(Stata13): How to Export Stata Output to Word

  • After performing a regression analysis, how do you export Stata results to word? Using the outreg2, eststo and esttab commands, this video shows you how to export your regression output to a .doc and .rtf (rich text file) interface from where you can format and save as a word document. This is a fast-voice tutorial, so, simply load in your data, follow my cursor and do-as-I-do!

      Excuse me from my english level speaker, because i'm francophone understanding. Think for your video. I like that you enroll the panel data estimation on gravitationel trade model with many restriction to estmate the model. Exemple: i dont know how to estimate panel gravitational model with restrictated the command from area, or the year

    Dear Ngozi, I have downloaded all the Do file from your website successfully. I used Google Chrome to download those files rather than Safari. Safari is not able to download those Do Files.       @@CrunchEconometrix Madison, Wisconsin, USA. I shall be grateful if you could do more videos on the same topic, but ones related to Latex. There aren't many helpful videos showing how to extract the Stata descriptive statistics and regression results to word through Latex, which gives better tables. Thank you.

      No, Sir/Ma. You have to write it out. All you need is just the pvalue of the Test.

    Ma'am, I have tried outreg2 and asdoc for gmm. But it doesn't export the value of various tests as sargan, ab(1) along with the results. Can you please help with that?

      Ok, you can manually write them out. Not sure if a Stata command is available for that.

      Not all Stata tables can be exported. Besides, only the pvalue of the test is relevant which can be written out.

    hi, thanks for a good walkthrough! one question, i am using state on a mac, and when i use esttab to export to an rtf, it exports to textEdit, and not word. Do you know if i can change the preferences on my mac somehow to force it export to a word file immediately? thanks in advance

      Hi Adamu, it indicates the syntax is not installed on your system. On the COMMAND WINDOW type either "ssc install outreg2" OR "findit outreg2" OR "help outreg2"...w/o inverted commas.

      I doubt it. You will have to manually create the table. Try it, though.

      Yes, go ahead and type: findit esttab, it takes you to a page where you can download the files. Because I have it installed, it's not showing me the "download files" link. Unless there is an upgrade.
