That symbol in the wizarding world merch is a time turner! You only see it briefly in the movies. Dumbledore gives it to Hermione so she can make it to all her classes on time, but the gang ends up using it to save Buckbeak and Sirius Black.
I was there the same day! I was there around 5:00 PM It's bigger in person than it looks in the video. The AR feature was really cool, but I couldn't hear anything because it was so loud in there, there was a lot more people there at that time. I love the Super Mario World merchandise, I almost bought the plush star. The Nintendo plushies are more expensive than the E.T. plushies that are larger, which was interesting, so you could clearly see the slight increase in price they must be doing to compensate for how that has to be split with Nintendo. Also I seen some people that were grabbing like 10 of each item (especially keychains) to buy and probably sell on ebay. I love this store though, the model is super fun to check out~ Being in the store feels like you really are in Epic Universe just hanging out in one of their gift shops.
Nice! I'm glad you liked it, I thought it was great, and we're now able to get that epic universe feel! I agree, the model is much bigger in person. Hard to grasp how massive it is on camera. I'm sure there are some monetary splits with Nintendo, which makes sense. I also didn't think there was sound on the AR, I thought it was only visual? But I wasn't even trying to listen, so it may have been more!
I wish I could've seen the Universal Legacy Store before it had been changed to the Epic Universe Preview Center. Unfortunately, I missed out on it because I couldn't afford to go to the Universal Orlando Resort at the time. I know that I shouldn't get my hopes up, but I hope they'll bring back the Legacy Store after Epic Universe is fully constructed and opened. At least the Universal Studios Store is still around.
I could see them bringing it back, maybe revamping it?! That would be cool. I don't know how much traction it originally had, so it'd be interesting what they ultimately turn it in to!

VERY cool! I love the photo-op portals. Can't wait to get down there so I can see everything in person - already see at least 5 shirts I must have. SO MUCH MERCH!! I may not be allowed in that store - there's too many things I need!!! I can see myself spending way to much.... Are those wands the "new" ones, or the older ones? That's an awesome model! Very cool with the AR!!! I hear they are releasing details about Dark Universe this Thursday. That is the section I am really looking forward to seeing that. Very cool - very excited. I know haha! I'm like dang... there's a lot of money I could blow right now if I'm not careful 🤣 And those photo-ops are super smart. Get the full vibe and great advertising for them, too lol. I didn’t even check, I would assume it's what's already available. I think since we don't know much on the new Wizarding world area, I don't know how much they want to reveal in the store yet. The concepts look great for it, though. And the model is soooo cool! The size is absurd, the AR is neat and it gives you a real feel of what we have coming so soon. I was seeing the new land reveal on the horizon! I'm excited to see what the rides will officially be, or at least I assume we're getting a dark ride in there in the big building! We finally had a cooler day today, but we've had a lot of rain all week. But I've heard family back in Chicago say it was getting HOT back up north, so stay hydrated!
I don't know if it's a good idea or bad idea for me to go in there because the way I just virtually shopped watching this...I'm in trouble 🤣! So this is my confusion, are they going to treat each portal like individual parks where you need individual tickets or multipark tickets? That would make sense but then there's Celestial Park which has it's own attractions so it's not like City Walk where you're just walking through. I'm really interested in how they'll do the tickets and APs. Because I would imagine it being pretty expensive if it's just one ticket to gain access to all those different lands.
So Epic universe will be your ticket, you'll have access to EVERY land in that park! Which is going to be massssivveee. How exciting! Annual pass, on the other hand, I'm not certain. I imagine they just increase the price, how does express after 4pm work for premiere passholders, things like that I want to see what they end up deciding. And Celestial Park will actually have a few attractions, but there's talks about the fact this is like 700 acres of land for Epic, and they have like 1300 total or something in that area? So people are speculating either another park, tons of expansion, another "city walk" style area, or a BUNCH of hotels. Will be curious to see how that unfolds, too!
