  • An in-depth look at the Sachtler 607 sound bag for the MixPre 6, MixPre 3 and similar small recorder/mixers. This video shows the features and construction of this bag if you are looking for a fully specified sound bag for a small mixer recorder. which will also provide space for mics transmitters and batteries in a small package. I chose this bag after looking at others, on the basis of features, quality and price.
It is a high quality, well specified, reinforced, customisable bag with two main compartments, front and back pockets, detachable transmitter pouches, rain sleeves and a boom pole loop. The pockets unzip and fold down from the bag sides to give full access to the main interior compartment. Supplied with a padded shoulder strap.
It is slightly more expensive than the small basic Orca bag and considerably less expensive than the K-Tek Stingray for the MixPre series, whilst being fully featured.
This is my personal review of this bag, which I purchased for my own use. It is not sponsored or vetted by the manufacturer or supplier. Purchased from www.pinknoise-systems.co.uk

Pleased it was useful - the Sachtler bag took some finding since it was not well advertised. (my comment here about the mic was about my Baifeili v5 review posted here by mistake !)

Thanks for your feedback. I hope the review was useful. These small Sachtler bags don't seem to be very well advertised so I was pleased I came across it.

Very helpful review, do you know if the battery compartment can hold a V-lock battery?

    • @delcanvideoproductions4895

A naked V-Lock battery will 'just' fit in the battery compartment but there would be no room for a connector. A V-Lock mounted on a battery plate, which you would presumably need to get a D-Tap connection. would not fit in the battery pocket - but you could, of course, put your V-Lock battery with plate in the second compartment of the bag if you do not need it for other kit. The Mix Pre series takes up less than half the depth of the main compartment so that may be an option unless you are using a different, deeper mixer.

How about the sound of the bag versus the quiet ktek bag ? Are the zippers and clips quiet ? How about those metal rings are the quiet are do they make enough noise to show up in audio recordings?

I have not experienced a problem from physical noise from the bag - but the mic is usually a couple of meters away. The rings are held tight on the Velcro straps, the main strap clips are not metal so don't clink. I don't unzip the zips when recording. The Zipper tabs are quite small so have not caused a problem for me. There is nothing obviously annoying but I guess it depends how you are using it - running and holding a mic in your hand you would probably hear something. [ Sorry, I don't have a quiet K-tek bag to compare it with].
