I love how this class is maturing. Like 6 years ago the Ninja 300 was the example of the class. Plasticy, shite suspension, buzzy gutless engine. They bumped it to a 400, now a 500. The CBR500R looks like a mini blade, the RC390 like a mini prototype GP racer and this Aprilia and the CF Moto 450 seem to be right in the sweet spot of proper performance, great looks and usability. I wish these were around when I had my restricted (25 kW) license instead of having to restrict a bigger bike!

I really think the CFmoto 450 is the main competitor to this bike. I have one and it’s a proper fun time. It was my 23rd bike so it’s not like I’m just starting out. I have my certifications and understand that it’s not 100 percent perfect however the Aprilia seems to be a bike for the experienced rider that can use all of it on track and so forth but the CFmoto is also very capable but has more tech for the regular rider. Example: gps tracking, movement notifications, turn by turn on the dash. Where the aprilia has track modes and things a track rider wants. I still think the CFmoto is kinda king of the class, the price is great, engine is so flavorful, electrics are good, brakes are good, and features are leading in its class. As the owner of three bmw s1000rr’s I would even dare to say that the 450ss is doing what the s1000 did back in 2008. It came out of no where with cutting edge tech on a bike made for the common man. Obviously it’s in two different brackets but I think it’s shaking the tree just like the s1000.🤙🏼

A little clarity on the tyres, they've been doing really well in the domestic market in India. Due to rubber import restrictions, we don't have unrestricted access to international brands like Pirelli, Bridgestone, Michelin etc. which prompted local Indian brands to fill the void. If you rate the Metzeler M5s as 9 overall, these are a solid 8.5 in comparison. Of course more seasoned riders would prefer something better, but these are decent enough as OEM offerings.

For winding, narrow UK country roads, this looks perfect fun. It's not a grandad putt putt Royal Enfield. It's not a ubiquitous ADV bike. It's arguably more aligned with the spirit of the headlong rush, the spirit of motorcycling to many, including myself.
Want to tour Europe in comfort with luggage? Buy a car. Want a Royal Enfield to parambulate, pontificating about the 1950's? Buy a bicycle. Want a usable, pokey and able handling machine that looks the business on your drive, and you want to take out on a nice day just to ride for the sheer joy.....without losing your licence or going through a hedge? Then this machine really seems ideal.

I took a test ride and the gear box was super cluncky. The shifts were very hard and it always went to neutral from 1st instead of 2nd. Was difficult to find neutral even after stopping.
Also the clutch had to be released almost full to move the bike ahead.. did u face this in the bike you had?
When asked about this to salesperson he said it is because the first service was due so i took another slot after the service.. but the cluncky-ness was still there..
What is your experience about the gear shifts and clutch?

For some odd reason, Kawasaki continues to insist it's small twins need to be 180° firing interval. Everyone knows 270° feels and sounds superior...it's the parallel twin version of the 90° Ducati L-twin noise.
