileged to know EAL's first two Ethiopian citizen flight captains, Alemayehu Abebe and Adamu Medhane. Very skilled pilots and honorable gentlemen.

I'm glad Ethiopian airlines is partnering with other African airlines. ..by merging the African airlines it can become one of the biggest airlines in the world in the near future. Maybe that will show African leaders how African can become more powerful when African countries unite. That's the only way out of poor Africa

Ethiopian Airlines is one of the sign of great economic strive in Ethiopia. Ethiopia is fast becoming number one destination for FDI( foreign direct investment) in Sub Saharan Africa. Volkswagen and the German government just announced that they are opening an assembly factory in Ethiopia. Boeing and Airbus to open an aerospace parts factory just outside the capital with Ethiopian Airlines. A large number of industrial parks currently occupied by the likes of H&M, Gucci. Tommy Hilfiger. Big brand names like Heineken had a huge factory. Ethiopia is fast becoming the new China. Soon you will see made in Ethiopia instead of China Lol..

Ethiopian Airlines is the second longest operating airline in the world, only after KLM. Ethiopian is an undeniable success. Let’s not forget that Kenyan Airways, Africa’s second largest, is also profitable and was the first national African airline to successfully be privatized. Not that there’s any special merit to being privatized.

This is my personal experience what I am writing is my own subjective experience, if you want to cry about it then be my guest: Through personal experience I flew with them twice and I didn’t like how they treated me and my family in the costumer service sector. Not to mention how rude the flight attendants are, oh yeah the food was trash too. If you’re someone who is flying in East Africa or Africa in general I’d advise you to fly South African or Egypt. Hey maybe Somali Airlines will comeback from their 30 year hiatus.

Yes, Ethiopia is still among the poorest countries in the world. But, not for long. It is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and has reduced poverty by a huge margin. Ethiopian Airlines success is one of them. Not to mention that Ethiopia is building the biggest hydro electric dam in Africa. But, let me tell you. Right now, Ethiopia is one of the most exciting emerging economic destination for FDI( Foreign Direct Investment) just take a trip to Ethiopia and see the number of industrial parks occupied by the likes of Gucci, H&M, Tommy Hilfiger. Big brands like Heineken opening factories. Boeing and Airbus soon to open aerospace manufacturing with Ethiopian Airlines just outside the Capital. Volkswagen just announced it is opening an assembly factory in Ethiopia. Ethiopia will soon be the new China in Africa. No one new China guessed China will be the second biggest economy in the world decades ago. So Ethiopian Airlines success is just the beginning. If you have any brain I suggest you pick up the Economist magazine or visit The Bloomberg Global and research Ethiopia. If you're fortunate enough to have any capital, invest in this exciting emerging economy. Yes, you are right, Ethiopia maybe one of the poorest country in the world due to poor leadership in the past but not for long. This I promise you. Ethiopia was a great ancient County and one of the oldest civilization and will once again will be great. Believe that.

if you see this guys name in all videos concerning Ethiopian airline , he always talk hatred comments, none sense...ethiopians dont give attention to this mad guy. he is just talking 20 years back history, frnd let me tell you, ethiopia is not colonized country like yours, you got your infrastructure by colonizers..that time we were protecting our mother land from colonizers, due this we have been poor but now we are changing. but you were slave to white people ..even we helped other african countries to get independence. so what is wrong with you.....stop that type of view to our country, Ethiopia is the pride of Africans , if you are african be proud. if not, ask for Italy how we defeated them. and go and study ethiopian history if you have healthy mind
