Yes they did put a lot of very hard work, and wood working is a art that most people can't do.. and you can definitely tell they was a craftsman.
A couple of layers of 9oz fiberglass cloth would seal/stabilize that really well made wooden body. That's the direction I would take this project.
I like that jeep !
I would buy the VW immediately. From behind it almost looks like something out of CyperPunk.
I would either refine the surface so that the wood really shows off, or I would varnish it.
That willys jeep was in my city! I just realized that awesome, I could dig it, maybe I will see somebody driving it lol, you never know

@@MOTORHEADMISFITS-zk9su Iam actually not even sure what part of our city it was in, there are some cool old projects in our town I seen a 1966 Dodge Charger roller with all of the body parts and an extra body! All it needed was a motor and transmission, for only $3000! Iam not sure if that's exactly what they wanted for it but still very cool, you gained yourself a sub 👍

My brother has a small salvage yard and the yard truck is a "Fortoyssanlet". Part Ranger, part Toyota, part Nissan, and part S-10. It's pretty screwy looking, but it gets him around the yard everyday.

Steep price for a weird experiment but I might see if that wood thing rocks and rolls. I could see taking the inside and making it a cross between a console on the starship enterprise and Captain Nemo's sub. Big screen flat TV's in the doors and the whole dash made into computer screens. Need something to do with that floor (I could carpet better than that)Then either something like a turbocharged 460 ford and/or the running gear out of a tesla Plaid under the hood. A nice lightweight turbine added in would fit the experience (just like LSD and a tub of glue would fit the experience) but a touch worrisome about the fire hazard.

I had a 78 Pinto for work on Saturday duty for phone company what a piece of junk and this was only about 5years old
Oh really.. my father actually won a contest at a Ford dealership and won a 76 pinto, the dang little thing ran really good he drove it as a work car for years.
It was probably one of very few that was worth a crap.. I personally don't care for one.
