To Lotte and your friends,
As a dad in the United States I was shocked to the level of self respect and the commitment you all showed in this video. When I say shocked, I mean that in the very best and very respectful way towards you all. I saw real friendships and care and compassion towards eachother. I speak in highschools on suicide awareness and the anti-bullying that I can offer so many. I see those who struggle each day just to walk in the doors of the schools and even colleges throughout the United States. Yet I see no one being pushed off in the background and you and your friends look so respectful for yourselves as well as those around you. I wish I had grown up in your school systems and had such caring friends as you have around you.
There was nothing staged or setup on this video. It was the most honest and caring one I have seen in a long time and with the schools I have visited, it was not that uneasy, feeling of hurtful feelings and the pecking order that causes so many young people to hurt themselves for reasons that just hurt my heart. You really care and you all will be so successful in life. With respect and compassion on not knowing your family situations, I say this with care. If this applies for each of you and I hope it does, I am so hopeful your mums and dads all are proud of you. I am sure you have seen some of the horrible games and pranks played on those within the US school systems and when I saw how you just cared, well it really gives the honest true feeling that there is truly good people on this planet. I know where this comes from, your hearts and those who care about you.
I know I am just some strange guy who you all must think what I am saying is stupid and does not matter but honestly, to me, you all give so much hope to a failing world that is filled with hate and hurt. I saw NOT one bit of that with your video and honestly, I am proud of each of you. I know what I feel means nothing and you must see me as weird and foolish but I promise this is all sent with honest and caring legitimate feelings. NOT one bit of anything inappropriate or misleading. I "liked" your video with respect and I see almost 24,000 others have viewed you and in all those I bet no one felt anything bad or that you were hurtful towards your mates in this and on your daily life at school and at home. Again, I am proud of you all and as I watched this with my 7 year old grandson, he was smiles and said you all are so happy and nice. His words, he is just 7 years old and I have been teaching him that you care, respect and love all whom you are in contact with. Always giving the best of respect towards all girls and to never say unkind things at all, ever.
I hope you share this with your parents as they need to know that across the pond there is some stranger that feels you all really give this world hope, care, compassion and you really will become someone very special to this world. I thank you for this opportunity to share my feelings about your video and about you all. You really are all good people and take a bow, you deserve it. I mean this with my heart, Respectfully and in no way offer anything inappropriate or misleading towards any of you. Be safe in our crazy mixed up world and take care of yourselves. I hope you will also share this comment with your mates. You all are so very special from a caring man that has been trying to make a difference in every life I make contact with. Be well, be safe and never change, only grow stronger and more of the awesome special caring human beings you each are.
NOTE: In a world filled with bad people who prey on those who are kind and caring, there is nothing in my comment that is to be misread, misled or inappropriate towards each of you. My intentions are with absolute respect and care for each of you whom have displayed the very best of those I wish would reflect in this entire world. You all should be commended on how caring and respectful you are. I have never seen such consistent care in such a long time. Thank you for taking time in reading this.

These girls are probably sweethearts, but I have to admit that schools in The Netherlands also have bullies and mean girls everywhere sadly. Our schoolsystem doesn't guarantee friendships or a save and warm feeling at school :(
@@person1960 yes but muuuch less than in the US (I’ve lived in both countries). Bullying in grade 9 (3e klas) and above is rare and students generally treat each other with respect. I think it’s because Dutch students have busy lives and are too busy with themselves and their friends to spend their energy on people they don’t know.

I'm from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰. We have very tough education over here. And we have 3 exams in each year. I'm being so sorrowful while I'm watching this video. 😔💔. You guys are so lucky to born in a like this. I love Netherlands 🇳🇱❤️ more than my country.

sadly, we could never bike to school in the United States. and the private school I went to was very strict. we definitely couldn’t leave to go to a grocery store for lunch. There is no talking during class no socializing with friends. This looks like a nice positive change and a great and environment.

0:40 there are so many bike racks!! At my school there is only enough for about maybe 35 bikes 😭

Very cool video. Your school looks a lot like an American High school. Maybe just smaller and without all of the different races of people you see at an American high schools. What subject do you like best at your school?? What grade (year) are you in?? Does everyone ride bikes to school like you?? You and your friends look so well dressed at school. Very smart outfits with high fashion. Do you like school and do you hang out with your school friends on the weekend?? Hope you will have time to answer. Just curious about Dutch life.

My favorite subject is either English or economics. I like those two the most! I definitely don't like all of the subjects I follow but I guess I'll have to deal with that.
In the NL I'm in fourth grade and that is the same as a sophomore in the U.S.
Yes. Generally everyone cycles to school. Even if it's like an hour of cycling people still do it. Sometimes people go by public transport (such as buses) if it really is too far. Also some people have scooters but no students really go by car.
Almost everyone does their best to look nice at school. Not so many people wear sweatpants or oversized hoodies.
Do I like school? Yes and no. I like seeing my friends and learning new stuff but I think school's trying to do too much. We must meet all conditions the government has set a long time ago and because of that I cannot really do the things I like and I think that's a shame.
Yes we do hang out after school or in the weekends! At the moment we have a test week so we're very busy but I'm sure we'll hang out a lot once we have vacation!

Just one little bit of advice on your subtitles. Just slow them down a little bit. But love that you did that. Had to slow it down to read them, and it was a story of some English guy sniffing your friend..haha. When do you leave for the USA?

So I've heard that Abraham Kuyper was the founder of the Dutch education system and how great it is, but I'm watching this video of high schoolers who don't really study anything meaningfully, on their phones, talking with friends, browsing clothes in online stores, going for a walk to the grocery store... and I'm wondering, where does any critical and analytical thinking, research, and learning methods and gaining skillsets come in? It's not what I expected here.

@@orsonriggs2006 no, all of them teach in Dutch unless it’s an English school. But there aren’t many, Dutch is something your gonna have to adapt to if you are planing to living here.

@@oops262686 not really.. a lot of schools just have a website for the students, and they lead to other websites such as Learnbeat and MemoMax. But you have an app called "Magister" where you can see your homework, periods and your grades. Most of the schools use it but not all of them.

hi i'm also from the Netherlands, it is not rude you can ask what you want :) we have in the Netherlands only public schools sometimes people go to a different kind school but that is because of the religious.
