I'm very glad to see that your hands are working better now with the therapy and everything your doing. Keep working at your health and asking questions. I’m sorry I have to say this I’m really surprised that they didn’t check your thyroid or your parathyroid a lot sooner. That’s because I Presley have my own experience with the same type of cramping in my hands, that is due to low calcium in the system.

    • @kaitlynkeely424
      @kaitlynkeely424 Před 6 lety +3

      Ebony Marie Wow - that’s interesting. I was thinking the same thing. When I saw my endocrinologist, he even asked me how I was sleeping. If I was tired all of the time.
      He said, let’s check your levels maybe your Meds need to be changed because thyroid issues can affect your sleep.
      I’m glad I wasn’t the only one thinking the same thing. Or I even thought there might be an issue with her Parathyroid because that’s the (4 small) glass that help regulate your calcium. I wanted to
      Level this comment when she was first admitted to the hospital but I felt bad. I was like “OMG her hands look exactly like mine”.

      Good! Keep advocating for yourself about all the testing. Push for answers. Even if it is IBS, there are new medications to help. Sometimes anxiety can play into IBS and many gastro illnesses. At least for me. Also, Are they getting you out of bed to prevent blood clots? Sorry I worked in healthcare.

    @MissLeopard28 Před 6 lety

    So glad you don't have gastroparesis! It's funny that Paul mentioned testing the thyroid because I thought earlier about asking if you had been tested for hypoparathyroidism. It can cause the really low calcium levels and lead to spasms/tetany in the extremities. In some people, it can lead to parasthesia - tingling of the face. It could also be causing your lung issues because low calcium can cause bronchospasms. I wouldn't be surprised if you had hypoparathyroidism as well as Crohn's disease because diarrhea typically does not lower calcium levels - the loss of fluid usually makes the levels rise so you are an atypical presentation. Hope you get answers soon!

    Random food for thought in case you get hearing aids. My mom wears 2 hearing aids and recently got new ones. She was very excited about how small they were until she realized that when the hearing aids were visible, people could see she's hearing impaired. That can help in some situations, especially if she's at a store, etc and she doesn't answer someone. If they see her hearing aids, they can understand why. Anyway, just thought I would throw that out there :)

    It does make sense. It's those intestines. If you look into it, it's starts with the liver & pancreas. They have to work right in order for the intestines to work right in breaking down food particles & having your intestines absorb nutrients. Maybe have GI check your pancreas & liver? Like I mentioned, "GINGER" stimulates and aides the pancreas & liver. Ginger cleanses these organs to aide in the digestion process thus helping your gut to work right. Barb

    Have they tested you for upper GI for that cough? My daughter had a cough and they kept saying asthma which she does have. To make a long story short she had a horrific cough for 2 years and began losing her voice. Out of frustration I went to an ENT who visually looked at her vocal cords and they were literally being eaten away from acid from the stomach i.e. GERD. She had no signs of heartburn. If that cough is not responding to asthma while you are in that hospital, I would ask for a scope to look at your stomach and verify you don't have GERD. The emptying test and upper GI were all normal. Good luck and I hope u find some answers soon.

    I have the same problem. I have three chronic illnesses and it’s like an endless loop. I get sick, they give me antibiotics and then the antibiotics make me more sick, then I get better, then I get sick again and then the cycle starts all over. The problem with chronic illnesses is most doctors don’t know how to help us so they just give us meds in hopes that it makes the pain goes away but the side effects outweigh the meds. Uggghh. I know how you feel.

    I have to ask you this because my vitamins and electrolytes were so out of balance that I had lactic acidosis. If they have not given you a blood gas either arterial or venus I would ask about it with the hospitalist. It makes you want to poop, diarrhea, you can't breathe (in my case), and most of all my dehydration caused the acidosis. Something to check if you haven't already. Please Janiece, try some light foods like toast, bananas, rice. However, I'm not trying to be your doctor so I don't want to seem that way at all. I hear a FOD MAP diet for bowel irritability and stomach aches really helps. OK, I will leave you alone with the suggestions. Im good intentioned, I promise.

      Probably because Jaquie just got out of the hospital herself for feeding tube surgery, and now she's having IVIG which takes a hard toll on her body...But I bet if Janice hasn't gotten out soon Jaquie will probably visit :)

      Janice addressed this a vlog or two ago. Jaquie just had major abdominal surgery for a J-tube and was in the hospital for nearly two weeks. I'm sure if she could, she would visit Janiece.

    Have they tested you for giardia? I foster kittens and kittens with your symptoms almost always test positive for giardia. I know it is not the same but humans can get giardia and it causes foul smelling liquid diarrhea, abdominal pain, weakness, bloating, weight loss and left untreated, malnutrition.

    OMG, I'm so sorry for your condition - but is your poop still watery?, not a doctor but I do know this, if it is, you're losing vital nutrients through it - if it's not, sounds like something within your body is either absorbing or draining you of it, ask the doctor what they think it could be. Glad that they wanna be thorough this time, so to me like a good thing but I know you would like to go home. Why aren't they giving you the narcolepsy meds?,.i mean if it's gonna help you, maybe just maybe it's acting on all the other conditions causing you to go out of balance?, IDK just suggesting something, and hey if you're home-sick, why not bring something from home which will make you comfortable.
    Well all the best, and take care and be blessed

    Alright...I just have to ask...have they ruled out pancreatitis? Severe abdominal pain, increased pain when eating, malabsorption of nutrients, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. I imagine they have already looked into this but, I had to post a comment just because so many of your symptoms potentially fall into pancreatitis descriptions. Well and I had to give props to my disease...lol, just kidding.

    Hey just a quick question I don't know much about narcolepsy but is there a reason the drs at the hospital won't give her the meds for narcolepsy? Just curious cuz I know I have several medical issues and I am in and out of the hospital quite a bit sadly. But they always give me all my meds I am on at home while I am in the hospital. Sometimes I have to argue and call my own physicians clinics to get all of them but I eventually do get them. Hope she gets better soon and gets some answers. I pray she doesn't have Crohn's disease. I have it and have other issues that seem to make it worse at times. Take care.

      Dee Cates the meds she is on while in the hospital probably has bad adverse reactions to the narcolepsy meds.

      Dee Cates narcolepsy meds don't go well with pain relievers like morphine. So she won't be allowed to take them

      Ok thank you. I didn't mean that to sound rude. Like I said I don't know much about narcolepsy. But that makes sense.

      Thank you for explaining. I really didn't mean anything by asking. I hope she gets answers soon to what is going on tho. Prayers up.
