- NFWF-supported projects save the endangered whooping crane from extinction. In the 1940s, whooping cranes were almost extinct. But they're beginning to come back, thanks to the strong work of partners supported by NFWF. NFWF has supported several projects to help the cranes' recovery, from hatching chicks in captivity to teaching them how to migrate, like wild birds do. It's an amazing story. Seeing these huge birds return to the sky, you can't help but be inspired by the work NFWF makes possible.
I just wanted you to know, that while our kids are stuck at home and doing online school, this video was an assignment for my 3rd grader. <3
Thanks for working so hard to save these beautiful creatures... you are all heroes.
A very nice presentation. My interest in whooping cranes began in a Civics class in 1948 when we learned there were only 16 left alive, with the very real possibility that this species would soon become extinct. Hats off to Joe Duff and the other pioneers and participants in working so hard to save them.
I live in coastal Mississippi and, sans airplane, we do the same thing to protect the Mississippi Sandhill Crane. Their numbers are now up from a low point of 40ish to 140! Beautiful animals that I have been fortunate enough to see in the wild a handful of times. Really hope they, along with the Whooping Crane, make a full recovery, like Pelicans and Eagles did.
Beautiful footage! We are proud to be a partner with NFWF in this incredible project.
Please keep it up!! Amazing work. Such a beautiful creature. God Bless you all for giving the whooping crane a chance to make a comeback.
So fantastic. It's wonderful to see decades of effort to save this beautiful bird from extinction pay off by caring, hard working, dedicated and patient people.
I understand you were instrumental..in bringing them to Kissimmee, FL....not far, Lake Nona...Vet Hospital today, they were walking around the property and not afraid of humans...took several pics of 4 of them... beautiful!
there's just something so cute about getting in a little plane to teach the birdies how to fly lol
Amazing people..
Wonderful!
Incredible... thank you for telling this story
this gave me happy tears
Very very very good 👍
You people are amazing! Thank you for your valiant effort.
Incredible... how wonderful that groups of scientists get together like this to save them... what a wonderful story thank you for sharing it with us
As long as there is still life amongst them, there is still hope. Pray for those trying to help species survive. Nothing was sadder than a trip to Disney World fifty years ago, where a captive beach dwelling bird was the very last of its species yet remaining.
Masha Allah. Really you guys so brilliant.
Superb production illustrating wonderful people doing God's work. :-)
Very knowledgeable film, I learned allot from it.
