Most P2's has configurations. P2 (Bells 2 and 3) for caltrain plays an E and G and P2(Bells 2 and 4a or 4) for Metrolink plays an E and A for regular 4 bell or even an A# for a 4A bell.
Caltrain F40PH, MP36PH-3C, Gallery and Bombardier Bilevel cars have their horns, Metrolink F59PH F59PHI, MP36PH-3C, F40PH, Bombardier Bilevel cars have those. But Hyundai Rotem and F125s have different sounds on their horns

Probably the horns on the cab cars are older or maybe clogged? The horn is located in a little box on the bottom right side of the cab car, so maybe it clogged.

Cool. The Caltrain P2s actually sound pretty good. Something about them sound a bit better to me than the Metrolink versions.
