  • We Are Rock N Roll, presented by the American Criterium Cup, was produced by Shared Territory, a Colorado-based film company. Over the course of many months, film director Justin Balog, traveled to each of the 2023 season’s 10 ACC events, documenting the cities and teams. This festival-length film features several athletes sharing their love of the sport through discipline, perseverance and sacrifice on the road to victory. Crit racing is fast, technical and an incredible display of sheer power.
    ABOUT AMERICAN CRITERIUM CUP
    The American Criterium Cup is a multiple-race criterium series that elevates the stature of criterium racing in the United States. The series is led by a group of independent criterium race organizers collaborating with and supported by USA Cycling, with input from professional and domestic teams and athletes. Each event has pledged to execute each with standards of excellence, high production quality, and safety. In addition to individual event purses, the series' organizers have added $100,000 for a series purse to be split equally among men and women. The total available event and series prize purse is over $430,000.

    • @neilashton9459
      @neilashton9459 Před 24 dny +1

      @@stokeman363 notwithstanding the sport in general can always use some positive exposure, I stand by my statement. Cory and Justin and Legion get a lot of publicity relative to everyone else that races crits or any other genre. And of course they do a great job with socials and Justin is in the Red Bull ecosystem. All these sports docu-series (Drive to Survive, Call of a Lifetime etc) focus on only a subset of participants to keep the narrative moving. What’s a shame is the most media coverage cycling has seen in years was about the Moriah Wilson tragedy. Americans are crushing it in MTB right now but outside of hardcore fans no one knows. Maybe some Olympics success will help?

    in europe the fastest racers are going racing on road (not criteriums!) and the most powerfull racers are racing on track (and not criterium!). when this video says that Americans have found something they are better than Europeans.... well... well.... and in Europe it is almost impossible to make a career in racing if you are not a decent climber... which takes out many many many powerful racers.

  • @joshuaelundberg3333
    @joshuaelundberg3333 Před 2 měsíci +1

    I'm sorry, but Sohner doesn't know or understand the crit racing teams at all. He puts no effort into learning who the key riders and teams are, rather relying on mentioning the Williams bros in every other sentence during a race. He knows about Legion, Blazers and Austin, that's it.

    • @neilashton9459
      @neilashton9459 Před 26 dny

      Really? Brad is a constant in US bike racing and got this film made. Guessing he does more for the sport than drop negative comments on videos.

      @joshuaelundberg3333 Před 23 dny

      @@neilashton9459 Sorry Neil, it's true. Brad is a decent commentator, but doesn't take the time to learn the teams or riders. Go watch past races he's worked over the years and you'll see what I mean. I believe he made this film as part of an effort to convince/sell his larger media services as a package to different race series in order to showcase he can go beyond just commentating.

    • @joshuaelundberg3333
      @joshuaelundberg3333 Před 23 dny

      @@neilashton9459 Also, I've done plenty for the sport as many have. That's irrelevant here. Hopefully, Brad puts more into learning riders, teams and frankly race tactics in order to provide INSIGHTFUL commentary. Btw, it's not just Brad. I heard Gabe Lloyd the other day and his commentary nearly put me to sleep by being dry and boring, lacking any enthusiasm.
