📚✨ A Huge Thank You to the Cebuano Speaking Organization! ✨📚
Your unwavering dedication to the Paper & Pencil Project has transformed the lives of many school children and their families in the Philippines, especially those attending elementary schools in remote areas.
This July 2024, five elementary schools received much-needed school supplies thanks to your generous support. Among these schools, two are located in the remote, mountainous regions of Mindanao Island:
🏞️ Datu Lompipi Elementary School - located about 51 km from Davao City in Lower Kibalang Marilog District.
🏞️ Quibaton Elementary School - situated approximately 61 km from Davao City in Sitio Quibaton, Brgy Dominga, Calinan.
The joy on the children's faces was indescribable as they received their school supplies and snacks. Initially, the Paper & Pencil Project aimed to provide supplies only to first-grade students due to its reliance on donations from members, friends, families, and empathetic strangers. However, because both Quibaton and Datu Lompipi Elementary Schools have a small number of first graders due to their remote locations, we extended our reach.
This year, we proudly supported children in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade at both schools, totaling 120 students. Additionally, we distributed snacks to all students at these schools and to several families temporarily staying at Datu Lompipi's gymnasium after their homes were devastated by a landslide. In total, 375 fruit juices and donuts were shared.
