  • Back in Iowa to visit family and stopped up in Oelwein Iowa at the Hub City Heritage Railroad Museum which has Chicago Great Western history and trains. If you are looking for a cool railroad to model and love service facilities and shops this one from yesteryear in Oelwein could be the one for you . Lot of modeling opportunities here.

Nice tour Bill 👍👍👍 This helps us remember how big the railroad industry was in the past before trucks on interstates.

Dear Bill, such a great video! Definitely will put a visit to the Oelwein Railway Museum on my bucket list. Love the efforts of the museum to keep the heritage of the Chicago Great Western alive. Especially where there has been so much history discarded into oblivion by the proverbial sledgehammer. Definitely am looking forward to seeing your iteration of the flat car modeled. Cheerio
