- Summer is here! I find a suprise when I arrive at the cabin after being away for a few weeks. The garden is also back to its wild state it was when I first bought the place. The war against the lupines continues and I start prepping the barn to be repainted.

Getting all the outside maintenance like the painting done while the weather allows, it's going to be looking very different, very fast. I really like that you are sticking with the traditional colours. Can't wait to see how it looks. 👍
Yes a belated Birthday Marcus .Great to have fruit tree as a gift as not only look nice and give fruit but also keep memories. Nice to see the white stuff has gone and for sure nature does take over a bit if you let it. I just picked some cherries from my tree today .Now the weather is better and being able to stay more you should be able to keep on top of things .Good luck with the battle of the Lupins. Have a great week and its nice to see things coming along . 😀👍 💙💛
Wow is looking gorgeous every piece is the cabin es amazing transformation 😮❤❤
Happy belated birthday Marcus. Your place is looking wonderful. I especially love all the wild Columbine . 🩵
I love lupines, it’s sad they are invasive. The other wild flowers are beautiful. I think it’s nice you want to keep a wild garden. Happy birthday 🎉
Living there more will also give you a much better understanding of what is needed first to make it work for you. You will also get much more done, every small improvement makes a difference. That power bank is also a great addition, it will make keeping your phone and running some essentials way easier.👍
I was looking at EcoFlow, do you know if they are good?
Unfortunately I don't, doing what you are is just a dream right now. 👍
The system I see the most on CZcams is the Bluetti, they seem to be very popular.👍
When you pull up the lupins you could cut the flower spikes off and put them in vases for the house. You can certainly compost them but if you are worried soak them in buckets for a couple of weeks first.
Трішки напевно таки пошкрябав нову підлогу, коли пересував лавку.. 🤗
А взагалі молодий пан молодчина - зробить з будинку казковий маєток! Люблю дивитись його відео...🤗🤗🌞
It's amazing how different the garden is looking in such a short time. Here in my part of South Africa it's been really wet and cold, the start of our winter for sure.
You should use your rugs to put under heavy furniture when you move them - makes it easier and prevents dragmarks on your nice floors
It breaks my heart to see those lupines cut down and discarded as weeds. Such a beautiful flower and the bees love them. I guess every beautiful flower is someone's weed. It's like seeing a friend cut down. Such a pity.
While I agree with you, they can be garden thugs. Personally, I cut my thugs for vases inside which takes care of self seeding.
They are classified as an invasive weed in parts (or all) of Sweden, and land owners are required to control them.
I know it seems sad, and a pity. But lupins are not a native species in Sweden and our bees are not collecting nectar from them and never had cause it is not in their genes. What lupins do here is that they take over and kill the plants our bees do collect nectar from. So with lupins, our bees has less food. They are beautiful but a killer to our native insects unfortunately.

I was sad to see chop down all the lupins 😞
"War against Lupines" - oh my when I long to see fields of them. Humans...we are forever having "wars" with some part of nature.
They are incredible invasive here and are bad for biodiversity.
Summer is wonderful and you have much to do. I like your slowly and old-fashioned style. Flower field is very fine and butterfly like it.
Belated Happy Birthday Marcus, I hope that you enjoyed it.👍
I so love the colors on the house and will😊 paint mine that same red , green and ochre someday ❤
Thank you!
So exciting to see the progress being made in the warmer weather. It looks wonderful. You may find that using a large paint roller on a long broom handle ( or similar) makes painting any walls inside or out much much faster and easier and it is still quiet like a paint brush. Thanks for taking us with you on your journey !!
Happy Birthday Marcus. The wildflowers are amazing! So beautiful .Too bad about the lupines as they are just as beautiful. The barn is going to look amazing once the painting is all done. Such a beautiful time of year to be working outside.
It’s a shame about the lupins being invasive I kinda like them .. happy birthday 🎂
..
Everything is looking good in early summer. To make moving the heavy bench easier, just put an old towel or rug underneath the legs and pull on the arms. This will also prevent loosening of the legs on the bench and scratching the floor. How nice you will have cherries to eat in a few years!
