The cast was developed by myself and Ziro.
The music was put on after my original music got removed by copyright infringement (stupid youtube). There were limited options!
Macro_DT of VN convinced me to let it out.
The only person I taught this cast to personally was LeatherII of VN. I gave the video to him, Macro_DT, and Taro(Doesn't play AC anymore).

Turbine announced they will be ceasing future content for AC after the March 2014 patch (which may be in April). They will remove the monthly subscription fee.
Before the end of the year they hope to turn Asheron's Call over to the community to run our own servers and create our own content.
This is probably the most amazing thing I've heard in a while. Asheron's Call is so dear to my heart. It was my first MMORPG. I've played it on off since the open beta.
Turbine will not be closing down AC, they want it to live on forever. And as long as it exists, I will come back to it and reexperience it's greatness all over again.
@requiemoftruth cool dude. my original music was taken off by copyright infringement. i never listen to creed, i just chose it from the poor selection of songs they offered me as a replacement that fit the length of the video. there wasn't much better available...
That's why timing is so important in ANY cast. And don't judge anything in that video except the final example of the whole cast put together.

you're right, there is one slight typo there. but it turns out it doesn't really matter if you do it the typo way or the originally explained way, because you'll be tapping forward anyway (creating the same effect).
It's explained fine, as several people have been able to learn it. The hardest part about the cast is chaining it. It will takes you months to learn and do properly. It's not my problem that you're an impatient little wigger who sucks at AC.
RookieAC tapping forward is not a real fast cast. log in to Phatac emulator and ill end you in two wars

I may not know much about the game, but I'm aware of where your record stands on DT :P. Seems like this cast is the one to beat.

Honestly TY a lot. I use to be a solid fighter back in 03, have a duel win vs AP even. But I evolved into a diff cast, that looked better on my screen. I watched you, and it looked a bit like I use to. After de-volving back to what I was, threw having a friend check, my animation breaks often. I never even knew this back then, I just thought most others where horrible dodgers

Rookie, even though your cast is pretty great it's not really the reason why you're the best pvp'er. If people watch your group fight videos ( especially rookie vs bloods in fiuns ) it's very obvious that your reactions are not only quick, but always appropriate to the situation. That's what makes a good pvper great.
Anyone can now ... atleast try to learn your cast but no one will be have your ability to react to each situation like you did.

Actually, let me clarify. This is straight forward for any who have been around and learned. Not everyone casts like this, so I shouldn't have said it was really 'straight forward'. Just saying I have watched many of the 'greats' in my day do this cast, or one that looks identical. (yes I've watched the video of what it looks like to other people)

I corrected myself on that. And I'm not saying it isn't hard to master. But like I said, I watched your video of 'how it looks to other players', and the top PvPers have like that for years. Maybe you simply discovered a different button combination, but the end result isn't anything new. I haven't played since early 05, but for the couple years before that that I PKed actively, I watched people do this exact cast.
possible, but doubtful. it might do it occasionally, but i doubt it does it to the same extent. simply put, if you aren't doing the same keys, it isn't the same effect.
Ya, I taught him a while back. It's very difficult to do the cast, and will take a long time to master.

I beat rookie once and while but ya... He might be telling everyone his cast. But no one will be able to be as effective as he is in fights. If you are going to sit down and try to learn this cast I would recommend trying to cast exactly like rookie. Sit down learn his cast but in the end make up your own style of cast. Whatever works for you. If you name off the top 10 mages of today none of them cast like each other. They have their own style

That doesn't surprise me. It's definitely a hard thing to test unless you have another comp (or want to look at a ~10 fps screen on your other client while dual logged)...

No, 4 button casts have NOT been the base method in AC for years. 4 button casts have long been viewed as excessive or pointless, except by those who have realized their usefulness. The problem with 4 button casts is the lag they give to your character. Try holding all 4 of these buttons, without tapping, and see what happens. You'll get hit every time. Casts like these are extremely difficult to master,and they are not "PvP casting 101"

I can't argue with what you "thought" you saw, but I can guarantee you that if anyone did a cast that had a similar effect as this one back in '05, there were VERY few people who did. I've played since '03 on darktide, and the only person I faced that had a cast somewhat similar in '03-'05 was Anti Parazi

i wouldn't argue that i was better than anti parazi. he's the best gamer that has ever played AC.
however, it sounds like you fought me on VT years ago. I didn't do this cast until like late '07. i don't care if you criticize my cast (i don't think you're even critiquing what you think you are). few informed people would argue that i am surpassed by anyone currently playing ac, and this cast has a big part to do with that.

Um.. this is some pretty basic PvP casting. Pretty sure people have been using this base method in AC for years. If you taught it to yourself, that's cool and what-not, but it's not anything out of the ordinary. Not trash talking or anything.. you seem pretty good from other vids of you, but this is pretty straight forward PvP casting 101.
