- I never used a WDT for one particular reason. The WDT method of Weiss Distribution Technique has been around for a few years now. With that WDT tools have flooded the market. However, I have never really liked them or used them. Watch this video to find out why!

I agree. I posted this Flair's IG page yesterday:
I push down a little and twist to level the grounds. Then I push down on all sides to create the puck. Then I put all of my weight on it and wiggle back and forth the slightest bit to make sure there are no pockets. Then I spin the tamper to polish and throw on the screen. I never have channeling. WDT tools are pointless in my opinion. You can't tamp too hard. So use that to your advantage and really smash out a nice, dense puck.

Been using tapping method for a few years but just got around to trying WDT. Going to use it for a while and see if I get any better consistency. Also just got an auto leveling tamper, tired of trying to guess if it’s actually level
The leveling tamper is nice!
I use wdt because to me it reduces spurts from naked portafilters and therefore cleaning. Why do I use a naked portafilter though? I don’t know, probably because the looks

My custom made super amazing WDT tool is a toothpick. I get a box of 100 for about a dollar. I figure if all the coffee stars are using WDT, I better do it.
