Al, I actually was a 9 year old boy at the time. My dad had died a year earlier, and I had few occasions to smile in those dark days. But even now nearly 40 years later I remember the thrill of watching the Miracle on Ice.

It's a testament to Al Michaels and Jimmys shows atmosphere that even Norton wanted to get in on the interview.

What an incredible moment to be a part of... I am amazed when announcers come up with iconic lines/calls on the spot like that, who else would have perfectly said “DO YOU BELEVE IN MIRACLES? YESSS!”

Listening to people talk about this event specifically has always been incredibly strange to me, especially on a show like this. My dad's cousin is/was Herb Brooks, so I am very intimately familiar with this. I am especially sensitive to it because of the relationship my dad had with Herb. After my dad's dad died when he was five, the Brooks family took him and his brother (my uncle) in for a large portion of their young life. My dad will still say that Herb became a father figure to him, as there was a bit of an age gap between them. The day Herb died was an incredibly odd day. I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen my dad cry. That day was one of them. I am always so incredibly hesitant to talk about my relation to this event and the man, because I feel like people will just accuse me of seeking attention or something silly. In fact, I've been debating with myself for the last 15 minutes if I should click the post button or not.

I love how Edward says: "You sound like a South American announcer saying GOOLLL" It is true, but that´s a lot of passion, Edward. I am argentinian btw.