Always amazing, beautiful and inspiring. Your videos are just the nice and simple way of relaxing and learning something new. Thanks for sharing. Happy birthday Marcus! Cheers from Canada.
Those wild flowers are beautiful. Happy Birthday Marcus 🎂
Lovely present from your parents 🎉❤
You have such supportive parents and a nice family. 😊
Buy back cushion for the wood living bench
Happy birthday 😊
Lägg på mögelmedlet med svamp. Borde gå fortare/lättare än med moddlare.
Älskar din kanal och ditt torp!
Good to see you back!
Beautiful garden
Belated Happy Birthday, Marcus!🎂
Welcome back 🎉🎉
Just a few sorts of cherry trees are able to give fruits without other. There are early, middle and late sorts. You have to know what sort you have and need to plant at least 1 other cherry tree near. You havn.t neibours with chrerry trees so bees can bring some other pollen. Or your tree will give just 5-10% of harvest.
And if the tree trunk is alive it will give young branches. Once I made good big apple tree though it took me 5 years.
Mine is self pollinating so it should be alright :)
Hi, Marcus. It’s good to see you spending time at your cabin. I was sad to see you chop down all the lupins. The shop looks great with a fresh coat of paint. See you next time😊
I understand it can seem strange that he was ripping out all the lupine, in Sweden they are classed as an invasive species because they conquer out native meadow species that bloom all summer and provide a greater diversity of all the native insects, so we have a program where the government are encouraging people to remove lupine from our meadows and to make sure the do not spread to much.
why is it the war against lupines ?
They are an invasive species here and kill our plants.
Heij Marcus, its a pity to see all those nice lupins being retrieved.
Lupines are beautiful plants and the bubble bees love them 😢
But are invasive here and kill of our sensitive plants.
I actually purchased lupines here in NY State.. I am saddened that they are invasive.. they did not overwinter here so I don't have to worry about them!
👍
Faca uma alça para este BALDE DE TINTA!!😮😮😮
I feel sorry for your arms, 😂 and painting the house with a roller would be much easier, or a spray gun.The house is getting very cozy, happy birthday, Kiss from 🇵🇹
Ahhh Happy Birthday and what a nice present. Like the look of your tats on your arms, do they signify anything in particular? Great video again
Don't you need 2-3 fruit trees for cross-pollination?
I think you might want to look for common, old small engine gardening tools that people throw out on the side of the road. Many just need a small fix or a caruretor cleaning. A lawnmower, weed wacker, and tiller would help on the tasks immensely.
24:53 I might be wrong, but you might want to check the white-flowering plant around you. It could be Queen Anne's lace, or a type of hemlock, which is dangerous.
Meu Deus, você jamais vai conseguir vencer todo este mato!!
Compre uma roçadeira
a gasolina ou diesel !!
The red paint is looking really good. Do you feel nervous on the ladders? I think I would be. 😅
Can you update us on your plumbing project plans?
Another question. I see that you are applying mold wash outside. Did you rinse it off before painting?
Do you consider the lupines like a weed? Is this why you are removing them?are they not helpful for the butterfly habitat? They do grow wild in Canada but many people do plant them in their gardens as well.
Great jobs, lots of improvements, congrats. Btw, your wild flowers look beautiful.
Thank you very much!
Are your plans to live there full time or is intended for a second home that you visit?
For now, it’s only a second home that I visit every now and then
Jag kan tänka mig en ganska stor veranda framför dörren
Just give the apple tree some time. It’ll come back.
No, it wont!
Tänk att någon vid något tillfälle tänkte -"Jag behöver så jävla mycket Rydbergs Gurkmajjonäs! Minst 5kg!" ❤
Haha har du aldrig känt så?
Just curious. What's wrong with lupines?
Don’t belong here …. Push away vulnerable species that originate in the area….
Lupines were brought here from north America and while it is pretty enough, it thrives and spreads like wildfire and destroys the soil for indigenous and protected species that we want to protect.
@@viktoriaberg8706 Thank you for the info.
